- The Book Launch of the story of Robert Long and the most remote family in New Zealand
Thanks Breakfast TV Life on Gorge River, New Zealand's rugged West Coast
2 Days walk from Milford Sound.
Hi its Christan the 17 year old son here! Now 25. This video refers a bit to me and my future and if you would like to know more you can see my website. www.wildkiwi.org Growing up at Gorge River has made me one of the luckiest people alive. I have gone from living in isolation as a kid to being a world traveller. In the last 5 years I have worked and travelled to 50 countries and 6 continents. Honestly I would not be where i am now without my incredible unique upbringing!!
We also have a Gorge River based website www.gorgeriver.org that keep you up to date with what we are up to.
Kind Regards
Christan
That's great you've seen the world. How about your sister? Where is she now?
Hi chris love from india brother :)...have beautiful life
hello christian.. we really admire your family... All the best for your future...
I did watch about this family in 2015 and always thinking of watching on update and searched it today. So happy for them. From Burma. Ps. Merry Christmas to you all.
These folks dont get it, youre the man bro❤
Now the kids are successful in their own way.....love the family
If you saw his children now they are the most balanced people I have seen.
In 2003 stayed in the DOC hut next to the family for 10 days. Absolute gem of a family. Beansprout provided fresh fish and crayfish every day and we shared some venison. Can't wait to go back.
I really enjoyed the book, a very good read. I wish they had showed more of their home and the surrounding area, on the video clip. But on the whole it was good to see it .
I'm reading his wife's book now! Fascinating stuff.
A bit disgusted at the reporter's thinly veiled mockery. I love watching these guys and the kids seem to be well balanced and grounded. I must say, in my own opinion, the quality of life for many of us was much better without TV, video games etc. Look at the crime rates, the depression rates, the mental problems, the suicidal rates and violence etc of children (not all of them) that grew up on TV n video games and were surrounded by family and friends.
Another thing, they had kids knowing one day, they would take off to take their own adventure. The parents job was to do the best they can to raise them well irrelevant of circumstances.. prepping them for their own lives and adventures. The son is a great testimony to the way they're raised. We don't see the sister but again, it's most likely by choice. Judging others is one of the worst traits of man.
Sorry you had this tool asking you these questions robert. Hope to meet you one day
How can you say the kids had a negative up bringing as until his son went away he wouldn't have known any different
I'm looking for a video Ben Fogle interview or stay with Robert Long on Gorge river in new zealand ever aired on BBC Knowledge Asia. Anyone know where i can get it? Either on RUclips or other media.

Stone Hobbit...i haven't received yet your message. Please send it again.
thank you
@@augustinasirat2862 ...Hey! Did you get to find the Ben Fogle interview??? Have you been following Chris and his adventures abroad??
What a disappointing interview... this guy didn't even really listen to Robert Long. Just the big city view on life... exactly why Beansprout and his family live out there in the first place!!
Can't wait to read it!
Way to do it.
