I adore this type of video where you look at the what is being offered in ready to wear and then show us how to recreate the look in our own sewing. I am also drawn to the boho flows look so I will definitely be doing flowy silky tops with big sleeves. That has been a staple in my wardrobe forever.
What a packed full video of amazing ideas Sally. Thank you for doing all of this work. While I love the idea of floaty, romantic blouses, with easy wearing puffy sleeves, the style just doesn't look good on me - too much fabric.. You've given me some ideas of other blouses I could try though, to simplify them. While, in my head and heart, I still feel like I'm in my 30s and could still wear high waisted, wide pants, the reality is I turn 60 next month. Age, gravity, a petite but stocky frame, and not much waist definition, means my "girls" end up practically meeting the top of high waisted pants! My ribcage disappears. 🤭😉 I can't wait to see, and admire, what you end up sewing. Thanks always for inspiring so many of us.
Aw I’m sure you could wear exactly what you want to and look lovely but your description did make me chuckle 🤭 I’m glad to have inspired you for other blouses. Thank you for watching xx
Thanks Sally, i really enjoy this type of vlog. I've left off the collar on the patina, and it really works well. I like the idea if adding a ruffle along the edge too.
I love your take on incorporating trends in an everyday way, these vlogs are one of my favourites. Difficult to pick a favourite but I can envisage a few new blouses in broderie anglaise for sure.❤
I’ve been noticing the ruffles on a v neck top as well. I think the Archer is perfect for that. I also bought some late 80s and 90s vintage patterns because they have the slight forward and dropped shoulder that I’ve seen in stores.
Great video 😊 love a big poofy sleeve, I’ve never worn shorts out unless they were on holiday where no one knows me 😂 I like the idea of the smart tailored ones though, thank you for the great ideas x
Thanks for the great video Sally - you have inspired me to use the lovely white broderie anglaise in my stash - I would like to try the Fibre Mood Norma blouse - my namesake!!
Love this type of vlog, thanks for all the time and effort you put into preparing it 😊 (I’m loving the wide leg trousers but, like you, not sure about venturing back to cargo skirts!)
What a great video! Thank you for the pattern suggestions - particularly the knit trousers as I want to make a pair and haven’t seen those patterns before 😊
Great vlog and got me thinking about floaty blouses which I would love and also the cargo skirt. I have got the Ilford pattern on my list to make this year so right on trend. Im 5’4 so high legged trousers may help me too. Im off to check out Sezane now, thank you ❤
Hi, thanks for another thought provoking and inspiring video. I’m missing the lovely introduction you normally have with the very relaxing music, a small thing I know but, 🙁.
Thank you for watching! Ah I’m sorry I was experimenting with getting straight into the subject haha. I’ll think about putting it back in if it’s missed xx
Thanks for this excellent video, so well researched. I have been wanting to make wide leg Ponte trousers any suggestions where to source good fabric would be appreciated. Also tips on pressing Ponte.
Hmmm try somewhere like Guthrie & Ghani I hope I’m spelling that correctly. I know their fabric are great quality and they usually have a variety of different colours. Pressing, I always use a clean T towel or pressing cloth for anything that has polyester in it I hope that helps x
I like the lace blouse look.

Oh, “ Fool Me Once”, yes! That quilted black moto jacket was🔥🔥🔥. That was a look back in the 90s!
