Never been in RC but I did take a recent Cruise on Virgin and from what you saw and what you are saying I have to agree. I was blown away on my first Virgin Cruise for sure. Staff and food were awesome and 18 and older Adult friendly made it even better,
Of course this is going to happen. Virgin Cruise is the new kid on the block that thought outside of the box and it is getting allot of attention. This is why you need a variety, when someone comes with different and successful ideas the other cruise line are forced to elevate their game!!! This is a good thing!! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
My first cruise was on RC in August of 2018 to the Bahamas. Me and my wife had our excursion to Cococay Beach. It was pretty much just a beach with cabanas and Tiki bars that you swam or walked up to. But they had just started construction on Perfect Day At Cococay. So actually RC was already building their island before VV launched. Me and my wife have been on 3 more cruises since then ( 2 on Carnival 1 VV). And we're leaving Galveston this Sunday on a 7 day western Caribbean cruise to Cozumel, Costa Maya Mexico and Roatan Honduras on Harmony Of The Seas. I actually loved my cruise on VV and Bimini was great. Maybe my upcoming trip will enlighten me on the similarities between the two. Keep Cruising
I think all of the cruise lines take ideas from each other. Think Android vs Apple. It’s pretty common in business, especially when competition heats up. For instance, Carnival is generally credited with starting the waterslide trend way back in the 70’s with Carnival Festivale. Later, Norwegian, Disney, MSC and then Royal joined in transforming their pool areas after recognizing the consumer demand. But in the end, the copying is good for us consumers if it gives us a quality product, no matter which line we choose. We all spend that hard earned money to have a great vacation! 😊
I love this channel, big fan…. However, it is clear and evident that Vynnessa and many of the people in theses comments JUST started cruising in/after 2020!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The light up “room signs”… yea just about EVERY cruise line has done that. RC had “wow” bands YEARS ago… Oontz Oontz music, those of us that cruised thru the late 90’s/early 00’s, that’s ALL the cruise lines played!!!!! We legit just started getting consistent “hip hop” after 2011. Cabanas, Yea RC was doing that years ago as well! Food options, RV was the first giving options outside the MDR/Buffet… Promenade Cafe made sure we didn’t have to eat pizza if we stayed up late 🤣 To those of us that have cruised as kids, teens into adulthood KNOW Virgin, literally just took the best qualities from each line, then created a better one. What I will give Virgin is they are legitimately the FIRST to make all dining options included. Thats dope… but they got that from “all inclusive” hotels 🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣… No shade at all, but, while VV might have many cruises under her belt now, she wasn’t on these ships all her life, cut her some slack! The more she cruises the more she will see, she jumped on ships at the peak of great cruising. Vynnessa the more you cruise, you’ll see! But let’s not say ANYBODY copied Virgin, they just got to the party, and just so happen to start the right way!
@@vacationvibesofficial again I am a fan, no hostility whatsoever from my comment, I hope to run into you on a cruise someday and buy you a shot, all love (I also want to produce a theme song for your channel, but that’s another convo 🤣). But to say RC copied anything from Virgin is crazy. RC has been the standard and ahead of the game for many years. You’ve been cruising from childhood to adulthood, ok, I stand corrected. Again, all love, great channel! 💯🔥
If I’m not mistaken Princess was the first cruise line to have wearables with their medallions. I loved my cruise on Icon last month. I do agree with you that I’m not one to visit the windjammer. I can’t stand a buffet line and being around that many people in a small area. I rarely had breakfast, but for lunch I was either at MDR or trying various things at the Aqua Market which I really liked. If I’m being honest I have to call out those that hyped up Sorrentos Pizza… NO, that was so overrated. I didn’t visit the Hideaway beach this time, instead my hubby opted for Coco Beach Club. Too calm and relaxed for my vibe, but just right for him. Next time he can find me at the swim up bar instead.
It’s a copy cat industry. Not just cruising, the entire travel industry. You can argue that RC has become TOO family friendly/focused and the pivot was necessary to continue to attract younger travelers.
I got hideaway beach day pass for $19.99 on the 2nd leg of my B2B February cruise on Freedom of the Seas, but it was $40.99 on the 1st leg. My Icon of the Seas cruise booked for August has never gone lower than $49.99.
I agree with most everything you’re saying except for the wearable /WOW band . Royal Caribbean started it first 10 years ago on Quantum of the seas . I celebrated my 50 birthday on that ship and received one. I love your content I met you on Icon of the seas and you still look like my daughter in law lol safe travels
@@vacationvibesofficial You buy the WOW band for $10 and it can be reused for future cruises. They only work on the Icon, Quantum class and the Oasis class (except for the Allure OTS). All you have to do is to bring your WOW band to the Guest Service and they will encode it for you for free. You still need to use you seapass card as the WOW band cannot be used to get you in and out of the ship while at the port.
I think RC does that for those who enjoy the perks but would not want to cruise Virgin because of the atmosphere. So this way you get a taste without having to experience the other things
Im so excited to see Colombia! Great video! Ive done one virgin so far, I'm excited for our next one! If i go on RC again, it's only cause we've only got 10 short years left with our tiny human who loves to cruise and thinks Disney is the only way😫. Hes gotta learn we don't have Disney every year money 😂😂
From the videos, I felt like the RCL adult areas seemed a little like VV, which made me want to try the Icon (later when the price dips) ... in the meantime, I'll be booking more VV cruises!
I believe it was Princess who started the wearables 1st. You can't compare RCCL with Virgin as Virgin is a premium line like Celebrity and Princess. RCCL is the same as NCL and Carnival.
I actually agree with most of these and i think it says a lot about what Virgin is offering that Royal is taking pages out of their book. Clearly VV is doing somethings very right and Royal doesn't want to fall behind so they are taking it into consideration for sure. BUUUUUT - Royal did "mood" lighting on Odyssey which predates Virgin. But it's only been on the new ships, so I think Odyssey, Wonder and Icon are the only ones to have it so far.
Wait. You have to pay extra for Hideaway Bay on CocoCay?? 😳 This is my problem with Royal. Cococay is their private island. I already paid a hefty price to sail on her ships and now I need to pay extra to lounge by a pool without kids? So annoying… Always nickel & diming. Good grief!
Royal seem to copy a lot… even when carnival launched Mardi Gras, they bought their newest ship to port even though they had no business being there then, then they announced their newest ship going to Galveston, Royal shortly followed. They are leaders in some aspects but followers in others. Maybe it’s just arrogance?
So basically RC is old credible cruise line who is still very in-the-know when it comes to guest preferences across all cruise lines and likes to accommodate and update for guests as much as possible?!! I really don’t see an issue. She makes it seem bad.
I was waiting for someone to call this out. Great job!

Not Royal deleting the copy cat claims on their socials….😂
I wanted to screenshot them sis! Nowhere to be found 😭

Preach! I love originality. ❤
Meee too!
It's always good business to copy what is working for a competitor. Haven't tired virgin yet but it's on my list.

Disney Cruise line was the first to have an adult only area on their private island.

We had an all white party win the Carnival celebration it seemed a little familiar to something I seen on virgin in red.

there are MANY things other cruise lines need to learn from virgin. i'm here for it.
They can have their (not so) Great Value Bimini and sail away signs if Virgin can get infinity pools.
When you copy make sur you copy a cool cat...

What do you think of the nude cruise, Bare necessities on the Norwegian pearl?
I don’t have any thoughts on that lol. To each their own.
@@vacationvibesofficial it just sucks that this is probably the only way to get an adults only cruise on non virgin cruiselines
@@krisnyc9134 there are other cruiselines that are adults only. Adults- only is the lack of children, not a lack of clothes.

No, Virgin is my only adults only experience on cruises.
