@@rayxiang6874 The honest problem with Aphelios is that, even though riot designed him to be "GIGABRAIN 200 IQ" to play, his damage is so high that there's no reason to play him affectively like pros do.

Assassins, bruisers and mages go 5-0 in lane. Nobody bats an eye when they go mega carry mode and 1 click you.
ADC goes 5-0 in lane and can get 50/50 crits to deal massive damage. "Absolutely brokened, pls nerf."

i really agree with this. i think aphelios is way overloaded-- but so are a lot of other champions within the game. it's almost as if they're upset that they can't just press one button on the adc and kill. yes, marksmen do a shitton of damage. that is literally their role in a team.

Yeah she’s actually strong right now if you’re good with her. I don’t recommend her into cait and Yasuo but every other lane with her is playable.

Hi Im Faker I legit think the only way to properly balance flamethrower is to actually remove it. It + his busted ass ulti make it the strongest skill in the entire game by far. It’s just stupid somebody thought yhat would remotely be a decent idea

Honestly all they need to do to nerf aphelios is to just remove the interaction with runaans. It makes his mid-late game way too strong with it working with every single gun. Why should he get a single item that makes him so overpowered once he gets it when it doesnt work with draven q, Caitlyn headshot, vayne silver bolts, etc.
Ya Aphelios is pretty trash without Runnans. ADC has been in a shitty state since last year and I think Aphelios is the best new 1v5 Champion they added for ADC players

Ahh yes the big weakness aphelios has “tons of damage”
He means tons of damage with no survivability. He does a lot of damage but gets easily one shot by assassins, mages, and bruisers. He walks up with flamethrower and does crazy damage in an AOE, but then Zed or Khazix walks up and deletes him. Aphelios is the definition of what an ADC should be: Hyper carry late game, should need some peel from team to do damage (not too much though, right now ADCs need TOO much peel from their team to exist which is a problem), can't take a lot of damage unless he's fed/ahead with conq stacked up, and has clear strengths and weaknesses
Friendly reminder: Aphelios has been nerfed numerous times since his release and he's still in this state

well it's kind of bullshit when a 5/0 adc can still get oneshot by a 1/6 katarina or talon, assassins or not
Adc is the only role in the game that can go 8/0 and still die for free with no chance to have lived. When's the last time you saw a 8/0 mid or 8/0 top die to a 1/5 character of any type. ADCs have to walk on egg shells the whole game. Every other class gets to have it easy once they are ahead, because they become unkillable.

It's also the only role that can reliably dps from range, not just burst. Great at taking objectives as well, and generally scales better with items than any other role.
I'm not saying there isn't some fine tuning to be done with balance, but I do think the "gap" isn't as big as people think.
Imo ppl forget the role is supposed to be weak at some stuff because it's strong with other stuff.

I think Yuumi is supposed t be the champ you give your girlfriend when shes starting out and wants to play with you. That's what she should be. My question is do you think some champs should be banned from competitive play? I think its a slippery slope, but often champs are nerfed for competitive as well as casual and ranked. They all operate in the same space and because of that, competitive can be a detriment to the casual experience. It means that anyone trying to learn has to try harder to play. I think this is why people are leaving the game and new people are not joining. League will always have players, but it's not getting new ones, and it's hard to get friends to play it because it's so complex. Yuumi is terrible for competitive because the best can exploit her, but I believe the intention was to create a noob-friendly champ in league.

What Aphelios needs is:
Crescendum chakram bonus damage is no longer increased by crit; chakram bonus damage increased to 35-240% (doesn't need crits to do decent damage, but top end isn't as ridiculous)
Infernum flame waves do 75% bonus damage on a crit (was 100%) (the area already gets bigger, he just doesn't do as much damage to secondary targets on a crit)
Infernum R - secondary targets take 35% damage from overlapping flame waves; bonus spell damage increased by 50 at all ranks, bonus AD ratio increased by 5% (This makes it so that Infernum R actually does something against a single target, but won't be a guaranteed nuke against a clumped up team).
Gravitum only slows enemies moving away from Aphelios; slow increased to 50%, decaying linearly over the duration. (Gravitum shouldn't cover Aphelios' weakness to dives. Instead of free kiting AND chasing, he only gets chasing. Gravitum makes him inescapable, not undivable.)
Gravitum Q root duration reduced to 0.5 seconds, but grounds enemies on cast, and afterwards slows them by 99%, decaying over 1 second. Cooldown reduced to 10-8s (was 12-10s) (Aphelios' root is easier to accomplish compared other roots on ADCs like Jhin or Xayah. A shorter duration on the hard CC, but a longer slow while stopping dashes, lets it be useful without it being lockdown).
Let's be clear, these are nerfs, but this would open up room to buff the parts of him that aren't as good, like:
Severum ult no longer heals on hit. Instead, targets hit by the empowered auto take 30/50/70 magic damage over 2 seconds. Aphelios is healed for 100% of this magic damage dealt as long as he is within 1800 units of the target, and his autoattacks refresh the duration. (This would solidify Severum ult as the sustain option, letting Aphelios leech off the enemy team for as long as he remains in combat with them).
Calibrum ult range increased by 100. (a simple buff, giving the sniper option more range compared to the others to finish people off from afar)
Crescendum turret now applies 25% of on-hit effects. (opening up more room for on-hit Aphelios, synergy with Essence Reaver)
Ult in general - empowered autos can't crit, but do 0-50% bonus damage based on crit chance, affected by crit multipliers (making the ult have more consistent synergy with crit, rather than lucky crits)

one of his weapon which is usually the first one you get in the game gives u an aa range as long as caitlyn so idk what he's complaining about low range, other weapon have a pretty decent range like xayah.
Not to mention crescendum rewards you for being in close range when the main goal for adcs is to stay as far away as possible while surviving to deal damage. He basically has everything any champ could ask for.
Insane lifesteal with severum, aoe long range cc potential with gravitum - which even slows every attack like Ashe, insanely high aoe damage with infernum, long range damage with calibrum, close range damage with crescendum, free attacks that don't stop movement while giving movement speed with severum q. And the fact that the q on every gun gives him additional autos for free.

Imagine an ADC that can fight at long-range, close-range, snipe you with a Q just like Caitlyn can with her Ultimate, can put up a tower, has a weapon specifically for life steal, can slow you, root you, scale harder than any other adc, take 80% of your hp with one auto-attack, and has a flamethrower that can not only clear waves, but can also hit multiple targets behind 2 lines of minions.
Someone at Riot probably thought he was smart and said: Let's make an ADC that can do what 10 other ADCs can do, what could go wrong?!

Not even gonna mention how that Kalista is actually inting throughout this entire game, but I swear a lot of the problems with the champ just come from ignorant people not knowing or learning the champ itself. Everyone crys about "wah wah 200 years idk what it does, nerf it riot wah wah" instead of actually learning whats happening and countering it. Like nocturne ulting INTO aphelios with crescendum stacks AND ult AND fed kindred hitting him from behind. Like what the fuck do you expect to happen? Or Kalista being a level down walking up to a 3/0/2 aphelios with 12 stacks of chakrams AND full conqueror and having 0 resistances built and getting crit by it, like what are you even doing. Hes just like jinx, fast firing crit champion with range, aoe, and snowball potential. Jinx however is much easier to understand and follow compared to him so no one crys about jinx when she just snowballs in a teamfight and gets a penta, but when they see aphelios do something cool ever its "riot nerf it, 200 years KEKW ???????????".

Aphelios is a design failure since he takes way more knowledge of the character to play against him than to play as him. To balance him there will have to be a major change to his character. I honestly don't have a clue how to fix him though.
I am assuming he was supposed to be LoL version of the Invoker from DotA. The problem of moving the Invoker to the ADC role is it gives a champion with a ton of abilities great autos as well. The Invoker also required a lot of knowledge and reaction time for the person playing him. You can get by with just autos and spamming abilities on aphelios. Invoker was balanced by an absurdly high skill floor aphelios does not have that.
