Hello Everyone! 2 months later and IM BACK! This video is super informational on what it is like to be a first year medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine! I talk in this video about problem based learning in comparison to lecture based learning. Please take the time to watch as I have also mixed our lives come "review week" before a big exam! This video spans 8 days so I tried to keep each clip informational and as short as possible! P.S. THERE ARE SO MANY NEW FACES IN THIS VIDEO!

Thank you all!

Society NEEDS hard-working students like you in the immediate future of health care. I send you many well-wishes. Med students have it so rough, but you guys help save so many lives over the course of your careers.
Please continue making these LECOM videos! I’m hoping to become a student at LECOM Elmira. Would love your thoughts on all things about the school - good and bad, and life outside of med school! These videos r great
Thank you so so so much 🙏🏼
this looks highkey fun. super excited to go in 4 years :)
Wow! Pretty impressive. You all are going to be great doctors & educators. Stay the course & keep doing your best. Your video is evident that our future is going to be in good hands. Thanks for all your hard work & dedication!
I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m in the LECOM early acceptance program and I’m actually from Pittsburgh too. It’s really cool to see how life will actually be at LECOM 🙂
ah! congrats to you!!! you will love it! goodluck to you queen!
Hi, quick question to get accepted was it required that you had a particular SAT score or do they go by other requirements. I contacted someone but they never reached back out to me.
Thank you for your insight and putting your experience out into the universe! I would love to hear more of your thoughts on PBL (pros/cons, what you feel is difficult about it, what you've found makes it easier for you, mistakes you've/others have made, if you feel it translates to performing well on exams, or anything else you feel like sharing).
P.S. them delts are lookin' bomb girl!
i am DEFINITELY in the works of making a video for this!!
The throw 5 on it intro for test day had me shook 😂
I’m a high school senior that just got accepted into the LECOM EAP 4+4 program but I would be attending the Erie campus. Your vlogs definitely do a good job explaining more about the school and what a med students life is like. Do you like the school so far?
Danny congrats Danny! Is that an 8 year program? Do u have any tips for me and how well did u do in High School? Thanks!
quaint * yes it’s an 8 year program. And I did pretty well but nothing crazy. 97% gpa (school doesn’t do 4.0 scale) 1300 sat 28 act and took 4 ap classes. If you are looking at this program in specific if you are around there or above you should get an interview and have a good chance of acceptance based off my experience.
Danny- congrats! i do like the school a lot, but i love the people and location (bradenton) more!
Same here, brother. I also got into LECOM EAP 4+4. Let’s connect. :).
@@iamahmednahian hey. i am a high school student interested in the program. what were your stats?
I noticed there isn’t a vlog on the mms program. Would you mind doing one? Just kind of going over your process of getting in, what you did to get into the DO program, etc. I’m looking to apply to the masters program next yr as a non-traditional student and second career change. Thx in advance. If not, I totally understand. Med school is a lot of work. Ps. I’m asking bc I heard you say briefly in this vlog u did the program.
Hey i just completed the mms program! I applied for it because undergrad burned me out and i had a horrible gpa (3.11). My mcat was barely acceptable (497, 40th percentile) and i knew i needed something for a comeback. I ended up with a 3.53 gpa after climbing from a 3.35 gpa at the end of fall. Its hard as hell but the faculty really do want u to succeed and are all rooting for you.
@@kaitlynkilpatrick36 thanks for replying. I'm thinking of doing the same. Im in the same boat. My bachelor gpa was a 3.0. I really struggled but have done some post graduate work (no degree just taking pre-reqs etc) and my GPA is a 3.7. Haven't taken the mcat yet. Planning on taking it in January after finishing physics. I went to lecom Bradenton open house last year and have been focusing on getting into their mms program every since.
@@queenoftradesmd1925 thats awesome good luck to you! If you maintain a good gpa and smash ur mcat u might be able to apply to DO right off the bat if u feel confident enough to apply. You can always enter the mms if you dont have a good app year next year, thats what a lot of people did.
@@kaitlynkilpatrick36 ok thx for the advice! Good luck to you in all your future endeavors 😊
@@kaitlynkilpatrick36 hey quick question. When you apply to their DO program from the mms program, do you have to apply through aacomas, personal statements...the whole nine yards?
Can you give any tips for interviewing at LECOM?
How does LECOM deal with huricains?
Could you do a video on somebody who is doing Directed study?
yes! I am working on videos for different routes to medical school and different medical school study habits and learning.
I am in undergrad psychology (First year). I’ll be finishing up my Degree at MSU, I’ve made a list of osteopathic and allopathic schools in my Google Doc that I’m interested in already, I came across Lake Erie. Is this school diverse? Do you like it? What do you love about it, and what DON’T you like/love about it. What do you wish was different? If you could go back to the applications process would you choose Lake Erie all over again, or go with a different school?
Hi! First, congrats on this decision! Also, there are many things I love about lecom! I talk about them in other videos! But honestly, PBL is really difficult, but I do love it. I would chose this school again, not only because of the curriculum, but because I love the people here. Sometimes the school does annoying faculty things, but so does every school. Every school has ups and downs (one of ours being we can’t eat or drink during class) but I love our faculty. I love the students and I love that I’m in Bradenton/Sarasota Florida. One of the reasons I chose this school was location and the other was PBL!
Random question- Do you have to take your shirt off during OMM or can you wear your shirt the whole time?
hi! you have to take it off for certain techniques then you can put it right back on!
Great video! Could you give some tips about interviewing at LECOM?
Do the PBL students have the same exams as the LDP students or the exams are different based on the pathway you choose?
i think it is completely separate based on the paths but im not 100000% certain lol
Wow amazing. I really like how you showed different aspects of LECOM. is this Elmira or Erie campus ?
bradenton!
Hi, I love your sunglasses. Where are they from??

I’ve seen some bad reviews on LECOM talking about the administration, rotations, and cadaver labs, and I wanted to see your point of view on these or give insight on if they are even true ?
I will talk about these in my next video!! A lot of people have asked the same thing!
Nice video
I love how you deal with your stress ❤️💕🌼☀️🌹🎇😍🌸🌺🦋
not bad vlog
