For all those who say "I thought they were immune" ------- They were immune until the infection mutated.
ok thanks that got me really confused i havent played riptide yet
the infection didnt mutate. they took a mutagen and became un-immune.
They didn't become un-immune there body wasn't killing the virus it was only suppressing it so they could off mutated at any moment

Why does everyone think Purna was the one who was infected just because she had a headache? They all had the virus inside them and it mutated. They went through the old Japanese war bunkers and there were deadly chemicals that made the virus inside them mutate. So they were all infected, it just slowly mutated and near the end, they all turned and killed the survivors.

no, the doctors its still ok if they inhale the fumes but touching the "pure" chemicals will cause a mutation... the mutagen that they inject themselves is already tampered with it like antidote + chemicals.
What I'm guessing is that they ditched the boat and went somewhere else and someone turned so they locked them in the hatch

John is IMMUNE all the characters get partially infected like John/ It's part of the game.

Well it's a zombie apocalypse.
the way I see it there is going to be new characters in DI2 regardless if our main ones died or not. They were located on island that were off the coast of what I can tell, Australia, so if their boat, a sail boat keep in mind, was sailing for 6 days it would not make it to California's coast in 6 days. They are most likely on a island that is still near Australia

This is what happened. They were drifting at sea for 6 days. If they had enough food, they either mutated in their sleep and went ape-sh*t on the ones who didn't mutate yet. Or they all starved and mutated because they died and changed into a zombie finally. Either way... they turned into full on zombie. Now they landed on that new island. Thus brings a new place to infect. Which leads to dead island 2.

LiceON No, Dying Light 2 takes place in LA and that little area at the end doesn't really look like LA. Plus I don't think they could've sailed from Australia (New Zealand?) to LA in 6 days.

I always thought that they died because of the open ended ending but it looks like they survived because Sam B is in dead Island 2
The ending of the game reminds me of some scenes from the beginning of Lucio Fulci's "Zombie 2 " :D
I think that was an actual reference.
Since dead island 2 is taking years to come out, the least they could do is have some involvement with the original 4 main characters. Because in the end of this they aren't zombies, they're still human but mutated to hell like Harlow was. They could be the cause for the zombies in dead island 2, if the damn game ever comes out.

Guys they turned into zombies remember in chapter 5 the sciencents tell you that exposure to chemicals will make you loose your immunity so when they took the mutagen it made them loose there immunity to the zombie virus that's why you hear zombies in the boat at the end of the game
I think the end of riptide might have been toward dying light, due to the fact that on the dead island 2 trailer the person from the cut seen at the end is not character if i remember correctly, and why does Serpo die after only one hit from a walker if u can take like 60 hits if u level all the characters skill trees right. Plus if u look closely and pay attention, the music is from Sam-b and they were on the boat the whole time/ Think they might not be zombies in the boat. Zombies cant turn handles They might just be in the permanent rage mode if they are not totally insane. If i said any thing wrong correct me. Also unrelated note. If u want dying light on the Xbox 360 just turn down the graphic sensitivity. It should work then.
I found it funny when (if you're playing as john) you say there are only 5 immune after you reach the camp and defend it from the zombies (after you set up the fences) and if you look at Harlow's leg she clearly has a bite. You play the game in THEIR time for like 3 weeks total. AT MINIMUM! Harlow would have turned. If you didn't notice then you must be slow to catch onto stuff. Sorry but there are a lot of stuff people never catch in games that are LITERALLY right in front of you.
Also some of the new dead island characters look like they are from the 2014 Lara Croft Game (Tomb Raider) and that was a rip off. I hate it when I'm the only person who notices stuff. Does anyone else notice the small stuff.

I remember as if it was yesterday downloading definitive edition. At age 12 playing a videogame that included zombies, cars and weapons also that exiting horror feel it had to it, was the best feeling I've had playing a horror videogame besides outlast. Thinking back so many things have changed since then. We be here in 2020 and all those years of playing this game might come to use. Let's see if the zeds demise is effective as it is in game than real life.

great, so you beat the game only to find out they all mutated into infected and came ashore having a little mutant orgy in the bottom of the boat and then probably came out and spread the infection to wherever the hell they washed up at? fuck me, that's a shitty ending -__- oh something else, i remember harlow calling me an "angel of death", who else thinks it would be badass if right at the end when the hatch door knob turns if angel of death by slayer started playing? haha
oh i forgot this : look up the boat (i mean when you are in the garage) there are some planks that are chopped down in the water and this means that the zombies just falled down the hole and in the boat ! Plus this the survivors didn't check the downer level of the boat and they sleep'd on the upper level of the boat !
There's absolutely no way to beat this game on multiplayer without one of them giving you a modded weapon...

Yerema was infected when they got to the military ship. She started the infection that causes the boat to wreck on the island.
Well in my point of view Only JOHN gone and endangered himself by exposing himself in the tunnels and taking the mutagen in the end.And to prove this point,
I'm quite sure there's only ONE mutagen in the end and its not enough for all 5 of them.

If listen very carefully you can hear a zombie growl when the latch starts to open so they are either dead an became zombies that's a different boat or some zombies got washed onto the boat an they got off but before they did they put them in that small area of the boat

It's just a warning telling you you can't go back once you climb the boat, in case you just want to keep playing.
actually, they said originally that this was NOT dead island 2, but rather a bridge, inbetween 1 and perhaps a 2nd game.
why is everybody assuming that they've died/turned?
because of one growling sound effect added to the music at the end?
as far as I'm concerned they got away, the music and growing was just atmospheric sound effect, not sounds occuring on the ship.

through this entire game it was never told on what happened to that native woman that was with them at the beginning of the game, not one of the immune asked about her since their escape from the military ship
Maybe they didn't turn into zombies. Maybe everyone was taking a nap inside, but someone forgot to drop anchor so the boat just drifted with no one operating it. And that growling we heard inside was actually the radio or someone yawning very loudly. That seems to be a logical explanation, right?

its kinda stupid no one asked about her, the last you hear of her is that she was transported to a facility and that was like near the beginning of the game and then nothing else was asked about her, no one questioned even further about her, its like she was completely forgotten about. but hopefully the dlc about her is made and what she did after the beginning. If its not made then the makers of the game just completely wrote her off.

This was not mentioned during the hospital's quests. So I understand it when they do not get on the boat.
(in ending cinematique, the weirdest thing is that we saw the guy from hospital, trying to keep zombies out, when he had a double metal door with intercom inside building :| )
What I do not understand is that Jacqueline talks about the boat (after catching Serpo) and she shows interest in it finally, so why not taking it :s ?

Remember how that doctor warned your character about the infection and how it was inside her.. I believe he said something about being careful with this. And since your character took that mutagen it must have controlled her and caused her to be infected. As well with the rest of the group..

The ending tells you there is gonna be another DeadIsland RipTide because when the latch got pulled you here a zombie noise.Also want to know if the other survivors are still alive.
The mutegen that any character took to kill harlow wont turn because they control it and like kesler said it wont progress if exposed to alot of mutegen, chemicals and I seriously doubt that they would ever go near that kind of stuff again.
The trailer is 1000000000000 times better than the game itself....
They had the infection all along and the player took the mutagen and it comes up as all of them as a group in each cut scene so they move as one act as one so they all took the mutagen but thats why they went into fury mode because it started to f**k with their bodies and thats the reason y plus zombies cant open handles anyways

Yeah that's true Henry Boyle wasn't even on the deck for the cutscene and so it's very possible that he turned in the hull of the ship and they ditched the boat . It drifted for 6 days to come by the dock on another remote island about to be hit by the virus. I don't think that even if they took the mutagen that they would turn because of the immunity they had since the beginning . Well wondering where they would have went if they did ditch the ship because it's very limited .

yes guys they all died while on the trip on the boat one of the survivors was infected and unfortunately bit them all so they all turned into zombies
But in the first Dead Island it explains that the 4 main characters are immune to the infection.
