    Honda of Japan needs to fire management here in the states. They’re making the company look bad.

      It’s not just the US. And Honda in the US isn’t the cause of this. It’s Honda themselves.

      The japs made the software. The US is only in charge of selling and distribution

    My 2022 accord has done that once on the highway. Went full abs on me. Had me looking like a novice driver. Now I just disable it every time I drive.

      It has happens to my 2022 hybrid sport. I depend on auto-steering. I'm thinking that feature causes it?

    • @K80sLife
      @K80sLife 5 месяцев назад

      How do you disable it? I had it happen to me once when I was on the interstate and there was no one around thankfully. I changed the setting for braking when close to another car to “off”. Hasn’t happened since but could be a coincidence.

      @@K80sLife That’s what I’m referring to, the “Honda Sensing” features. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist etc… I simply disable the “Collision Mitigation Braking System” to the left of my steering wheel to remedy the issue.

    • @MrNikeFresh808

      @@Kirbysbelt For me I believe it was caused by the “Collision Mitigation Braking System” which Honda calls it.

    Oh wow - I just bought a 2019 10th gen Accord, and I just tried out the cruise control on the highway yesterday, and it actually started doing exactly this.
    It didn't try to come to a complete stop (because I was doing 50 or so), but out of nowhere, it felt like it was braking on its own.
    I should probably have the dealer check that out then. Thanks!

    My 19’ Pilot does this ‘Phantom Braking’ glitch when going around a curve on a two lane road. I hope it can be reprogrammed to alleviate this issue.

    Honda has a lot of defects they need to address.. My 2019 EXL 2.0 turbo had that false sensitive braking problem and Honda would not address it.. Their worst is that with the 1.5 turbo engine.. There is a very high chance of them failing between 70k. to 100,000k.. Their reliability has really declined..

    2021 Tlx Aspec AWD does this too. Car in front of TLX will turn and the TLX will slam on brakes with no car in front. Had a rear differential leak at axle at the same location a recall was out for the Honda Accord and CRV. Don’t know how they do not hold Acura on same recalls since it’s the same parts.

    I have chosen not to use all these new devices and these cars… like lane assist, etc. I am an older person, but I don’t want to be dependent on an automobile to make the decisions for me as it would tend to make my response times less. I want to stay up-to-date on my own reaction time and not have to depend on my car and I’m wondering if this braking system is one of those new issues, that I don’t use anyway

    My 22’ accord SE has done this a couple times and it’s super dangerous because I almost spun out because it thought that a car was in front of it and it broke while I was accelerating.

    My '22 CRV works pretty good most of the time. I have occasional issues when a car is making a right turn in front of me. I have more than enough spacing and the CRV us slowing down but it doesn't think enough. When the brake turns on, I just have to tap the gas and the problem goes away.

    Geez, more Honda recalls. I've been looking for a 2018-2022 Accord and just about every one I see that I like has a pending recall. The recall regarding the fuel pumps can't be resolved until the fall.

    My 2020 Accord hates railroad crossing, near my work there are two rail crossing and for whatever reason it goes on to full on brakes occasionally, the dealer says they can’t find anything wrong. I get around the problem by applying the brakes even though I am in a slow roll as I approach the rail crossing. If not you get the beeping and the visual display of BRAKE and you are sent forward with full force brakes applied.

    My 2018 Accord Sport has auto breaked only twice in almost 3 years, both times at the identical spot on the road. It’s an area where I think the Honda system believes there’s a head on collision about to happen. It breaks really hard, but doesn’t come to a complete stop. Again, it’s only happened twice in almost 3 years but at the exact same spot. I knew there had to be something to that...

    It happens on the Civic as well. It has happened to me a couple of times on the 10 Gen Civic which the collision mitigation system quickly slammed on the brakes and then released while nothing is in front of me. Thankfully both times there were no cars behind me. It hasn’t happened again in 2 years of the last time it happened.

    HEY JON, can you be honest with me which is a better car for long term? Acura tlx 2021 or a touring accord 2019 -2020 2.0? I’m really on the fence because the Acura is 5k more but has awd

    • @HondaJon
      @HondaJon  5 месяцев назад +1

      It really comes down to what you need. The accord is a great car but awd is great especially in bad weather. The Acura does have a more premium feel but at a cost. Can’t go wrong with either really

    The gas version CRV and Accord have the trifecta of engine issues: GDI, CVT and Turbo. That’s not counting the engine being a small 1.5l with oil leaking issues. No matter how reputable Honda is, their current engines feel like ticking time bombs.
