+Ofordgabings Wouldn't they have to extend the game significantly? I have only made it to chapter 3 with a buddy, but doesn't it seem like an autist could memorize most of this?
HSSLNG Teams would play several games and average out the times. People would be competing for most time left, so the margin for error is 0 across multiple bombs. The tournament pressure would be immense. And this would be I am Hardcore, not chapter 3 stuff. Yes, a single person can memorize the entire manual, but ask KrazyCaley on how difficult that is.
I really like the way you play the game. Usually, the people playing it are literally screaming their lungs off, but you guys are very calm and collected, and you speak very methodically, which I love.
I tried playing the game today, and the communication went down through suttering, confusion and a bunch of phrases that were cut halfway through because of some oscillation. Oofies.
It's refreshing to watch people who get this game. If you know how it works, it's very frustrating watching people who don't read the manual properly...
+KentuckyWallChicken I think what frustrates me is when they make a mistake, (for example, thinking the colour of the button determines when it should be released) then get confused that it didn't work, and can't work out what went wrong. It makes you want to shout out "Read the manual carefully! You need to look at the stripe!" EDIT: I think what I want is people to have at least looked at the manual before they start playing (including the Defuser). I've seen too many videos when they clearly have never seen it, with Experts having to read through the whole thing each time, and the Defuser not knowing what information is needed, and having to explain what each module looks like.
+JorWat25 To be fair, they dont give you all the info on the packet either. IE in memory, it doesnt say on the packet that the buttons change positions afaik
+Aikurō Mikisugi Yes, but most of the errors I've seen are people messing up things that are in the manual, like the maze walls being invisible, or the colour of the light strip denoting when to release the button, not the button itself.
10:42 "The real trick is to solve the bomb before the lights come on." This is actually very doable, it just requires a little luck. You need a press and release button, then guess on simple wires and symbols. It's definitely not easy, especially as you can easily mess up the symbols if you don't know it right off, but absolutely doable. Yes, I know this comment is five years late lmao
I fucking love that it takes three people to solve the hardest bombs in this game, and yet you're managing. This is some Human Hive shit, you guys are amazing.
I'm going to make the Needy Knob very easy for you. Ignore the right half, just look at the left 2 rows of 3 lights. If 1 or less lights are lit, its left. If a total of 4 lights are lit, it's up. If the lights make a full "U" (so 1, 0, 1 and second row 1, 1, 1) then it's right. Otherwise it's down. Now you can do the Needy Knob in a split second without having to ask. If you have anything else you'd like to be able to do faster let me know and I'll see if I can't simplify them as well :)
+Derek Chapman Doesn't that defeat the purpose? As the leader he's not supposed to know how to defuse any of the bomb parts. He just passes info around.
+NeoFryBoy If they make the modules easy enough for the defuser to memorize, there's no point in wasting time waiting for an answer you already know (from memory, not by cheating by actually reading off the manual).
+Douglas Scott I can simplify that. Imagine it's a Battlefield game. The columns are lettered; first column is A, second column is B, etc. The rows are numbered; first row is 1, second row is 2, etc. If the circles are in fifth column second row and third column fourth row, they are in E2 and C4. Then you say where the triangle and dot are and you're off, as long as your expert(s) isn't/aren't an imbecile(s). That was a lot of compensating for plausible pluralities.
Dear god... I looked up "keep talking and nobody explodes calm play" (Copy-pasted) And I got this. This is exactly what I was looking for. ...But now I can't watch anyone else. You are amazing, And i haven't seen anyone else meet your level.
I am obsessed with this game and watching this group of people play it was really entertaining. Like many other commenters, I also appreciated seeing someone play who really understands the purpose and nuances of each module and could solve them efficiently rather than flailing around uselessly or giving unnecessary information.
When you guys do knobs how are you rattling off that information? Weve been trying to figure out a good way to do it and yours seems amazing but I cant catch the trick of it.
+Steve Appleton are you talking about the needy knob? If so I just read the top row where 1 = on, 0 = light off and i read left to right. There are two cases that clash and you need to read the bottom row as well.
+LtHummus lol awesome, the one thing weve really noticed is that complex wires pretty much requires its own person :P at least for us since we're just starting out.
+Steve Appleton Oh I totally get it, my first time with wires I just kind of threw up my hands and went lol wtf. I'm actually toying with the idea of making a couple strategy and deeper discussion videos. I was thinking of making a video about how I do the complex wires since my system takes about 1 second/wire tops, usually less.
I found this channel surprisingly pleasant and high quality. Strange that you don't have more subscribers (If that is something you strive for). Nice work and I am looking forward to more content.
Knobs: the ONLY thing you have to mention is the FIRST double-on pair of LEDs (light on under another light). They're unique. 3 is up, 2 or none is down, 5 is left, 1 is right. IT's really that easy.
Good little tip to save time on the button is to start with it and hold it down and just give the experts the color of the strip. That way, even if you blow up because you were just supposed to press it, then at least you started with it.
IMHO the fastest way to do memory is the defuser calling out only the display and the position, and actually remembering the labels pressed. And perhaps also memorizing the last step directions for that purpose, since all of those are about those labels, so that after the fourth step no time is wasted on communication.
31:37 When he says that it was a Simpson reference, was he referring to the time that Homer was working from home because of his obesity? Cause I love that episode.
My friends and I got this game after seeing AH and you guys do it and beat it that night (except for the exotics) and it is amazing. So much better than going to a movie or something like that.
Question: can you just click big buttons at "Magic moments" on the timer like 1:45, 1:54, 4:15, 4:51, 5:14 ? Save time having to figure them out? or do you have to initiate the strip by holding for a bit?
+mrklin99 Sometimes you have to press and immediately release the big buttons. If you hold it down, regardless of the color you get, you'll get a strike when you release it.
You guys are amazing. Your communication and execution is so fast and I don't even understand how they can remember everything you say so they can write it down.
It's truly amazing, such a simple concept and yet the game devs developed it wonderfully. Basically the ultimate nerve-wracking party game for drunk nerds. Time to get me a copy of this.
Lots of fun watching you guys play. Bought the game last night because of you and already sunk way too many hours into it. Would love to see/hear some strategy from you and generate some discussion on the most efficient ways for the multitude of problems. Keen to see your next videos, any chance you could pop the stream link somewhere? Is it on twitch or...? This would be an awesome game to jump in on the stream with.

Ad SJB in Morse Code you read the flashes as either dots or dashes, short flashes being dots and long flashes being dashes. When he said dot dot dot those were 3 short flashes and that’s the letter S.
I love watching you guys play these, but no matter how often I watch I can't understand the star-space-light thing that you say, you do it so fast. Impressive.
"i got a bigass button" and the way you said it made me laugh so hard (not saying your voice was weird i meant like how you said "i got a bigass button" made me laugh
Wow, you guys are the best for me to watch because your communication is amazing! I enjoy these videos but I understand you guys are really experienced so that probably why xx
If you don' t want to make the manual too cheesed out with complex wires, at LEAST just mark the circles for blue and red with a blue and red marker/colored pencil should help a lot.
Hey, I have a few questions about needy modules: 1) How many seconds does each start with? The capacitor seems to be 45 and the knob 40 (or 39?)... 2) Does the gas-venting one reset all the way when you vent the gas, or does venting just add a certain number of seconds? 3) Does the knob one only change its "up" position upon reactivation, or can it happen while the timer is ticking down? How about the LED configuration?
+Brony 22 This is really the only correct answer to give you, George. The complex wire module is ridiculous when looking at the graph, explaining it in text would cause the world to explode.
+George Wright There's a venn diagram. You have to look at intersection of 4 ellipses based on whether there's a light above the wire, a star below it, it has any red, and it has any blue. That gives you a letter code. The code may be a simple cut or don't cut, or it may be a more complex one that has you cut depending on other properties of the bomb. So, rather complex. He gives someone all the wire information so they can figure all of them out to tell him later.
+Angel leon There is at least one error in the chart. At around 21:00 in the video, there's a blue wire with LED and no star. The bomb manual says P, but the excel sheet says D.
When doing the 1-2-3/A-B-C wires do they not need to know from where is the wire going? Like they say blue to B, never saying like blue going from two to B etc.
lol im just about to start the game, its going to be way different to how u guys are doing it, the communication is amazing, i wish i could get a team as great as yours (i barely know any of the modules, i just like to see how experts do it :p)
Do you have a link to your stream? I'd love to join in sometime and watch! EDIT: Oops, found it on your twitter. Along with everything else. I'll go there then! Everyone looking at this, go to his twitter!

The professionalism in this just amazes me...
They are way more organized than my life would ever be
Go watch Elevator of doom that is even crazier
I think he made (or at least contributed heavily to) the game.
They should do tournaments with this game. They could set up rules such as how big teams can be.
+Ofordgabings I want to see a game with 50 experts and one defuser
+Ofordgabings Wouldn't they have to extend the game significantly? I have only made it to chapter 3 with a buddy, but doesn't it seem like an autist could memorize most of this?
+HSSLNG They can just release a new manual with different rules. :)
Vanja Grujic
i think the game should randomly generate manuals using a seed that you have to send to the expert

I tried playing the game today, and the communication went down through suttering, confusion and a bunch of phrases that were cut halfway through because of some oscillation. Oofies.
It's refreshing to watch people who get this game. If you know how it works, it's very frustrating watching people who don't read the manual properly...
Keep in mind, nobody's going to fully understand the manual at first. It takes practice and trial and error.
+KentuckyWallChicken I think what frustrates me is when they make a mistake, (for example, thinking the colour of the button determines when it should be released) then get confused that it didn't work, and can't work out what went wrong. That Hardcore defusal was intense.

+Ofordgabings Same way with some of the complicated wires, like how some of them such as just blank, white, no LED are always cut
+Derek Chapman Could you simplify Mazes for me? I have trouble conveying the co-ords of the circles, square and the triangle.
+Douglas Scott I can simplify that.
Imagine it's a Battlefield game. yeah it’s so sad it’s lost popularity, be so cool if it gained popularity again
This makes me happy because you guys actually know how to play the game, and you are good at it lol
You guys really need better names for each of the greek letters on keypad.
I wonder if theres anyone crazy enough to memorize everything so they can do any bomb solo.
the smartest are the laziest i hear. the world is full of geniuses, but they don't bother to learn anything useful or otherwise.
I don't have the game. Guess I'll just read the manual.
Because they know it's futile in the end.
heyyyyyynow Good point.
I think KrazyCaley has done bombs memorized before

I'll definetly try that out
Jesus. You guys are like professionals at this.

They way you guys handle the complex wires is absolutely insane!
I would have forgotten all info by the third wire.
+MastersOfTheWinds They don't memorize it, they write it down.
+Josh Martin the game should come with a 200 page notebook
The teamwork is amazing
It's really cool. Almost like an assembly line where you have one person on each job, you have one person for each module.
If you don' t want to make the manual too cheesed out with complex wires, at LEAST just mark the circles for blue and red with a blue and red marker/colored pencil should help a lot.
Have u seen the Centurion or Praetorian?
20:28 Wait, God is helping him with the knob??
Hey, I have a few questions about needy modules:
1) How many seconds does each start with? The capacitor seems to be 45 and the knob 40 (or 39?)...
2) Does the gas-venting one reset all the way when you vent the gas, or does venting just add a certain number of seconds?
3) Does the knob one only change its "up" position upon reactivation, or can it happen while the timer is ticking down? How about the LED configuration?
this is actually amazing
"I have no knoooooob..."
I just exploded laughing!

So casual

If you say alright one more time my head will literally explode.
Your teamwork is fucking amazing.
How do the complex wires work?
+George Wright
complex, read the manual

I like how he says efffed up then immediately says shit
