I give pause and distrust to any vaccinations connected to our expensive, ineffective and sometimes deadly health care system. I want nothing more than to visit 🇬🇭 but the required immunizations are a definite roadblock for me.
Jerry S Thank You for sharing. There are options when it comes to getting or not getting shot(s) for people who want to travel and enjoy countries in Africa, as explained early in video. :-)
Agreed. I was literally planning my trip to the continent, but I refuse to have vaccines which poison my body. I'm researching another way. I travel a lot and live in Asia, I have never had any vaccines. It would be so disappointing to not be able to visit the African continent because of vaccines!
@@melanininafrica3019 But note that the physician said that they have "NEVER" had a problem. There are risks with traveling anywhere in the world but white folks generally try to scare the shit out of Black people who want to go back home to visit Africa. That said, people should simply just get the required vaccines they need prior to going. And by the way, people travel to Ghana every single day with no problems at all.
@@melanininafrica3019 i visited Ethiopia and I didn't get any vaccines now I am planning to go to Tanzania so I am looking up what I need to get before I go. I hope I don't have to get any vaccines I really really hate vaccines
I so appreciate you taking the time to record your mom's vaccination appointment. I love how thorough the provider was. Don't know who she is, but her patience and clarity are also appreciated. I've had other travel vaccines before and they typically rush you in and out. This deep dive on information makes it a little harder for me to know what to do though. I was all set to take the vaccination, but I thought serious side-effects were only for those 60+. To now hear they apply to 50+ makes me nervous. I'm also reading the comments and discovering otherwise healthy people have had bad reactions to the shot. I definitely don't want to get YF and mosquitoes love me long time, but I just don't know about this shot now. I'm thankful you posted this so that whatever decision I make, I at least have legit information to support.
Thank you for sharing your comment and concerns. I understand it can be a tough decision and thankful also for the doctor being informative about the shot. Especially with explaining other options that my doctor did not explain when I received over 3 years ago. We have not had or experienced any negative side effects as of date.
Hello im so happy i came across your video. Im happy you documented this in this format so we could all see. My question is dont you need the yellow fever vaccine proof to even apply for a Visa ? Im just little confused. Please my Family want to Visit but we Have Religious reasons why we dont want the Yellow fever. Any help would help.
Great video, I could sense the mother daughter love. I recently traveled to Africa and had I known, I believe I would of gotten a waiver for yellow fever. I prefer to be as holisitc as possible, like mom, also I am skeptical about the demograohics of yellow fever are some groups more vulnerable thann others? Glad your mother had a great trip ....Ase!!
Hi Jeffery I'm also into the holistic approach. Would you be willing to share the info on how to get the waiver.. thank you. Great video very informative.
The CDC does not recommend the yellow fever vaccine for folks 60 older. I’m 71 and going to Ghana in December 2023. I’ve decided not to get the shot and will get the waiver instead. I’m hoping Ghana will accept the waiver.
Hello! Can you please give an update on the (1) process for deciding not to get the vaccine (paperwork, exemption form, extra information inside visa) , (2) any side effects from not getting the vaccine? (3) did you get sick at all since not getting the vaccine?
