Kasparov is a BEAST with his bishops

- Featured is the game between Leonid Yudasin and Garry Kasparov from the 1981 USSR Championship. After Yudasin’s f4 in a Sicilian Najdorf, Kasparov secures e5 while also welcoming multiple imbalances. By move 9, Kasparov has a compromised kingside structure but is in possession of the bishop pair. A time sensitive position ensues where initiative would be king. Observe how Garry Kasparov, the Beast from Baku, makes excellent use of his bishops through key pawn play in this instructive 24-move encounter.
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. Kasparov's Beastshops
Jerry's analyses are some of my favorite videos on RUclips. He's an excellent narrator and brings entertaining and valuable commentary to the game. I feel that I understand more of a game when Jerry talks about it than anyone else. Keep up the great work!
Your commentaries are simply the best, Jerry. I've been watching chess videos for something around 18 years and I always come back to yours. You're such a good teacher!
Thanks for everything!
Thank you for the big compliment. 👍
Jerry I have a request! Can you review your favorite game from your own career? I'd love to see your style of play!
Leonid didn't even make a mistake! Only inaccuracies. A smooth victory by Garry. If I were Leonid I'd be scratching my head thinking where it went wrong
If i were leonid...
Id stop playing chess
especially if you can't analyse it with a powerful engine like stockfish
It's always amazing to see how strong Kasparov was. This game is filthy and Yudasin was #8 around this year.
Thanks again Jerry to bring us this analysis!
I’ve watched so many of the games you have covered, but for some reason, even though nobody sacked a queen or gave a smothered mate, I think this might be my favorite. I love what you pointed out about Kasparov not playing Kh8. Very instructive
Ohh this game is a Lethal one by Garry. Incredible demonstration.
GOAT analyst on RUclips
Great attack and great analysis
Brutal.
A shame Fisher and Kasparov were of slightly different eras; what matches they would have had!
I enjoyed it and took one thing or two
I love how straight forward and self explanatory Kasparov’s moves are. Very much similar to Spassky in that regard
Your videos keep getting even better. Amazing, instructive, exciting. Love it! 🙏🏽
Thank you 👍
Awesome game; loved your analysis and teaching style.👌
I'm subscribing. 👍
Fenomenal game - thanks for sharing Jerry!
Best game analyser in the world thanks for this instructive lesson
Can you plz make a series of videos about how do you became an IM
Great game. Very well covered.
This was a great game. I enjoyed listening to your commentary. I would not be able to appreciate this game without your insight.
loved the commentary, especially the explanations of ideas
Love your pace. Good one
Another great video, thanks Jerry!
Man you're very helpful thanks and keep going❤❤
Great video as always Jerry.
Lol I found the 2 quiz moves instantly, I guess they were natural. Anyway to me here, the best play was at 8:22 with the consecutive pawn moves. That's what separates a super GM from other players.
Jerry you are hammering out these videos!! The true GOAT!
Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful! I love the Sicilian.
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching. 👍
So dominant... Thank you for the analysis, Jerry!
Really such a nice and elegant game.
A very beastly performance from Kasparov. Thanks Jerry.
Very nice analysis!
man, imagine playing a 90% game and still losing like a patzer
Jerry should be at 1M subs ❤️
The G7 bishop really needed to open his eyes to see the world
Clicked on this immediately
Abother najdorf masterpiece...tnx
I'm used to your analysis of strategic masterpieces, but I'm really enjoying your analysis of these tactical masterpieces as well. It's so interesting how the black's aggressive moves in sharp positions like this one are still governed by precise strategic ideas.
I love your commentary
Prime Kasparov meets Prime Jerry - an unstoppable force!
Beautiful video of a beautiful game. Imagine an Azeri team with Kasparov joining Mamedyarov and Radjabov..!
Foarte frumos.si.instuctiva partida felicitări.
Thanks Jerry
Using a pinned bishop to attack and threaten with discoveries is an unbelievably resilient tactic. Here white is thinking he's got the black king jammed up, then somehow a bishop pair from Hell emerges from the position and the game is completely lost.
Hello Jerry, welcome back 😊
Thank you very much
good upload thanks
If I had a chance to press ten times to like button, I would do it
Insane. Feels like both players had so many options and it was on a knife's edge
4:24 is the most deep thing ive heard all day.
Baku Beast bishops battering by black. Bravo!
jerry
u man awesome in describe the complex in easy way.
beautiful game n also beautiful ur simple n attractive analysis.
thank u again.
will u analysis rashid game?
Lovely game
Thank you
TY GM!
Hi Jerry, thank you very much😊
Of all the great players that have come sand gone, and there are so many. Gary Kasparov is still my favorite. Mikail Tal is a close second. Then Magnus.
Nice game ❤
You're such a great chess analysis. Have you ever covered an analysis on how black should handle a C4 opening?
Don't forget the game where Ivanchuk smoked Kasparov with his2 knights against Gary's pair.
What a game
I would have liked more insight into the mistakes (or rather inaccuracies) made by Yudasin. Surely it was simply criminal for him to have left the queen on g4 for so long.
Love your videos
Good to hear 👍
What a beautiful ending position
That’s what she said
The greatest players always make whatever they do look easy, regardless of what sport it is.
These few days I've been watching MLS (for obvious reasons) and you see the same thing happening.
Strong moves
Plz cover the current world cup plz ❤
The game started as a najdorf but it looked more like a Sveshnikov with 9.Bxf6 where black goes 10... Bg7
Video feel off, did you do something with the speed ?
I wonder what Ivanchuk would think about the Title of this video after the 1995 Lenaris game
Lol I had that exact same thought
At 8:31 why not 14. ...e5 instead of b4?
What's preventing us from attacking the queen with the discovered bishop attack simultaneously to attacking the knight with the pawn on e5?
Nf5
Tried to understand that aswell. I belive since the Knight then gains the square f5 to protect itself the queen aswell as making a mate in one threat basicaly forcing us to capture with knight or bishop
i guess a move!
What would black do if white moves b3 after Qg3||Qa5?
Take the bishop on h5 and win the end game up a piece
Why wasn't e5 played after Ne2
This game is a beauty
❤❤
Hi Jerry.
BPFH
Jerry, would you be able to go a bit slower at the beginning when you go through the opening moves? It would help people like me who aren’t as familiar with this opening to see the moves one at a time. Thanks!
Perhaps posting a PGN of the game too, but I like his pace. Played at 2x
@@raylopez99 Yess I agree
It's a pretty famous variation, Jerry does mention several times one of the critical ideas, which is to control the d5 square or you'll die.
Regular and popular openings are just not really worth diving into. There are literally countless videos out there analyzing each of these specific popular openings, even from Jerry himself I believe. It's just a waste of time and would tire out the regular viewers by repeating the same things over and over again.
he can't always make vids for beginners
That's how to use the Bishops
I think Jerry is either speaking more quickly or speed of video is bit more
🙂
Two bishop Fatals
What's wrong with 15...e5 attacking the knight on d4 with discovered attack on the white queen?
I was about to make the same comment. After looking at the position, I think the only reply is Nf5 in which case you can achieve doubled f pawns for white, but I do not see immediate advantage afterwards for black. If anything, the black kingside becomes a little cloggy, which means that if black doesn't produce enough counterattack on the queenside, white will slowly bring pieces and kill the black king.
Just a very brief and short understanding of the position, I didn't spend more than 2 minutes on it, so I could be totally wrong.
15...e5 16.Nf5 Bxf5 17.ef doesn't do Black's dark square bishop any favours. It is still winning for Black, it's just that 15...f5 is stronger.
I guess the difference is that ...f5 liberates the g7 bishop, while ...e5 shuts it down.
Jerry, can you fix the shrill "S"ing sounds your microphone is making? Especially bad on this video.
Black gal see heaven on C7.
Kasparov with 97% accuracy with only 9 centipawn loss. No inaccuracies, no mistakes and no blunders. Amazing.
txs
Great game for black, he be able to improve his position by
His accurate defense then translated into an attack...
The name is Kasparov but You are pronouncing Gariksparov, why?
First name Garry! Garry Kasparov
@@asagauntlett8126 Thank you dear
It was not him playing.
He was commanded by the Gods.
Can't watch the game for your damn captions.

Did you uderand the game? This guy ruined the game with his comments. Every move he had to add something ridiculous.
nobody thinks this
Bros a hater and sees the glass half full. L
I highly disagree. I think Jerry's got arguably the most instructive chess chanell
Well. I think exactly the contraire. You just lack intelligence. T.H.A.T. I. S. A.L.L.
Are you kidding? This was great commentary.
Awsome cheers Jerry
