That tip stall was a surprise… nice recovery. Great looking model, seems pretty docile. I went for a ride in an FG-1d, one thing that really stood out was the phenomenal roll rate, even at slow speeds. Nice job!
Freeking awesome! I did the same thing back in the day with my TopFlite P-51, put a ZDZ super 80 and 24” four blade prop in it. Everyone thought I was completely insane but I wanted a scale prop on my warbird and it turned out awesome!!
Great job punching out such a project in just a week, I thought I was quick 🤣🤣 I think you found a perfect engine for this plane less a radial, great job .
So sick bro!!!! This model is killer! The blue will be tops! This scheme shows off the body lines well tho. Love the scale looks, big ace flaps hangin down, big prop, pappy boyington would be proud!!
I appreciate you not wrapping it up and yanking it around. It’s fun to watch it fly scale plus that massive prop doesn’t need to work that hard. Beautiful build too!
@@boommasterkc-135____8 yessir thats how i do it! It isnt a pylon racer or a nascar..i dont just fly circuits wide open ths whole flight lol. This one is just too perfect with that big ol prop and cool sounding motor. If i want to go fast ill fly my jets
Mine still flying. 3 years later , only issue was the struts ! And having to cut out the mount to clearance them to work properly. Great work and fast work on this bird !
Great job Brent! The Corsair is my favorite WWII fighter. That thing looks awesome with the big prop and gear/flaps all hanging out on approach. Ultra fast build! My favorite scheme is the early war tricolor, but all blue like your Bearcat will be awesome I'm sure.
Talk about putting the hammer down and gitt'ner done, wow!! Nice work and maiden flight Brent!!. Looks great in the air (and on the ground). I know the tail gear is a unwelcome surprise for you, hope it's resolved easily. Spectacular bro, AirHammer out!!
Great work !! You really got to get the grease out of the struts !!!! The issue was way too much in the struts. No rebound or dampening. ! That alone will crack your wing spar !!!!! Make the struts be struts ! Even change spring in them. !!!! They should have at least an inch of smooth travel !!
You are a much better Pilot than I ever Was! I enjoy and am a little inspired to try the planes again. But I have always enjoyed the skills and talents of today’s Pilots. My era was in the 2.4 Ghtz times with the long wire antennas dragging behind the aircraft. Goldberg Classics😎👍🏿
I remember the feeling of creating my first Baby🤗She was beautiful, sleek and had Sport Wings for a Trainer. I spent weeks trimming each piece of balsa and even balancing the pieces. She Was An Absolute Beauty in my eyes, but I didn’t cry when she accidentally hit an Oak Tree😳🥺😩I just picked up my Heart and left to rebuild her!👍🏿😎
Your approach was great. I think if you had waited just one more second to flair, you may have not dropped that wing. But that is a landing, "ANYONE" should be happy to take right? Damn fine plane.... Total bomb combination. Congrats.
@@robepley2709 thanks man. Yeah i needed about 1 more click of power. Just got it too slow. That wasnt me flaring that was just a stall sadly. Didnt let it sink quick enough. In my defense i hadnt put in the flap/elev mix and it wasnt sinking on its own. Thats all fixed now :)
Really surprised it dropped a wing before touchdown. It appeared to me you were carrying plenty of speed. Excellent work recovering it. 👋 That sucks about the (not carrier landing rated) broken tail wheel gear shortening your day. Thanks for sharing the video. Was looking forward to it.
That prop arch, holy crap it looks so good! You said you hardly touched the rudder o takeoff? Bunch of right thrust?? I figured with that big prop the torque would be monstrous even at a low throttle setting. That engine is running smoooooooth! I so happy for you man, congrats! I'll go ahead and make a prediction...trophies. Several.
@@ModelAV8RChannel thanks man! Truth be told...0 right thrust. If theres any it was by accident. Ive got a massive throttle curve....i bet im taking off at a normal 20% power setting lol

Fantastic! The scale size prop is indeed awesome. Too bad about the landing gear quality, but I'm sure you'll get 'er fixed up better than before in no time. Congrats on the maiden!
Great video and nice flight. I would slow the roll rate down to make it look even more realistic. Was there other props that would work with your hub without having to modify the blades? Oh and which scale hub is that? Really great job and to the haters, well..........
Don’t forget to add your stall strip on the starboard wing just like the full-size and you will eliminate the tip stall. The scale size prop just makes the model!
Great flight sounds and looks great in the air, only problem was I could hear the engine real well but could only hear half of what you are saying. John from Hayden, Idaho
Shes beautiful and it looks like she flies great. You did a really good job installing all the gear ... Too bad about that tail wheel, they charge way way too much for thise cheapo retracta from china.
@@MattFlyingFPV oh yeah hahaha. Coming down the backside of a loop...chop power and its like you threw a parachute out the back lol. Thats why you gotta carry piwer all the way to touchdown
@@KimJohnson-zs3hp yes its much improved with the wings on. Added a suprising abount of damping. My f8f is the same way with no wing. Was glad to feel the smoothness after idle lol

@@hechtspeed you did very well with it, keep a close eye on the gull section just inboard of where outer panels mate. It is a known weakness. If you can get a bore scope in there to check the spar. From memory there is very little substance to the spar as they have cut out too much. Even with CF I think there is still little substance.
