hi, I just came across you video and I like it, planning to take the same trail for my next hiking trip in finland. could you please explain to me how to get the huts you used for sleeping at night (do we have to book them in advance or its for free)?, thanks, Hamda

Hi! Thank you so much that you like my video :) So cool that you're going to do this hike and I'm 100% positive that you will also find it absolutely amazing!! You cannot book the huts and they are for free :) The only thing is that they could be full, but we didn't experience that at all. In most huts we spend the night alone and in two huts we met other people who were staying there too for the night, which was also really fun! The huts are simple but great. They also have a stove were we cooked our (easy) diner on!

I am a Finn myself and once did the same Karhukierros. i love to travel myself and watch a lot of videos and ideas on youtube and this came up me and i liked it a lot especially angles of views and birds of course! Happy summer an let us go this covid thing ;) !

Hello Amber, can you please advise how big backpack you choose for this trail? Im planing to hike, but this will be my first hike, and I can't decide how big bag to buy? 40, 50 or 60L. Thanks in advance.

I'm so sorry for the late response! It depends whether you are used to take a lot with you, or whether you are a more a minimalist. But I would advise 50L

It's not so much the size you should be thinking about, it's the weight. A man shouldn't pack more than 33% of his own body weight and for a woman that figure is 25%. If one exceeds those guidelines, the hike will be agony. Naturally, the lighter you are able to pack, the easier the hike will feel. Oh, and invest in good, weatherproof hiking shoes (they don't have to be boots).

@@daydreamer7618 Thank you for advice. I havn't seen anywhere the % ratio you mentioned, this was new to me, thanks for the tip. And ofcourse, we were aware about the shoes, that it is very important (if not the most important) part of the gear. Must be true if your feet are hurting, wet and uncomfortable, it will not be an enjoyable hike.
