28 hours until I can play. edit: The devs confirmed that the performance issues are caused by poor cpu optimization, since impact physics and ai is calculated for every entity on screen, towns are worse. So having a $1,000 gpu isn't going to fix the current problems. They "hope" to resolve them in upcoming patches.
I do hope they come put with a performance mode. The problem is my main setup is only 1080p with PS5, so I'm not able to take advantage of those extra pixels with 4K. Just seems like a loss to only have 4K 30 fps mode. Excited for the game regardless, but might wait a bit for some updates on that topic

I don't want to hear one complaint from the ''every game holds my hand'' crowd, not one. When you're lost for what feels like hours (or maybe actually hours). When that one NPC dies because you didn't finish the quest fast enough, etc. This game was made for you, so, rejoice.
Ruri, on your XTX you didn't mention the resolution. Were you running 1440P or 4K when getting acceptable performance with FSR. I'm completely happy to run at 1440P if performance is really better than PS5. Otherwise I'll go PS5.
The inn rest & autosaves are separate? So if you f something up, and there's been a few autosaves, you have the ability to roll back to the last time you rested at an inn?

I played last night for 2 hours and the character movement when traversing the world seems to gravitate toward objects in the environment as if they are magnetic. I feel like a lot of preconceived ideas and notions were born when DD2 was announced and Capcom didn’t dispel those notions very well. My PC runs Elden Rig just fine, but my 6GB card doesn't meet the min. specs for this game. So, I might have to wait a bit on this one. Also, FF7 Rebirth is amazing and might take me another couple of weeks to finish.
Zero but adding more. There are, but there is in every capcom game, so nothing new there. Game had poor performance before full release, more of an optimization issie due to npcs than denuvo tbh. Denuvu can make you miss 5% of fps. Here top end rigs struggles in towns barely hitting 30.
Let me tell you how new to the dragons dogma series I am...... Soo last week I was going to redownload Skyrim and modded it to hell around my female archer character then I saw a video titled countdown to the release of dragons dogma 2 and my mind was blown the game looks amazing the character creator was the best I've ever used I'm so pumped for DD2 because love games like this from Skyrim to the Witcher 3.. Fantasy open world games with character creators are my favorite.. I'm guessing when it released years ago it was overshadowed by Skyrim and the likes but I'm definitely getting it when it releases Friday.
These performance issues are CPU related... you're getting CPU limited in the cities with all the NPCs, lowering graphics is probably not gonna change much.
I gave up after 30 hours. Initial playtime was great, but it becomes tedious with no sense of reward. Combat is kind of improved, but the rest of it is the same shit as the first. Limited and shallow vocations system. Equipment gathering and upgrading is ass. Itemization is ass. Eventually both of my pawns decided to jump off a cliff and they disappear from my party. I was like, you know what, nah. This game had a decade to become good , and it's not What a shame.
Guaranteed I get this game regardless of the targeted frame rate on console, but game devs should really start treating single option 30 fps like they treat 720p resolution. In otherwords, a relic from the past. For videos and movies it's understandable, but for video games that require input, well..having choices on console would be great too

Among them a test with a Ryzen 5 5600x and Radeon 6600XT, almost identical to my setup. At 1080p with everything on its lowest setting possible or all the way off, it barely managed to run at 39 fps on average. In cities the 1% lows are 20 fps. So the performance and optimization is fucking abismal, plus the game looks absolutely awful with those settings, according to them
My only potential beef is I truly hope the itemization and UI-style of the inventory is NOTHING like Monster Hunter. More along the lines of Oblivion or Skyrim would be at least decent, non-console-focused cluttered UI.

Everything you do will affect the pawns. Is it the same way here? Or we have ability to control pawns saying go, help, come to me without worries?

The pop in npc everywhere in town is some of the most extreme i have seen in a video game ever, the games texture loadin needs atleast a few more month of polish, game was not ready for launch , you can even see dragons pushing away trolls in battle like they are floating on the ground , the game it self is amazing but performance and bugs are huge, no1 talks about it, its gonna tank review on steam

FSR3 on balanced, shadows to mid I think, but I’m hoping for some improvements, biggest issue was the main city, outside it ran mostly fine with fsr3

I have a an RTX 4070 super AMD Ryzen 5 5600, will that run the game well enough?
It should, but its just badly optimized so most likely u will get 60-70 fps with drops to 20 in cities

I wish we could switch between our character and main pawn
It makes me glad to hear the game wasn't dumbed down with an over abundance of "QoL" simplifications, like most modern games.
So my 5700 xt going to be struggling playing this game

I knew performance was going to be spotty even on PC... should have made the game with Monster Hunter World engine but Itsuno had to make it as "pretty" as possible
