Shamans have always had tranquil air totem to compete with salvation. Windfury just always took precedence. With druids now giving windfury, now shamans are free to use tranquil air totem.
Not quite. Tranquil Air is inherently flawed as an ability for multiple reasons. 1) Not only WFT, but GoAT (agi) also share the wind totem slot 2) TAT only reduces threat by 20%, instead of 30% 3) By far biggest issue: Totems are group-wide auras, as opposed to blessings being class-wide buffs. Buffs can be clicked off, auras cant. In a 10man raid with a melee/tank grp and a healer/caster group, Tranquil Air is not applicable for the melee/tank group, as it would reduce the tanks threat as well. So TAT is only really an option for caster groups. The vast majority of dmg increasing raid buffs are melee dps increases Might (melee ap) Kings (10%str/agi) WF GoA(agi) SoE(str) TSA(ap) LotP (crit) Battleshout (melee ap) MotW (str/agi)) and caster buffs basically coming down to moonkin aura (spell crit), winter's chill (frost crit) debuff and shadow priests shadow weaving (shadow dmg), it is usually melee dps in need of threat reduction. So yeah, Tranquil Air is still crap, even if we had both Agi and WF taken care of. Keep also in mind that the bigger the raid, the less a totem provides in total, whereas a paladins' blessings scales with the size of the raid. That's why you are encouraged to stack shamans, but not paladins. Because shaman buffs are a liability.
horde can go to deadmines the same way alliance can go to wailing caverns.. both have great items in them for the level range and there’s literally nothing special in stockades lol
This is sooo important for faction balance. People will almost always take the ”strongast” faction, purely based on known facts. Even if horde would get kings, if it wasnt known ahead of time, it would be too late then. So yeah, thanks for spreading awareness!
I dislike these runes tbh, as they will be mandatory to take. Horde hunters will be shoe-horned into being buff bots, not a fan. Same for paladins for Horn of Lordaeron or Ferals for wild strikes. Like-wise as a shaman, I feel cheated out of my class identity, with others getting superior versions of my buffs. Give horde paladins and alliance shamans, replace these runes with fun ones, and end this farce.
@@roffe8751 Yeah tbh I would've left it at that. Runes dont fix a rotten foundation. Vanilla is great for what it is, but you cant fix classes without adressing core issues like raid buffs, mana costs, threat, dps numbers and class design on a fundamental level. If they dont adress pet not scaling with gear for example, the BM rune will start out strong at current lvl cap, but evtl lose power as pet dmg percentage will go down. Runes imo should serve as a little sprinkle of sugar on top of a allready well-rounded spec/class. Like most people mage healing rogue/wl tanking's too much, shaman should be able to do it baseline, not requiring a rune. I do like that the hunter runes unlock more choices to go melee, bm, petless, melee and petless...sadly this causes a lot of runes to exclude each other too, eliminating a lot of choice as well. I have no solution for that one though, sadly.
TBH - i love the idea, but i really think they should move the talents around too, especially for Hybrid Classes in general. Feral e.g. you have powershifting to consider and in balance tree, clarity of omen etc. I think they should have a think about talent trees and move things to where they make more sense, who knows later down the line they may just do this.
Windfury totem will become obsolete if they don’t change it from imbuing the weapon. If Wild Strikes is just a buff, people would rather have a druid instead so they could use poisons or sharpening stones.
I was kind of disappointed to see that it was in fact Hunters that ended up with Kings 🤔 but I guess that makes sense. They were about to get pushed out given their DPS-only setup. Super big buff for them
I don't think shamans will get it. I think some off spec will, which would make major sense. Why? Because they are trying to make all specs viable. So I wouldn't be shocked if Moonkins were to get that buff/aura. The new meta will be feral druids as windfury lords (both sides), shamans for tranquil air, some class spec (like moonkin, but not necessarily them) for blessing of the kings and else to spice things up. Shamans already have the big 4 in their bag: Ranged DPS (Elemental), Melee DPS (Enhancement), Tanking and healing. There is no way they are going to add more stuff on them. If anything it is going to be some off-spec nobody usually plays in raids like frost mage (that's why I mentioned moonkins).
I honestly love this. Also i think some people are saying its too much when they look at all those abilities but forget you only get to pick one from each group.

I'm guessing it will be tied to a totem. One that's important like air.
