Conferences: Are They Worth It?

- As an emerging sports tech company, conferences are a great place to showcase your product and connect with the community. But what's the best strategy?
Conference organisers may not love this advice, but I'd recommend attending as a participant first. Get a feel for the conference, see how exhibitors are showcased, and determine if your product is a good fit for the attendees.
Create events around the main event: If there are open slots in the mornings or evenings, set up mini networking drinks or a run club to add value for conferencegoers.
If you're ready to exhibit, think about how to optimise your booth space. Be creative and set up an engaging activation-this could be an activity, competition, giveaway, or having a "celebrity" at your booth. Drive attention and foot traffic to your booth to maximise your return on investment.
If you're sponsoring and have a chance to feature in a speaking slot, consider having one of your well-known clients present. They can talk about your service area (e.g GPS), discuss their philosophy on GPS, engage the audience, and highlight how they use your technology to achieve results at their club.
