- DonkeyTec Kicks A$$ and a 650hp VR6 Corrado ride along sure helped put that into perspective! After wrapping up a shop tour and an inspiring ride in a CRAZY GAD Motors built SUV, Frank literally slid us straight into another shop tour with our friends at DonkeyTec! Specializing in Volkswagens, these guys really know what they are doing when it comes to the FWD VW and VR6 platforms. While their main course is currently VW/Audi, they are looking to expand their menu out to BMW and Lamborghini’s, neither of which are simple undertakings. Judging by how tame and radical this DonkeyTec turbo VR6 Volkswagen Corrado was, we can’t wait to see what impressive feats these guys accomplish in the future on some seriously badass cars! Love it! Awesome that you are getting out of country and seeing some awesome cars abroad! Love Germany and their car innovation and modifications of awesome cars. Corrados are simply awesome but need so much tlc to keep going thanks to VW using everything in the parts bin instead of building things specifically for the corrado platform.

I'm a huge fan of this channel. I'm also a massive vw fan so this was one of my favorite videos so far I want to do a rwd vr6 conversion on my 91 gti. I've heard a lot about this shop as well its was kool to see.

VR6 is one of the greatest motors ever. I hate that VW had to can it because of Europe's strict emission regs.

we've got 2 corrados in the garage both clean title and 1 has 65k miles being restored and another has 110k miles getting a manual transmisson swap, these things are awesome to drive, the only fwd i'd buy

I’m building one right now my exhaust guy just said get a vr6 and he will build me a turbo manifold and system I think this video may have just confirmed it for me although I think I would be happy with 400-450bhp

I own one, the g60 version. It used to be supercharged, but it's turbo now. Well that g60 was a quiet compressor, but also a nightmare!

Pull the pin, count to 60. I had 3 corrado g60s. One got rear ended, one burst into flames and my last one got a 225 1.8t engine to replace the g60.
I had 3 g60s compressors, one of them blew a hole in the hood. I also had two 1.8 8v engines, in the first one two pistons were melted. Now I'm sticking with a 2.1 8v with forged pistons turbo setup, which is somehow reliable.

People don't understand how hard it is to make power with a dub motor as temperamental as a vr6, without breaking it... Well done guys
Actually you’re quite wrong. VR6s were originally intended to be N/A diesels so the 12v ones like these have flat top heads, 20 head bolts, and very robust bottom ends. Stock bottom end can handle 500-600hp reliably, and with forged pistons the stock rods have been known to take 700+ even drag racing. Thats part of why they are quite popular for F/I

Unfortunately we didn't get the 2.9l 12v in the states, only the AAA 2.8l. 😮 Just like all the other cool Eurospec long blocks. 😔 Can't go wrong with a boosted VR no matter what displacement. Who would want a recirc wastegate, when you can have the sound, and 'fireworks' from the screamer pipe!?!?! 😂 Great work! Nice build 👍

I miss my Corrado. Mine wasnt the VR6 but the guy i bought it from raced it and was changing to dirt and rebuilt the motor before he sold it to me. It had 360hp and i beat the shit out of it. That thing moved for only 360hp without a turbo.
