I must say, I am but 16 years old and I listen to no other music but this. It is a full of such immeasurable beauty as compared to the degenerate and profane music of today. What a shame that this music has been all but lost but many dear thanks to people like you and Vom Deutschlandsender for keeping it alive and thriving well!

Actually it's true. I was reading about WW2 facts. Nazi German soldiers did in fact enjoyed listening to this music during their spare time. This music was highly popular during those days.
I don't blame them. This music is so beautiful.
people think nazi soldiers were ruthless soulless killers, but a lot of them were forced to be soldiers, a lot of them were nice people who enjoyed and did things many other people did.

I find it weird your seduced from it, but it’s okay I guess..
Why the hell has youtube decided to blacklist this album. It has nothing to do with nazism yet RUclips chooses to censor such beautiful music.
Cause RUclips was founded by fucking Communists.
Because RUclips is special.

OMG, I cannot begin to express how much I love this set and this music. I hate to say it, but I have always been addicted to European music much more than American and this set is the perfect illustration of some of the reasons. I may not know much about music but I know what I like and this is it. Bob, keep mining the European works and keep sharing them with us. They will be most welcome and most appreciated.
I have some more planned James, just need some extra time to get things done.
Miss this days so nice

Wunderbar!! Sehr gut musik
Great German set, Bob! The romantic “Heute Natch Oder Nie” is an old favorite of mine. In English speaking countries it was known as “Tell Me Tonight” and was originally written for the Polish tenor Jan Kiepura, but it became so popular that many great artists recorded it. Love the Hans Carste version of “Wind Weht Weit Ubers Mehr” too, beautifully arranged and harmonized. Thanks Bob!!
Alvaro, I love that song and both versions are great in my book. I am also a big fan of Rudi Schurike and enjoy his sing immensely. Glad you enjoyed this selection Alvaro.
Even I am younger than the time this melodies were present, really enjoy them very deeply into mine , and should enjoyed, because my way of feel music, to participate in those ball sessions when the above music was played and to dance in the ambient it emwas performed. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Chile.

Sorry Craig, I don't have anything that I can recall purchasing. The German stuff is all really recent as I used some of the donation money to buy these records. I had to have most of them shipped from the UK and Germany.

I'm a big fan of Max Raabe's Palaise Orch and recognized track 2 as the opening song for one of his tours a few years ago,
"Tonight or Never." I also liked your two versions tracks 4 and five. Thanks again!
Don thank you for the Max Raabe statement as it peaked my interest to look him up. I recently purchased all of these sides with money from the donations. I had to order all of them from the UK or German since they are hard to find here in the states. Have a great weekend Don and thank you as always for watching.
Awesome!
Glad you think so!

Beautiful sides! It was quite a revelation to me to discover in only the last ten years or so that there was quite a large quantity of very lovely German dance music in this period. My favorite is the same one you like, Bob, so it's nice to hear the two versions; I think I prefer the first. Ganz leise kommit die Nacht is also good.
I love the last song and there is a really good version of it with Rudi Schuricke singing on YT. It's pretty close for me on the two versions but the Carste version is the one I like a bit more.
Misha Spolanski is great! The other stuff is good, too.
When were these recorded?

i’d never have thought this kind of music would have survived the kulturkampf of the 30s and 40s, but i’m glad it did.
I thought that term applied more to the late 1800's in Germany. The Nazis were not fans of swing or jazz and banned a lot of it. However, that didn't keep some of the bands from performing it. Hope you enjoyed the selection.😃
Honestly why and the FUCK does youtube hide this video. Pisses me off to the max
Probably because of the wokish algorithm trying to censor anything that has anything to do with Germany in 1930s and 1940s.
because satanic people don't want people liste good words, this give people music with words which make you bad if you do this what their is singing..
German production of Gramophone records was practically at standstill 1945/46 as they had to fill their schlagerparade hits with Yankie imported musical artists like Nat King Cole etc..

I am a Russian Jew and I admit that like this. Now that means something...I would also highly recommend a little German musical group called "The Comedian Harmonists". Finally, Stalin's daughter said that once, a year or two after the war, that Stalin said to her, in passing "together with Hitler we would be invincible". Who knows, perhaps he was right. Now that would have been an interesting world....
I'm English, and have always liked German music from the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. The original Comedian Harmonists were superb, and very funny. The three Jewish members of the group had to escape to try to save their lives when Hitler came to power. The group which replaced them were not i the same league.
@@RWBHere Yes - I know this. I am a Russian Jew (now in the US). There is also a really good 1990's German film about this group - it's called "The Comedian Harmonists" (surprisingly).

Bust because the time was taken over by Hitler, by far not everyone agreed with what was happening. But whoever was openly against it, would have been killed quicker thsn you could greet the Führer. So... Not everything back then was "Nazi Stuff"
Actually the Nazis despised swing and jazz music.
@@vocalinstrument The Nazis despised jazz, but were happy to harness its ‘degenerate’ appeal for propaganda purposes.
The result was a series of radio broadcasts featuring the swinging sounds and pro-Nazi lyrics of Charlie and his Orchestra
