I'm 48yrs old & still cry every time I hear this. That shit was so unfair. They took him from us, way too soon.
True. Slippin' by DMX is what does it to me. Because the first time I heard it, he had already passed.

Another one from Scarface - Now I feel ya
@@simplemaths7611 I'll add it to my list!
2Pac does the first verse. Yes he did.
Pac was the first and third verse. Scarface was the second. Scarface ended it by saying a prayer 🙏 👍
Once I got into it, I started to hear a difference in the second verse. It took me a second to realize that Scarface added the prayer after Pac had died.
@@ABoomerReacts in the music video for the song he also added a prayer for big after the pac part. As an agnostic growing up (first heard this song in around 3rd-4th grade when pac had just passed), the only prayer I knew and would recite at any type of funeral in my head when the time came for prayer.

Thanks, Zach! That makes me very happy.
A good example of an OG version of a song is "still I rise" (a dedication to Mya Angelou) his verse is incredible.
Cool! Is there a remixed version, too? If so, should I only react to the OG or should I compare the 2 in one reaction?

I wasn't sure who started but once Scarface came in, I could tell. Hey, Letter to My Unborn is set to post on Monday
I just want to say that I have had amazing reminiscence doing these videos with you. It is very nice to watch you listen with a mind more open than space, and give genuine feedback, it feels good to share intimate knowledge and feelings of what we blacks have gone through, is going through and to be open to listen to up give prophetic insight into our future as far as being able to survive the onslot of generational beatings systematically. Thanks for your time my friend.
Thank you, Leroy! I really appreciate you telling me that.
I’m pretty sure pac wrote this song close to his death, one of his last songs.
Thanks for the info. It def makes the song more bittersweet.
in 2019 Scarface Ran for the Houston city council
Really? Politics, huh? Did he win?
He did not win, but he did drive the conversation
I am so glad people comment on real rap rather than the junk they call hiphop today!
There is a deep rabbit hole of information about OG songs vs posthumous songs. There's a forum where the users have based their life on pacs work, raised money and actually purchased the original recordings. They have cataloged the dates he recorded each song, who was there, who originally produced it etc. it's fascinating and new information is still coming out in 2021.
As far as OG, 99% of those songs have pacs vocals and by remixing (for intended retail release) they attempt to modernize or finish the production of the song. Some are made in the image of the originals, or on some, the mood of the song is completely changed. Some came out better while others were destroyed. Many ppl are very upset with the estate for the handling of the posthumous releases and are fighting hard for them to release the songs in their OG form (even though 95% of them have leaked)
Holy shit! What a great post! Thanks for all the info. It's a subject that really intrigues me.
whats the name of the forum? :o
Chest out chin up and smile thu it all! I ge the feeling you really enjoy some of these songs its quite inspirational because it seems so out of the ordinary for someone of your demographic to tap into this genre. Thanks so much for the sub! I really do enjoy some of these songs. Did you watch my Top 10 from last June?
@@ABoomerReacts not yet. But i will tap in
Hey whippersnappers 😆 luv it
Tupac was a Scarface fan
Scarface ft. Tupac - Smile
Love me some Scarface - "The king of the South" his presence and delivery is one of a kind and unmatched in his own right..
I would believe Smile for me now is the original as unreleased raps by Pac had the instrumentals normally added without any of PACs input.. so i would believe this would be the same..
The term OG is synonymous in Rap and Hip Hop for anything original.. I love the OG version of Runnin' which has both Pac and Biggie on it but the more famous version sounds terrible to me.. maybe cos i heard the OG version first.. and the more famous version sounds.. more soft than its original.. each to their own.. but imma always cringe when i hear the latter version played ..
Edit
Im laughing at how you pictured Pac next to Scarface when he said that prayer lol .. I believe 90% of songs released posthumously, Pac would have only recorded the verses.. and the instrumental was added for release post 96.
Thanks for the info! Do you have any suggestions of an OG version vs a remix version that I can do?

They made this in the studio together....
Jay Prince is the man in the streets and he's about the only one who could have brought them to together because Jay Prince was from the south not the East nor West
Do you think J Prince would have even attempted to ask Biggie to be on Smile if Pac was still alive?
Bone thugs did a song with Tupac and then turned around and did a song with biggie would he be mad who knows? Would they have told him they did a song with biggie the world may never know.
But to be honest I don't think Tupac is dead but I don't think he's coming back either he explains it in blasphemy the song
@@stevenrawls1986 I'm doing a Bone Thugs n Harmony song soon. Change the World
@@ABoomerReacts J Prince could have attempted to ask Biggie, but I don't believe Tupac would have approved of that. Their beef was still hot at the time, considering all the Biggie disses on the Makaveli album. The only way I see that song coming out with all three versus would be if Pac and Biggie would have talked out their differences. Would have love to see what would have been of that song if that actually happened. It's already a classic but all 3 of them on the track would have been legendary.
@@ABoomerReacts great song you will love it they did a song with Tupac as well called Thug Luv
Tupac was a poet first so, he definitely wrote his own lyrics. The part Scarface added at the end was from his own song, “Never seen a Man cry(until I watched that Man die).
I reacted to that Scarface song but I didn't make the connection between the 2.
Pleaae react to more Scarface: A Minute To Pray & A Second To Die, I See A Man Die, Now I Feel Ya, On My Block, Birn Killer, Someday, Look Me In My Eyes

*”Inhale The Sherm Smoke, Visualize The Flames🔥Will I Be Smothered By My Own Pain?” -Pac/Smile*

Can u do 2pac white man's world
Thanks! Once I got into the song, I started to hear a difference. White Man's World is on my list and very near the top. Should be out soon!
im just now learning the term OG… well in this sense.
It's confusing since OG is already used to describe a person. These songs are original versions so they should be OV.
Tupac - Letter To My Unborn Child.
It's on my list. You and another person requested it. Actually, your request for Thugz Mansion is higher on the list.
Besides the Eminem produced album, I think they did a decent job releasing posthumous albums. Most of the OG versions weren't finished or mixed. It was pac recording as many songs as possible, thinking he would have time to comeback and finish it... That's why some of the songs may contain similar lines
I agree with your assessment. Of the Pac remixes that I've heard, I don't like the Eminem ones. Sometimes I wish that the remixes change the OG too much. For instance, Still I Rise.
It's interesting (yet understandable) that Biggie wouldn't appear on the song at the time. That said, producers have had NO problem putting them on songs together AFTER their death. THAT said, there are actually 2 songs out there they legitimately recorded together before their beef started - a posse cut they did called "Let's Get It On" featuring Heavy D and Grand Puba; and "House of Pain" featuring Big Stretch.
And neither song was officially released?
@@ABoomerReacts Get ready to nerd out on FUN FACTS! So, the "Let's Get It On" song is on an album of the same name by a guy named DJ Eddie F and the Untouchables (track #7); the album is actually streamable, as is the song. As for "House of Pain," it was originally recorded for Biggie's "Ready to Die" album but scrapped. After their deaths, the vocals from Biggie's verse were remixed into a new version of the song with 2pac (albeit not with lyrics from the original version for some reason) featuring Nas and Mary J. Blige. Personally, I prefer the original version... BUT, it may be a good song to do an O.G. vs. Remix reaction to.
@@HarryWilmington If not from the original, where were 2Pac's lyrics from?
@@ABoomerReacts My bad, slight mix-up: his verse on the "Runnin' (Dying to Live)" remix are different from his lyrics on the original version of THAT song - the "House of Pain" ones are the same
@@HarryWilmington I kinda remember that from my reaction to Runnin'
Check out This can't be Life by Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, and Scarface. The song is a very heartfelt song and Scarface's verse can just break your heart. The lyrics of the song are really emotional.

@@smokezilla13. Now I Feel Ya was on my list. And I'll add the other one. Thanks!
You should look into J Prince lol since you had questions.. one of the most interesting people in hip hop.
Really? I had never heard of him before this reaction.
An OG (original gangsters) refers to the old rappers as opposed to the new ones of today NOT the version of the songs. So when that person asked you to react to the OGs they were asking you to react the the old great rappers.
From what I understand, when someone requests the OG of a Tupac song they are asking me to react to the track that Pac recorded but never officially released. And the remix is the OG after it has been worked on and updated and then officially released on a posthumous album. For a lot of Tupac songs, we get to hear both versions.
@@ABoomerReacts That’s not what an OG is. We’ve been using that term in the black community for forever. Maybe that person heard that term and didn’t quite know what it meant either.
I just noticed that there’s other black people in this thread telling you what a OG is and they’re saying the same thing that I’m saying. I’m black and that’s a black term. And the term doesn’t just pertain to rap. We use it in other descriptions, but the OG is always a PERSON not a thing.
@@thisblackgirloverhere9013 I was confused as to why unreleased 2Pac songs were called OG. It didn't make sense to me because I knew it meant original gangster. OV for original version would be better but OG is what the original recordings are called. ruclips.net/video/uA7dwZiKzZM/видео.html
@@ABoomerReacts 😂. You didn’t know what OG meant or we wouldn’t still be having this conversation. Y’all white people need to stop acting like you already knew black terms AFTER we tell you. We can see through that and y’all look silly doing it. Just FYI. 😁
What the hell you talking about, in music when we say OG we mean the original recording of an artist we ain't talking about the streets right now, and yes we also use it in reference to an old rapper but in this case we also use OG as an original recording because 2pacs music has been remixed and also edited throughout the years so much that people now these days don't know which is OG and which one is the remix version. Boomer keep doing your thing ,you're doing an excellent job btw ,and don't listen to the haters and the ignorance out there .
Pac wrote all his song's... Alot of his word's in his lyrics are song's.
Hey how you doing sir, could you react to UGK - Shattered Dreams
Thanks for the suggestion, Carlos! I'll add it to my list!
Will someone pls explain the line "selling my soul for materials, cars and bi***s" cuz i don't think that Pac did that, he himself said that he never sold his soul
He's saying he lost focus of things that were more important, due to money, women, cars etc
Yep and most of time pac is telling what not to do. He blessed us with all of him. The good the bad and the ugly. No faking in his blood. Gotta remember this was a time when most TV and entertainment showed happy ending. For example most black people what The Cosby Show at a time when 80 percent of black families where not like that. The struggle was either hidden or just simply blamed on a lack of education
I think overall he did not, but there are moments where we all give in to temptation or go for the physical or instant gratification. I think that he acknowledges this as a battle within himself and humanity in general.
He never sold his soul but all eyez on me was a clear effort at commercial success that came with party songs, women and fame... Previous albums were more militant oriented.
@@KANYETHEGIANT228 well said😎✌️

I don’t think the making of this song happened the way you mentioned it. I think it was an original collaboration between the two. Pac and Scarface worked together to make this song. Because there’s a music video for the song featuring both of them and it seems they shot the music video together before 2pac passed away.
Hi Mohamad! In this video, I do say that Scarface and 2Pac worked on this together and recorded it together in August 1996. Pac is not in the video, though, because he was dead by then. They used a guy who looked like Pac.

Pac and BIG were friends but the BS hip hop politics made them enemies... "Me against the world"
And "tupacalypse"
