He's only 20 and his shoulders are as wide as Howard's, I can't even imagine how much of a man he'll look in 2-3 years. He still looks like a kid out there even though he towers over the majority of the league. Whenever he got the ball in the low block, more often than not he couldn't even move the defender posting up. All in all he's got the shooting touch and the size and mass that Hakeem and Joel have. In due time. Just not sure if he'll contribute substantially to a team like the Warriors rn with the 3 best players heading towards the wrong side of 30 but who knows, he might make a jump next season. Only time will tell.
That’s not wisemens game. Not everyone has to be an iso post scorer. Theres very few of those in nba history. There’s more than one archetype of bigman. He fits more of the bam Adebayo, Dwight Howard,. Tyson chandler type of mold. Defense, rebounding, athleticism, learn one or two simple moves, and have a secondary skill. In his case, it’s his shooting. He will likely be a prototype 2way stretch finisher. A lot of pnr, dump of passes to him sealing defenders, running in transition for easy buckets, lobs, putpacks, and the occasion post touch to whatever his simple but effective go to move is. If he’s not an above average post scorer now, he’s never likely to be. He just needs to perfect his current game, and model his game after someone elite who plays like him rather than force the action to be something he’s not.
@@TheIcemanthomas Ya lost me at defense. Looked lost out there more than half the time. Granted he was 19 starting the season and barely played college basketball but still, we can only hope he gets better on the defensive end as he gets more experience. The thing is, HE doesn't even know what he plays like, he can become abd model his game after anybody since he's so young and probably still getting used to his body and the speed of the NBA game. I'm just saying, the best route for him to go down is Embiid's since he's arguably the best center in the game RIGHT NOW and is "someone elite" like you mentioned, offensively and defensively. He's taller than Bam, Dwight and Chandler at 7'1, he definitely doesn't fit in that category. Plus he could be more than them. Howard and Chandler don't have a jump shot and I'm pretty sure he hit more threes than them combined in his rookie season. Bam is clearly just not the player he'd end up playing like.
@@ohyeahitsthatoneguy I think u need to listen to the thinking basketball podcast. They had a great discussion on the types of centers and how they impact the game. It’s way too late in the game for him to still be trying to model his game after someone. And I’m speaking more on potential on defense. BecauSe his profile fits that of a defensive stud. He’s just hasn’t had much high level competitive play considering he opted out of his college season after a few games. He’s essentially fresh out of high school. A lot of raw talent. The nba is the place to develop you game that already has a base, and add to that foundation not build the foundation itself. Those types of prospects rarely ever work out. I think his best bet based on his current profile is more STAT than embiid. U don’t just relocate that style of play. That’s natural talent. U can’t teach what embiid does.
Am from Cameroon 🇨🇲 and I can tell you guys that there are many good talents other there that just need to be putted on the spotlights. Many kids are working and playing hard but have no help or no chances to be professional or even something closer. Sadly
I know this is an old comment; but Hakeem is very much alive and well. He's in great shape and still mentors players at his personal gym. Out of all the retired 90s greats, hes probably the healthiest looking. Bill Russell is alive and still sits courtside at NBA events. Hes looking old; but mentally is all there.
Love to see it; I hate how Centers have to sit at the 3 point line these days. If Embiid continues to dominate the league will get back to the drawing board I promise u.
When we take all the centers in league history and the elite guys like embiid the most important question is, who’s package is the biggest? It’s hard to say, but I know some fans are in the know
Embidd is good, he has high impact offensively and defensively... But I think Simmons makes the team championship level due to his constant pressure driving and passing offensively
You can thank Doc for getting after him regarding his conditioning and diet. Embiid's always had the talent but never had anyone in the league push him before Doc showed up. Look back at previous post-season games, you'll see him stumbling down the court, utterly gassed after 10-12min of playtime - NOW he's able to persevere, play through full quarters without blowing like a busted bellows. That's 100% Doc Rivers' input... Next up is some roster swaps and we might actually see them in the Finals
Embiids improved 3pt percentage is because he’s not taking as many. He had to take more in years past cause the spacing was off. He’s always been a great shooter the new system just highlighted it.
Blame Brett Brown His system revolves around letting Ben Simmons have the ball 80% of the time to either drive to the basket, pass to the 3, or drive and pass to the 3

And he's even better now! MVP
Shaq with that shove lol
6:05 man! That is filthy!!
Most skilled big man ever
After Hakeem
After JOKIC are Embid and Hakeem
4:52 I hope we're gonna see it again. Hawks vs 76ers lessgoo!! GL both teams!
3 of the 5 best players in the league- Embiid, Joker & Giannis are centers...& they are all timers.
Giannis is a big man but he's not playing center
Philly fan forever
ECF will be an over achievement. Joel is 27. Ben is 24. One is top-3 MVP and the other top-3 DPOY. Daryl Morey made minor changes to catapult from first round exit to #1 seed in the east with Doc at the helm. The real Morey touch will occur at the end of the season 👉 2021-22 76ers Lowry, Curry, Leonard, Simmons and Embiid. Process completed ✅
If Hakeem is the dream Embiid is a nightmare for opponents. A little more conditioning and he could be the most feared in the league today
The process is so much better than the joke.
The "Joke" is so much better shooter, passer, rebounder, playmaker, scorer and hi is way more clutch.
But plz more of these signature mini documentary
Some coach from the Warriors BETTER show James Wiseman this. Embiid and Olajuwon are the perfect players to model his game after and not Garnett and Bosh
Garnett is a post player when he was young man. Him, Timmy and Dirk are the three PF/C that really pave the way today's Big men play the game.
@@chaolee4956 those 3 weren't as big or tall as Wiseman, he's gotta model his game after centers not pfs, even though those 3 did play the 5. He's got the physical attributes to be just as big if not bigger than Embiid if he sets his mind to it and hits the gym which I think he is doing rn.
U can’t teach what embiid does.
awesome video
Players with the most polished post games in the league: Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, Domantas Sabonis, Anthony Davis, Karl Anthony Towns, among others.
MVP
Absolute beast
I love post basketball. Way easier and more entertaining than jacking up contested 3s.
See ya on Broad St this summer big guy!
best centre in the nba
Yes after JOKIC
Howd I not see this? Embiids the best in the world
Am from Cameroon 🇨🇲 and I can tell you guys that there are many good talents other there that just need to be putted on the spotlights. Many kids are working and playing hard but have no help or no chances to be professional or even something closer. Sadly
Hakeem looking down from heaven with wilt and bill saying our legacy is secure
I know this is an old comment; but Hakeem is very much alive and well. He's in great shape and still mentors players at his personal gym. Out of all the retired 90s greats, hes probably the healthiest looking.
Bill Russell is alive and still sits courtside at NBA events. Hes looking old; but mentally is all there.
That man was 14 in your list this year
Once he stopped settling for 3s and started posting up more he ascended to MVP level
4:51 my favorite Embiid dunk so far
Do Luka Step back and Carmelo Mid Range!
I think it's a strategic thing
Teams aren't really used to guarding the post these days. They're mostly wired to guard against lobs for bigs
Embiid and Jokic are making Centers a comeback
We should also not overlook Doc’s influence, as Joel was not as motivated under Brett Brown.
It's that combined with Doc posting Embiid up a lot more this season. His post footwork is absurd and Doc is utilizing it to its fullest potential
MVP 🏆
Love to see it; I hate how Centers have to sit at the 3 point line these days. If Embiid continues to dominate the league will get back to the drawing board I promise u.
When we take all the centers in league history and the elite guys like embiid the most important question is, who’s package is the biggest? It’s hard to say, but I know some fans are in the know
Thanks
he IS the PROCESS
give this man the mvp
Trust the process
MVP MVP MVP MVP MVP
Embiids improved 3pt percentage is because he’s not taking as many. He had to take more in years past cause the spacing was off. He’s always been a great shooter the new system just highlighted it.
Blame Brett Brown
His system revolves around letting Ben Simmons have the ball 80% of the time to either drive to the basket, pass to the 3, or drive and pass to the 3
Do tatum's side step/stepback
Go 76ers!
