I agree that Apple products are considered a form of status symbol, but honestly, not so much for creative individuals. Most of the creative people in universities and different companies will never opt for Apple, quite the opposite. Apple products lean more towards fashion and are not really what you would call open, user-friendly, or easy to integrate with existing or other systems. Those who truly engage with computers tend to have Linux installed. Then, based on preferences and industry needs, they choose different Linux distributions. As Lazar aptly put it, Steve Jobs was primarily a salesman rather than an inventor (Steve Wozniak was the inventor and the one with technical ideas). Steve was someone who knew how to package and sell magic, but not the actual tool.
One more thing. The phrase 'Think different' was actually borrowed from the Amiga campaign and had been used to promote Amiga Computers several years before Apple adopted it, or better said, stole it.
