It definitley needs to be like 20 an hr and 1000 game day. They literally go thru the most crazy audtion process. They expext u to miss you college graduation ( one of the girls in training camp graduated from ucla and missed the ceremony for practice). You literally have to uphold whatever crazy expensive color they put in your hair. Extensions all that. Like cmon

But no one forces these women to try out for the job. If you don't like the audition process or the pay, then don't try out. This ain't slavery. The pay sucks but there's no shortage of women each season trying out to be a DCC. Maybe if not enough qualified women try out, then the team will pay more money for better candidates. But the team has no incentive to pay more money or change the recruiting process when there's no shortage of women trying out for the squad.

The NFL is a registered non-profit, that was also getting paid to fly the American flag before games. And yet, they did not even pay their iconic cheerleaders a respectable wage. Shame.
Pay them. You want them to do calendars in bikinis and learn the dances? Pay. Them. Well.
As a dancer Erica is one of those girls that just blew me away with how talented she is. I'm glad she chose to stand up for what these ladies deserve!

What's even more impressive about these cheerleaders is that they could smile those gorgeous smiles and put on that "shine" attitude when they HAD TO BE bitter and miserable about their pay. It's a testament to their fortitude, maturity, and spirit that they can compose themselves and perform so professionally under those conditions. RESPECT!!!
lol .. the only people who whine about the pay are people who aren't even on the team, they know how much they are paid going in, it's not something you do for pay. If they are paid 0, hundreds of women would still audition.

The Dallas Cowboy football Organization is worth 5 Billion dollars and yet they pay the girls Below minimum wage that in some cases comes to just a few dollars an hour for a 16 hour work day. This is Outrageous behavior by the organization!

A lot of the time the mascots are full time with the organization as well.. they are part of the front office staff in handling other duties whatever they may be where as the cheerleaders are strictly entertainment purposes.

12 an hour?? I worked as a cleaner in a laundry mat, the lowest I got for the job $18 and most of the time I got $20 an hour
That’s absolutely ridiculous considering how much money they cheerleaders bring in. They need to pay these girls like the athletes they are!, they have to be beautiful, they have to look the right way, they have to eat right, be respectful, go wherever their asked....and all just for the “ prestige!! The mascot makes five times the amount and has no appearances. Disgusting what the players make and what the cheerleaders make. I’m sad for these women who are asked to simply “ be grateful that they have a job”. They don’t ask their players to “ play for the prestige of being in the nfl....I’m just simply horrified at how little they are paid for being a part of the most recognizable cheerleading team in the world!

Not that I know of - as far as I know the ladies have to pay for many things out of pocket, including hair and make up and can only go to approved salons.

DCC girls don’t pay for their hair, the have sponsors that do the extensions as well as lashes. Some of the girls have personal sponsors for makeup that they use. The games and travel shows have artists that they use. Also some girls learned how to do their hair and makeup from the artists to save time or do it at home.

I am so glad that the girls are making more than what they were but when you compare it to what the players make it is almost insulting! They deserve way more than what the pay increase came to! They work just as hard making the squad and performing at games! It’s insane that most of the girls have full time jobs or are in school full time on top of being on the squad! And although I do like them both I am curious to know how much Kelly and Judy make in their positions!

Yes the pay sucks for them I’m glad it’s better now, but the DCC are also accommodating, practices at 7pm to 10pm or 11pm. DCC girls don’t pay for their hair, the have sponsors that give them extensions as well as lashes. Some of the girls have personal sponsors for makeup that they use. about team pay why have they done it for so long for so little? Exposure possibly resulting in
career opportunities, fame, acting career, trophy wife marriage to a very rich man, etc.? I wish
them all the realization of their dreams. It’s a great job but still a job with an employer who

While we can all agree the pay should be higher, some of you need to ask yourselves what is the REAL reason that 1000's of women line up EVERY single year, begging and crying to get on the squad and most of whom continue to come back KNOWING full well what the pay is? I think you all need to ask yourselves is pay really an issue for them? As opposed to getting the fame & recognition of being a DCC? If these women were being paid $3 a game they would line up from here to NY just to "get in".

The female soccer team was not about there standard pay, that was about the reduced bonus pay they got after an international tournament. The reson they got less bonus pay from that is becouse of there own choices. That female soccer team choice a higher safe standard pay with a lesser bonus pay rather then a lower standard pay with a higher bonus pay. They hade a choice on what they wanted to have and now when they placed very high they might have won not sure what international event it was but now they want the higher bonus just becouse they choice wrong.
In most if not all physical/enduranced based sports where men an woman compete by themselfs regardless if ppl like it or not men will always be paid higher purely based on performance. There are ofc some factors like sport popularity and sponsorship. But there is a reson players like Ronaldo, Messi and ibrahimovic were paid obsurd amouth of cash. As far as i know i dont actully think females are excluded by most sport rules from male teams. They are just never considered by scouts becouse the reality is that they cant hold there own against the men they are compeating against for that spot.

The sport football is great, but the NFL always ruins it for (just about) everybody. Run the other direction and don't look back. It's not worth it.

I would say, what they go through to get on the team, all time invested in Dance, Dieting, Determination, These Ladies, should make alot more money, than whats being reported, If one looks at Beauty, it just doesn't happen, it's HARD DAM work to keep looking great as these Ladies do. I've viewed, just a little of what they go through on DCC. Some try several times before they are accepted, and when they are rejected, what that must feel like? They Represent the Dallas Cowboys Football Team, should be paid Accordingly.
When it comes to the soccer teams, the women requesting the same pay as men is absurd. The men's team sells a ton more tickets and merchandise than the women's team. Most sports organizations pay athletes based on how much money the athletes can make for the organization. If women bring in half the revenue of men, they should get half the pay. That's just business.

The thing is though, how are we meant to become fans of women's sport? It's never on our TV channels (based in Ireland). I would happily support female teams and give them my money. I think it could be just as profitable as male teams.
The DCC cheerleaders are iconic and add immense value to the cowboys team through their overseas appearances, private appearances and calendar sales. They need a greater percentage of the income that they generate. No one is saying that they need to be paid the same as the players.

They get like 10 seconds of air time during a game? how much more do they want? People don't go to NFL Games to watch the cheerleaders, or buy their merch.
1. I do. The only reason I'm a cowboys fan is because of DCC.

4. They are a huge part of the in stadium entertainment.
5. Their hit TV show that just aired its 15th season.
They are skilled and highly trained workers that make the franchise so much money and the people who sell hotdogs at the stadium make more.
@@prepilitsa I agree with you to an extent but if the team gets rid of the DCC, fans would still pack the stadium to watch the team. Not enough people will stop watching football if there's no cheerleaders. Some people may complain and stop watching. But the games will go on.
@@vandrosia yeah, but same with the mascot. Or with their other dance squads. Or with their band if they have one. Or the dj. Or the fireworks specialists. Or the people who sell concessions or souvenirs. All of those things are unnecessary for the actual watching of football, but they add enough to the game to be considered a part of the experience.
American football isn't just about watching 22 men throw a ball around. There's so much more to it, especially if you are watching the game in person.

Before you know it, there will be no cheerleaders since women "dream" of being one until they are cut. Then they seek revenge by suing for low wages. SMH.
Being an NFL cheerleader is not supposed to be a full time job, so I'm not sure why they had to go through this, because they are made aware of that. I'm curious to see what the cheerleaders contracts say, the one they're required to sign when they're accepted into training camp. Kelly said Judy make it VERY clear to the girls that they are encouraged to have jobs while cheering for them. If it was equivalent to be paid for a 9-5 job, then this wouldn't be an issue--but it's not.
Womens sports don't make as much, because fans don't pay the price of admission like they do for mens sports. You just don't see as many packed stadium seats. UFC might be an exception. That's not to criticize or rag on the female athletes. I'm all for womens sports. I guess I just don't see how a certain gender in a sport--who doesn't bring as much in for admission revenue--should get paid as much as their counter gender. While NFL cheerleaders yes, do require a great deal of stamina and energy to do what they do, it is not a requirement for a game event. The game itself still goes on without them.
Yes, I do believe they should be compensation for the out of town and overseas events they do. During those times, they are representing the organization as a whole seeing as the players don't do the same events. And they are. Kelly and Judy have been doing this for years, they probably have something stated in the contract regarding pay. I know this isn't a popular opinion and that's fine. All the progressive femenazis can fire back all they want. Until NFL cheerleaders are given a more vital role that make them essential to the game, they will never make as much as what they're asking for. If the game and the players can happen and fully function without you, chances are you won't get equal pay.
The issue is not about it being part time work. The issue is the pay they get, divided between the hours they worked, was less than minimum wage. Less than $8 an hour! There isn't a single professional athlete making do little money for such a rigorous job. People at McDonald's earn more an hour than them
The issue is they need to get a real job
It's not part time work, it's a hobby. They should be happy they get paid anything. They do it for the name and when it doesn't get them anything they do things like suing, it's just sad.
They know what they are signing up for and if it is a problem then they are free to walk away.
