It can be great income for new to mid level players. I haul more FOs than secure but it's nice to do now that you get Commerce Skill Points for it. You can make money while grinding skills and never get killed 😎
A really interesting hauling experience I got was when I was exploring a wild system, I found two wormholes! one that lead to A blue spice area and one that led to a purple spice area, I basically used the wild system as a middle point where I travel from A-B through wormholes, a very epic experience I must say.
Sadly the Warp Field Amplifier upgrade only works planet to planet and not system to system. Also between the Rhino and the Mammoth, the Rhino line has a 4 second warp charge time and the Mammoth has a 5 second warp charge time. And since both of those ships carry such a low number of crates the 1 second warp charge difference doesn't affect the total time that much. After the update that is coming if they buff any of the ship's stats I will make sure to retest that theory though :)
helped a lot, great video! one question - Are the sell prices still the same after the getting around update? I never really found any station purchasing for above 500. The highest I sold for was 480 iirc.
So with spice it's all about math, navigating, and opportunity. So you can't really pick one and there isn't a best. What you can do is check out the systems near citadel and if you find spice platforms that are selling for like 590 or even 430 or something don't bother hauling that spice because it means a lot of other people are already hauling it and you wouldn't make any profit. If you find a spice platform selling for under 400 though you should do that one because it means nobody has done that spice yet.
Yeah it's definitely not something you want to do every single day. And after you learn the basics it's far more profitable to haul FOs (Frontier Outpost Anomalies in wild) I advise doing it when you need some money fast like within 10-15 minutes. Or alternatively doing it with FOs when you get lucky and find an FO with a wormhole to the opposite spice color.
@Slot E it's best to find routes as part of your normal scouting routine. The easiest way to get the most productive trip in wild is to take out either a stratos or paragon or Polaris or some cheap ship like that and scout a cluster of about 15 to 20 systems. Write down everything good in the system that you want to go back and get and then get the appropriate ship to go do it. This usually only takes me about 20 minutes tops and it saves me hours and hours of wasted time looking for good stuff. 🙂
@Slot E yes that's why I gave you the advice I did... The fastest way to find FOs is to scout for them first. Like I said it usually only ends up taking me about 20 minutes. And when I find an FO-WH-FO route which pays me around 600k a day that usually never takes more than an hour tops. It doesn't matter if you're looking for ATs or ALs.... If you want to save time scouting is the way to do it
@Slot E so if you reread what I typed to you it explains how. I'll include it here: " @Slot E it's best to find routes as part of your normal scouting routine. Awesome! As you learn more about hauling you'll eventually use these same principles to make around 49-50k per route by using Frontier Outpost Anomalies found in wild. And taking wormholes to other Frontier Outpost Anomalies of the opposite color. Until then though, enjoy the easy money 😎
I've not had a huge chance to use it yet to be honest. Nor have I spent much time with modules. Most of my gameplay style doesn't depend on updates so I tend to be pretty behind on whatever "meta" other people get into 😆
Sure. After the tutorial you have about 2,500 credits. Go to Bastion which is a core system right next to citadel. In the station at Bastion you can buy a Hyrax for 800 credits. Then you can go to Harbor and do hauling missions that pay 625 credits each time you complete them. :) Stack up some cash and then buy anything you want from there
@@beepboopbeep6140 Citadel is the name of the main system. Bastion is the name of the system next to Citadel. And Harbor is the name of another system. Open your map to see Harbor a few systems below Citadel. You can also type in the word Harbor on the top left of your map in the search bar
Well then you won't have to worry about turrets until you get into war ship sized vehicles such as Zubron (Corvette), and Galaxy(Frigate) for example. However the PDTs that come standard on ships are called repeaters and they work very nicely for handling the lower tier NPCs. Unfortunately PDTs are a deterrent and not made for full on combat so don't rely on them too heavily. As with any combat situation you the pilot are your own best weapon. Learning how to fly your ship, dodge enemy fire, and warp away is important to keeping your ship alive. Additionally learning the hazards that each type of NPC presents as well as the potential for player pirates is more important than depending on the tools to save you 🙂 That said when you do get to the war ship sized vehicles there are no "best" turrets. In fact there are no bests for anything in this game lol. But there are a few better options. For hauling ships I always suggest blasters if you're good at aiming and beams if you're not good at aiming. Blasters are decent multipurpose turrets with a reasonable DPS. Think of these like an automatic rifle or semi automatic rifle that fires fast. Beams are slightly slow firing lasers that do a high amount of damage in one shot. Think of these like a laser sniper rifle. I hope that gives you a decent amount of information to start with. You'll find that as you gain experience with what you do specifically in game that you'll use turrets, modules and ships in your own combinations to suit your particular style 😎
I've used both and haven't experienced a real big difference with either one a lot of people will tell you to go with The syndicate ones because they have low signal range and they're faster but it really doesn't matter.
