    Common Sense RC makes some really nice braided wire loom in 5/16 and 3/8. I use it on most all of my builds and sell it in the shop. It's convenient to wire everything up into and have it almost like a wiring harness in your full-size vehicles. I love that you do that extra step, it makes such a difference, but almost nobody ever does it. Reef's stuff is always awesome for me, and we sell tons. Plus, he's one of my favorite people in the industry and someone I consider a good friend.

    Just got some 1/8" sleeving for my wiring going to bumper lights and servo wire. I use a small (scrap) piece of 3 to 1 heat shrink tubing to seal my ends (insert joke here). The heat shrink with the adhesive inside seals keeps them in place and looking very nice. Great looking product.

  • @humboldtef
    @humboldtef 5 лет назад +1

    The only thing I would add is that you may want to check (listen) for which direction is forward for the winch motor and wind the spool in the direction that uses forward when winching in. This way you get the most power the servo has available.
    Very nice idea to have everything all in one package, I'm tempted to try one even though I dont have a need for one.

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  5 лет назад

      How can one direction offer more power than the other?

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 5 лет назад

      @@scalebuildersguild a brushed motor spins faster going forward compared to reverse thats all I was after (not sure about brushless) I should have worded that different. I ran a winch in reverse for a year or more and finally realized it and swapped directions, I wasnt a huge improvement but it was an improvement.

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  5 лет назад

      @@humboldtef Ah gotcha, yes, if you're talking about adjusting the timing, then yes, depending on how it's setup, you can get more power out of one direction. I'm no expert on that though, and not sure it applies to a servo winch.

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 5 лет назад

      @@scalebuildersguild I think almost all servos use fixed timing motors. The difference in speed is in the speed controller for the servo winch and the number of Mosfets that are used for each direction. Reverse usually gets less mosfets (than forward) resulting in a slightly slower speed. I'll just finish by saying I believe thats correct but I could be wrong.

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 5 лет назад +4

      I've used quiet a few bumper mounted winches and the servo type is almost always more powerful because they can use a larger motor. I think the reefs also beats RC4WD's price when you factor in having to buy a separate winch controller. IMHO the only reason to use a bumper mount winch is for scale, they're inferior in every other aspect.

    • @scalebuildersguild
      @scalebuildersguild  5 лет назад +1

      What he said, but, the C2X doesn’t have a spot on the chassis for a servo winch, so you’d have to fabricate a solution.
