Best advice I ever got when i was young: "only buy with cash". Renting is freedom that most mortgage bag holders don't understand. People don't put value on freedom! You going to take your mortgage and "security" to heaven when you die. Love the video Thanks Pat

Cool place. If neighbours wouldn't bother me, I would love to live an apartment. I hate to hear all day noises from people I don't know.
I live in a house. I would love to stay in an apartment. It's just the crazy rules and extra fees I don't like about apartments.
i love appartments they r so cozy and i feel secure , very convenient close to subway ect esp for people who dont drive , honestly i love appartments and spacious ones r top!

Is better to live in an apartment, it really depends the size of the apartment cause of the location and how much it cost, but you can find a really good apartment if you really look for it!
Basically when I grow up above 24+ imma just live alone and live in a apartment,find a job,earn money..for me it's better to live alone or at least adopt a pet. And also for me it's easier to live in an apartment.

I'm myself pondering about buying a house or living a less troublesome life in an apartment. All those things you mentioned about a house are holding me back, but the idea of living surrounded by nature, kind of make the extra maintenance worth it. The house is definitively more of an attachment, and I want to get rid of them. I don't know what to do.

I have to say, I’m envious of your East coast digs. I’m on the West coast and that 3 hour time difference has been my biggest challenge for trading. My brain doesn’t work well at 6:30am :-/ 9:30am market open time makes a huge difference.
I live in Miami, love your apartement. Lets hope my trading abilities become good soon in that way I can live in a better place. Im full of hope and working a lot on that :)
Living in a apartment is good starter for people moving out of their parents house and its also cheap and sometimes great view from the window

I tip my hat to you good sir. Only the most noble of men may receive it. I personally wanted to see shelves, nightstands, the odd little nick nacks one props on shelves arranged in a particular fashion. Mine has a kermit hand puppet with a scruffy black wig on, one arm around a picture of me an my girl, the other around a stuffed xmas bear. Next to Batman (stuffed), freddy kruger (string doll), & aroma candle.😂😂😂

There's nothing like having the title to your own house. Every month I paid my mortgage plus an extra $1K on the principal. Six years to pay off a thirty year mortgage. :D

Nice place Patrick! I guess the office in garage must have been another place. You can't beat the convinience of a place like this. When I lived in one, I ignored all those amenities and I miss 'em now living in a house. Do lizards make it up to that balcony? Main thing I hate about FL and hot weather places.

yes you are right, you have no worries.. but in long terms it is better to have a already payed house and what you can call your own and you dont have to pay monthly rental fees.. but you are young and its ok. Here in germany everybody is looking to buy a house as soon as they can for to make it easier in the future.

Trade for Freedom only suckers by houses man sorry to break it to you why tie yourself down paying a mortgage for 10/20/30 years when your young like he is when you can save over that time while renting and perhaps one day buy some real estate that will pay you and live wherever you want when you want
I can afford a house, but I would rather rent and live in a condo. There are many many expenses to owning a house, and the property taxes, maintenance, etc. I am renting my condo for $1,600/month here in San Diego (it is a seller market right now to boot) and a house mortgage will easily be doubled that here. So I use the difference and I put it into investments. The money I am saving and putting into investments by renting is working for me as we speak which is making me more money, (saving and making money at the same time!) and I do not have to worry much about anything else. No grass to cut, not wasting water on the grass, no maintenance, save on a gym pass, parking, pool and it goes on. Sure we have to pay fees, but it is NO WHERE near the costs of maintaining a house and what not.
Maybe when the bubble pops again I will consider buying a house and it will be investment for me. I will either consider renting it or living in it until it is once again a sellers market and flip the house and make money. Or if I have a family by them I will consider settling down :). Always make your money work for you!
Yea I had a house before and honestly it just was never ending work. Now I can just focus on making money, traveling and having fun. Then when I get older I can buy my Dream house!
@JackPower @Oh You Know @ Patrick Wieland. If you can make it possible to buy as more houses as you can in smart positions, your houses will pay each other by putting people like you in them and letting them pay all your bills and when you're old you dont have to work anymore.
There are many ways how you can save your self from working in old age and this is one possible way.
Trade for Freedom Trade for Freedom I understand what you are saying, but I feel like we are almost saying the same thing in a different way with different investments. I have investments working for me just the way a house investment would be working to. But I don’t want to buy 4 houses and then have to deal with many asshole renters who could be huge problems and then can jack up the places as well which would cost me more money and unneeded stress for possibly many many many years waiting for the property to rise so I can flip it. And then possibly needing to hire a property manager of some sort which is more money.
I would rather stick to my clean investments, and not having to worry if one of my 4 houses are getting messed up or if the tenant will be sending their rent on time or if I have to evict them and so on.
