  • Tonight at a special time, 11pm ET, Marc Lamont Hill dives into three shocking stories that highlight the ongoing struggles for justice and accountability.
    First, he breaks down the firing of Maura Finkelstein, a tenured anthropology professor at Muhlenberg College, who was dismissed after reposting a pro-Palestine message on her personal Instagram. Finkelstein, who is Jewish and a vocal supporter of Palestinian liberation, claims her dismissal violates her academic freedom. Marc dissects the implications of this case on free speech within academia and how institutions respond to dissenting voices.
    Next, the conversation shifts to the latest allegations against hip-hop mogul Diddy. A new accuser, Thalia Graves, has come forward in a lawsuit claiming that Diddy and his former bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, drugged, bound, and raped her in 2001 at Bad Boy Studios in NYC. Graves recounts a harrowing experience where she was given a drink, lost consciousness, and woke up with her hands tied. She alleges the assault was recorded and sold as pornography. While Sherman denies the allegations, reps for Diddy have not commented on this serious claim.
    Marc will also cover how Diddy's music streams have spiked since his federal sex-trafficking arrest. Data shows an average increase of 18.3% in on-demand streams during the week of his arrest, a pattern reminiscent of the spike in R. Kelly's streams following the release of his documentary. Industry experts attribute this trend to natural curiosity as listeners seek to understand the horror of the allegations.
    Join Marc as he unpacks these stories, exploring the intersection of power, accountability, and the fight for justice in both academia and the entertainment industry.
    Don’t miss Marc’s sharp take on these pressing issues. Make sure to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE for more insightful discussions!

    Thank-you for your coverage tonight, Professor Hill, and for showing up, especially while you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. I wanted to stay through the end with y'all but I don't always manage my triggers poppin off when I hear Diddy's name. Ever since Dannity Kane and Makin the Band, Diddy gave me the creeps, to the point I would always say, "that mofo gonna catch a case, fr." Through the years, Diddy has repulsed me. Fast forward to his violent and barbaric assaults on Cassie, and I am completely triggered. I am not playing victim. I am saying sometimes, I just don't want to be triggered. That's all. Great night school session, (sans gross ass Diddy). 🙏🏾

    So the USA doesn't have freedom of speech?In South Africa you will be in so much trouble if you fired someone for their public opinion,this is sad.

    • @jamespatterson6972

      _INCORRECT! USA does indeed have freedom of speech. It's called the 1st Amendment. The aforementioned fired professor WAS NOT fired from their job by federal or state government. The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the GOVERNMENT from making laws respecting an establishment of religion; prohibiting the free exercise of religion; or abridging the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances._

      And they fired her because she's Jewish.

      @@redactedbananas Show me the evidence from your statement. Many non-Jews, including Marc Lamont Hill himself, got fired for similar efforts to fight against oppression and war.

    She was fired for being a Jewish professor and talking about Jewish issues. What about religion freedom and academic freedom?

    we need to work hard at explaining that zionism is the worst thing thats ever happened to jews.

      I can think of at least one thing that’s worse than that 😅

      @TheMadmacs 7 дней назад

      @@MimiKobros obviously i know what you mean, but if you zoom out, look at who created the idea of zionism, then look at who funded it and look at the horror show that is israel today, ie. sitting waiting to be destroyed. at least in their mminds, i would argue the state being deligitimised and palestine being one state is not their destruction, maybe even their emanccipation. when you see anti semitism created the roots of zzionism and funded it, and maintains it in its insanity and impossibility of today. air raid sirens are like ice cream vans, emergenccy bunkers are more common than bus stops. its perpetual horror of war.

    • @TheMadmacs
      @TheMadmacs 7 дней назад

      it might surprise you to know, there was no anti semitism in palestine, the conflict is not based on arabs hating jews, its based on hating white european jews stealing their lands. so yes, this the worst thing thats ever happened to jews, a bit like being in a small cage in a bigger lions cage in a zoo. nobody prevented jews from returining to palestine until zionism declared it wanted/intended to take the land from the palestinians and create a state. 300,000 jews lived in iran, none of them joined the zionists. bagdad was 40% jewish, none of them joined the zionists. it took ww2 ending and the violent creation of israel to get some of those to go to israel where the white european jews badly mistreated them!!!. 10,000 jews still live in iran today.

    On the issue of the boost to Diddys music streams, does it really matter? I can't imagine a situation where he doesn't spend a really long time in jail, so why does him having money matter? Also, there will probably be a number of civil suits i would think that he might get to wiggle his way out of if he can claim his money dried up.

    You always look tired and sick when you do these podcast. I don't understand. You slure your speech, long pauses and just generay do not seem present, Sorry, it is frustrating to listen to you sometime. It is so deifferent than when you appear on other platforms. If you are that tired or sick, then you should not do the broadcast, because it is very evident you are not yoursefl.
