- How To Clean Off-White Air Jordan 5 Mesh Material
In today's episode of Shoe Care Academy cleaning tutorials, Jonny cleans this busted pair of Off-White Jordan 5 sails that a lot of yall have been asking for! Jonny starts off the cleaning using the soft brush to break down all the heavy dirt and grease. Moving onto the midsole, he used the medium brush to get a deep scrub, he then finished off the outsole using the stiff brush. The shoes were extremely dirty so they needed to get a deeper clean and go through the wash using our laundry system. The material on these 5's needed a bit of extra love so it two 2 washes to get the desired results. All of the products used in today's cleaning video can be found on our website! i think the reason they’re harder to clean is bc the material they used on them. the dirt and dust grains settle layers under the material and sit. so it’s hard to scrub stains out. will def take a few attempts or throwing them in the washer , but no all stains won’t be removed, will look better than what they did though 🎉
I found the hack for the dirt in the layers. Now it took forever , but it worked. Get your cleaning solution and water all set up, then put the shoes in the water. Make sure you got something holding them up. Keep the dirt spot in the water. Keep checking, randomly agitate. The dirt will kinda just work it’s way out into the water. 🤌
How long did you soak them in the water/solution? Overnight?

Personally I prefer to mix the cleaning Solution with Shout stain remover when I’m cleaning these so it does a better job lifting the stains in the wash.

As someone who have cleaned 300+ pairs of shoes, these are some of the hardest to clean. Currently working on a pair was good timing for this video. Glad to know they weren’t able to get some of the stains out too. But can’t look over the fact that they turned out much better than before.
How did you go about cleaning them ?
@@geniuswork1245 I gave them 4 attempts of cleaning. Soaking them in warm water and soap for a while before trying to scrub the dirt out and putting them in the washer. Still didn’t get it completely out but they looked much better regardless

I hit for these on release, my first pair of Off White sneakers. SNKRS held it down for me that day
I hit the black color way as well and sadly sold those and then won the sails too. Wish I woulda kept ‘em so I could have both🤦🏼♂️

I went to a festival a couple weeks back and had my muslin ow 5's on; needless to say, they got dusty. These are super easy to clean bc the material drys right away. (the black ones, that is, lol)
I went to rolling loud with mines not expecting to actually sneak in lmao seen future and came out shoes all stepped on the toe part is alil wrinkled and stomped out did you get that part fixed ?

Quick question, does the yellow discoloration of the shoe mess up or change when cleaning this Off White 5? I'm asking because I have a pair to clean today and don't wanna start it if it does. I'm removing what was told to me pink shae butter stain off the shoe string and toe box.

I just cleaned a friend of mines pair, Mann it had stains and oil stains but I got them out, it was my first time cleaning this type if material.

Use a steam cleaner. It'll lift the stains from under the netting then u can brush it off.

We did the UNC 1s already. You can find the video on our page. Once that materials yellows, it cannot be un-yellowed.

No, you can put them in directly after if they're still dirty.

just bought reshoevn8r, how do you clean the mesh in off white 5s tho, do I just put em in the washing machine 2 times or should i go thru the mesh with the stiff brush?
We don't recommend using the Stiff Brush on the uppers. I would recommend cleaning the uppers with the Medium Bristle Brush and Solution. Once you have done that you can use the wash if needed.

No
Yes, always keep your Shoe Trees inside the shoes throughout the entire cleaning process, even the drying.

My wife bought my stepson a pair of the Sails last October for his birthday, but due to his behavior my wife had me put them on EBay to sell, they have a few red stains on the left shoe like he stepped in sumthin & it splashed on them, I started to try & clean them but I decided against it. I get my creases out by putting in a shoe tree, getting a damp hand towel, laying it on the toe box, and with a hot iorn slowly go back in fourth until they go away

You can use any at home detergent that is both 100% natural and dye free, like ours. However, most of them aren't which is why we recommend our.

It's safer to use the bag. The laundry bag also acts as a scrubber to further clean the shoes in the wash!
