I may have missed it but I think you left out one of the most important bits which is the ally x's screen has VRR which will make gameplay so much smoother when dropping below 60 fps. There's only one other handheld on the market that had that and I think that one is an android device.
Rog Ally is just a PC in handheld form, in terms of games since its full Windows you can use any installer like steam, epic, gog, etc. Steam is the preferred storefront for a lot of PC gamers due to various reasons but you can use any of them. All you have to do is just create an account on whichever storefront then buy your games they get added to your library like on Xbox, Playstation, etc and you can download them to any computer that can play them meaning you can login and buy on your actual computer then log into your account on the Ally and just download them there or just do it all right on the ally, you can even plug in a keyboard and mouse if you need to use it like an actual computer.
Its same as pc/laptop. Its easy to install and bootup similar as pc but there is learning curve on using windows on small screen and adjust controls for every game.
I will say getting the ally all up and running is kinda ass because you have to do a crazy amount of updates and such. I recommend persevering because it's very worth it
It’s not a 2. The 1 still does what it does great. For 800? No both worth it if you have it. I’ll just wait for the 2 And they finally came out with transparent shells F you don’t have an ally 1 yes get the x and you won’t need to get the 2. If you have 1 then just hold off until the 2 comes out. It might come out before GTA6 lbs My opinion

Actually vrr was on the original ally. The screen used in the x is the exact same as the original
Vrr kick in above 45 frames . It's still the better option in my opinion
So silly question I've never own a pc but I thinking of getting the rog is it hard to install games? Can I go too the steam page or somewhere else
