the running shot looks like the famous forest slow mo shot in Sherlock Holmes 2, great one
Idk of anything from Sherlock Holmes 2 can be considered "famous" lol
Oh yaa Gavin from slow mo guys filmed all the slow mo in that movie :D
I loved the running shot!! I’ve been watching Peter McKinnon and Matti Haapoja for a while now, but there filmmaking still kinda starts to become the same every video. I love that you guys keep trying new things, which makes every video just a true pleasure to watch!!
Oh you guys beat me to it.....great job nevertheless.
Quick tip for you guys and this can serve you to stop the camera specially if you don't have a crew of 3 persons.
1- At the end of your rope or cable make a V neck to slow down the rig.
2- use electrical tape and wrap it around the cable near the end where you want the rig to stop. Make it in a way that is gradually growing so to speak, to make it take the shape of a funnel.
Like I said if you are a one man team, this will help you not to brake your camera
Another idea would be to fix an elastic cord on both the camera and the upper tree (like in bungee jumping)
7:00 "We should most probably tape those ends but WATEVER. yOU LIVE AND YOU LEARN, NEXT TIME." 3 seconds later " wow, yeah u should watch that. LO ;D
When their production quality is so good but they have less than 100k
Production quality is top notch but let’s be honest. How many people are interested in a camera on a line. I’m but I don’t know how many other people are.
HerreDePerre I mean peter McKinnon has millions and I’m sure if he made a video on a homemade cable cam he would get plenty of views, and people would love it.
idk bro ask people who dont subs
4:50 This is why doing what you love doing is always fun. Imagine if this was some office work. Someone would have a heart attack.
Nice one we used our Climbing Gear to make a Cable Cam.
A few years ago we made our own Ziplines so we thought how cool would it be to make a cable cam.
The Photo at the beginning was our CableCam.
I love how you are all smart thinkers and able to come up with solutions on the spot!
Always so nice and creative !
Great One!!!
Love The "Saga"
And Congratulations on the Upgrade
Would love to see a review or something about it!!!
You guys are AWESOME! Love your enthusiasm for trying new things, and experimenting. Actually stumbled across your site, while watching another channel. Best to you guys in your future adventures.
Yes I did hit the Subscribe button.
imagine that pointed towards the horizon with the cyclist riding in a misty forest and the bike throwing dust and dirt in the air filmed with a telephoto lens 🥵
That footage would be sooo good!
Yes with a telephoto lens
This was such a dialed video!!! Keep making more of them
i love coming up with ideas and then trying to produce those ideas in my head into reality. Cool video!!!

@@ckt3315 Nice Videos Bro..💫
@@crewkings4399 thank you
You guys rock!
Awesome idea! Other people have already said it, but I also want to chime in about figuring out a way to gradually slow the camera down so you don’t crash into a tree at the end if you are unable to stop it with your hand for some reason.
Awesome guys..
This is so cool, good work guys!
Thank you!
DAAAMN!! that looked cool
This is such a cool and inspiring video during this time
dudue you really enjoy that so it make it organic , amazing job on it
Awesome video... Would love to see some kind of cinematic edit (music, colorgrading) at the end with the material you shot
Keep up the great work though
Dope Man ...💯💯💯👊👊You all slay..
6:25 Stevens laugh cracks me up
Superb video guys! Liked how you assembled your small wheeled carriage and experimented with different methods to get the right look.
Some tips: Clothes line steel wire is coated with plastic and very strong, so the run will be quieter. Certainly, your custom-made cable would be longer than a clothesline, and more useful. I bet yours was pricey and heavier.
The other tip is stopping the sliding rig. If you have ever been on a true zip line, there is a loose cable with an eyelet that slides just before the endpoint, about 10 to 15 feet before the final stop to slow people, or in your case, your rig zooming down the line. With a buddy controlling it, this would be a safer way to slow and stop your flying rig versus how you're doing it now (12:41). You could then hang it higher too!
Hope this helps!
Cheers! Frederic in Montréal.
This is super cool!
2nd shot was dope
Where did you download your orange lens flare from you guys use a lot?
You guys are actually such handymans!
Next step is to motorize the whole thing😉Would love to see something like that!
You can make a break for it with a bored out piece of rubber tied to a rope, or something similar. When the trolley hits the rubber, you can use the rope to slow down the momentum at a much more gradual pace.
good job guys
You guys should add a motor to the rig. You could have an extra wheel on a spring to hold tension so the motor wheel can grip then and a stepper motor if you wanted slow, precise movement or a dc motor for fast, motion controlled shots. Love the videos!
That would be a great idea, maybe for version 2!
You can really do so much with the Ronin S that people don't think of. This was pretty sweet although that camera crash scared me quite a bit! lol and I did an overhead set up with my ronin if anyone cares
Surely do this over a stream or something that would be awesome
this channel is soo under rated
Thank you!
Yea people really should support you lot more
YOU GUYS A EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE......the things u have...to make other things....and such awesome friends.......such awesome locations.....
This is cool
PERFECT
Love the running shots, will be good with a motorcycle 🤔
You can connect rope to Rohnin to slow it down at the end also it will be helpful to reset the camera...
You guys SMILE the same way...
that was coool
So cool
Good job
Hi guys! Mazing vid! What video transmisor do you use for this? Thanks!
7:02 and that's exactly why I'm making this suggestion. Look at using Dyneema rope. Very low stretch and very strong for it's weight. A lot of winches are now coming with Dyneema and the marine industry is moving to Dyneema rope. Also no 7:02
Amazing Content
Loving it guys! Interesting idea! Big fan of the DIY content.
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome videos sorry I’m sooo late
you should maybe do a video explaining why you chose to get something like the fuji x-t4 rather than something like the new canon r5 or r6, idk that would be pretty cool to see
what lenses you use for vlogging with the XT4?
maybe a reel of fishing line would be an upgrade to the current braking system? Possibly with a little motor to wind it back up if you want to get fancy. But just putting a safety line on the thing and running behind it would have worked too.
*You 3 crack me up!* I'll be honest...I think the Skydio 2 would give you those shots on the bike through the trail without a problem. Just watch those small branches..less setup time too. Still good stuff! Nailed the shot at 13:20 though!
lit man
thats sweet good job you got cable good call
clap clap clap on the biking
lol
Why not Add Towels or a Seies of foam cups to slow down the rig??
As the rig grabs the first cup the slower end will keep the xameravfrom shock as well
This is cool 🚗 🚗
cool !!!
His
laugh xD
Efforts 👌
Can you guys make a video about how to shoot broll on cameras that doesn't have 120fps ? I really need that
Cooool
Where did you get the cable?
We want to see epic phone gimbal hacks
Where did you buy these metal pulleys?
You need to use Dyneema rope once you go beyond 20 feet because the sag is very low with Dyneema (also known as Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylen).
I love filmmaking. You get to do all sorts of insane things to thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
Hey mate, thanks for the video.
What's that gimbal model?????
The link is broken.
I saw some other guys build their own DIY cable cam and they just threw a couple bath towels over the cable as a bumper brake to catch the slider.
I love xt4
Which metal cable does the cable cam use
