As a banjo player of 45 years I feel like I can really give a comment on this one. I think for a new banjo it has a great sound, especially up the neck. I have never played a 7/8th inch bridge but have heard of people putting them on. I would have to feel that wider neck to comment of course but I think it would probably be ok. I also kinda prefer a gloss finish, but that's just me. Overall... Nice banjo at a decent price.
My amazing wife got me one for Christmas. I was a bit anxious about all the unique features meaning a unique (potentially uncomfortable) feel and tone in person, since I hadn't had a chance to play one yet. I'm blown away. I love my new OB-Béla. The higher bridge, wider neck, and radiused fingerboard are actually really comfortable for me, more comfortable than standard so far. And the tone is beautiful. Gold Tone did a great job setting it up. I'm not sure if I got lucky or if everyone else's ears are more particular, but I'm more than satisfied with their job setting it up. The build quality is fantastic. I couldn't be happier.

That is a fine tone, seems like it has the energy, bloom and decay to be very expressive and articulate for a banjo.

Might want to AB it with say a Deering calico or a Goldtone OB250+ to show each end of the spectrum…
Or, how does it match with the Twanger ? Also, no mention of the gauge strings...so, in comparison they should be equally fit.
Ain't bad for green.
Goldtone hitting above their weight 👍
Same tone ring as the twanger. Just get a Twanger with a radiused fretboard 1000$ less.
