Ive always wanted to play a "character" that was actually the sword being carried by someone. Not sure if it's a played out trope but it always seemed interesting. I saw this video on my RUclips recommended! You've made it into the algorithm! Congrats brother!
I think artefact would be a good way to nail that backstory down 👍 If you wanna play a character like that in a game like DnD I'd go with a pact of the blade warlock and have the pact weapon "possess" a character 🗡️ But thank you brother man! Happy to be in the algorithm gang 😎
Pointy Hat has a homebrew Fighter subclass that's defined by wielding a scaling artifact weapon; that probably fits the bill perfectly. It also reminds me of the 3.5 "The Big Guy Is With Me" concept; there were a surprising number of abilities to boost Familiars or familiar-adjacent creatures, so the joke concept rose of a build that focused everything on the Familiar, then played the Familiar as the actual character while the caster just acted as an attendant.
If you want to play a sentient sword that can possess people in Pathfinder, check out the Armorist class from Spheres of Power. They have an archetype that allows them to do this.
This setting of focusing on a sentient weapon reminds me of the french ttrpg Bloodlust by Croc and the Siroz team (or Badbuta for the newer edition). I don't know if it can be found in english but it's a very interesting sword&sorcery game.
I had an idea for a similar character. If it's in 5e I'd suggest a pact of the blade warlock. The pact weapon is possessing a mortal so you'd essentially be roleplaying an entity that's puppeting a maybe not so willing creature.
@@TheTabletopSolo I also thought about that (am a little new to the dnd fandom and never played before). The fun thing would be changing hosts by giving them the sword but always having the drawback of zombie movements. So you can only technically die if people know you are in the sword
@@TheTabletopSolo haha, am a little shy but already found people who are looking to find others to make a group. But even with the time, I guess it will take a little longer until I actually start playing since I love worldbuilding and am a little more interested in being DM
So I can now essentially play as the "I was reincarnated as a sword" sword with this. Neat.
It would definitely be a fun system to use to craft the background for that character!

There's a third-party supplement for D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e that has an intelligent weapon race.
That sounds really cool! Do you know the name of the supplement?
@@TheTabletopSolo It was part of Battlezoo's Year of Monsters.

Finally, a TTRPG that won't make me want to hide bodies below lakes.
If it did i would be concerned
Keeper question 5 is about the Keeper _losing_ you, not loving you.
Whoops good eye 👍😂. Still led to some good backstory for our sword.

Thanks for going over this. This is such a neat concept and your execution of it was very entertaining!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
This is great work. Here is something for the algorithm
Thank you, friend!
Love from a BlaineSimple and Vaush fan!
You popped up in my front page! Woo!
Just popped up for me, good video dude!
Thank you friend 😊

Cheers, to another great video!

Cats are sentient.
Humans are sapient.
oooooo, WAIT WTF, only 597 subs, but this vid was soo well made, have one more sub ta help fix dat
didnt watch the video yet but wanted to ´turn this idea into a character. You are trapped in an iron sword and can command the people who weild you.

@@ez9566 that could be a fun concept to refine. If you're about to start a game I'd definitely talk to your DM and have them help you work that out!

I hope you enjoy that! DMing is my favorite part about TTRPGs! You got this friend 💪
Teddy Roosevelt.
I'd go with Frost/Vampiric/Warped
i cant find the game, it has disappeared from everywhere, does anyone know how a i can find a copy or something
Hello! It appears the developer's Itch.io page is down. I'm sorry about that 😔
Why does this have to be a solo game? Think about artefacts competing against each other to push their own agendas and direct history.
You could certainly alter it if you wanted!
