We vacationed in Wolfeboro from 1968 to 1994 in what is know as Port Wedlen which my Uncle Mike LaMedica has purchased I remember going to that store as a child I am now 62. What is paramount is that there were no injuries.
The Wolfeboro store, which was in dire need of significant renovations and upgrades, unfortunately experienced a mysterious fire. Subsequently, it was rebuilt with an expanded size of 25% and equipped with brand-new, state-of-the-art refrigeration units, representing a substantial improvement over the previous conditions. Funny how that always happens in the town
Hunters IGA was my first real job I had to get working papers from school but I was able to start just before I turned 14... Bagging groceries, Charlie Hunter still ran the store then... Early 90s... And as teenagers... We used to hang out in the parking lot until they put a city ordnance into effect that we couldn't... Now living in Calais Maine I'm just seeing this and it makes me sad... A lot of memories there
