    Honda would do well to name you head of research and development phase in marketing “Limited Edition” Fits to bring back sales to the U.S. Who would ever have thought to show “heat loss” 2:17 brilliant. Your videos are always well planned providing step-by-step along with tips and recommendations and strictly to the point comments along the way. I always look forward to seeing whatever videos you have planned for Fits. Keep up the great work.

      Thank you Gerry.
      I have a few emails and DMS from people telling me how they bought a Honda Fit after watching my RUclips channel.
      It would be amazing if Honda brought the FIT back and I was able to beta test one.
      I'll be releasing another video in a day or two.
      The FIT is currently going through some big changes.

    Having done this on my NV200, I appreciate how much work it can be! Great video! Most rewarding for ME wasn’t the sound deadening while driving (though that was noticeable), it was the Mercedes “clomp” when closing the doors. It went from Thailand beer can resonance to Teutonic lead block resonance. Beyond that, I can’t tell the difference on my 1982 Audiovox playing Judas Priest cassette tapes :-)

      How'd you like the heat loss photos?!
      This is something I never would've noticed if I still had the roof rack on.

    On the fit forum, I read one of the posters found great success also from taking off the front fender liners and applying lots of sound deadening around the wheel wells, and also from inserting a 8mm or so foam stripe into the door seals.

      @@SK89631 Are there many differences between the (gen2?) GE8 and the gen3 GK5? I love my 2019 Fit, but prefer the smoother look of the previous gen body panels.
      What a shame that Honda dropped the North American market.

      I agree with you 100%
      I wanted to buy a 2nd generation Honda Fit in 2014 but they were getting redesigned and weren't available at this time.
      When the 3rd generation Honda Fit came out I wasn't sure how I felt about it's new look and was also disappointed that we didn't get the Hybrid version.
      It is sad that they are no longer available for sale in the U.S. but I don't think the 4th generation would have sold to well based upon it's new look.
      What do you think of the current Honda Jazz?

    I'm currently driving across the country in my Fit, about 3500 miles in total.
    I was thinking just today, how nice it would be if my car had just a little sound insulation. Here you are!
    Thanks for showing us your DIY upgrades on an already fantastic car. And thanks for inspiring me to start a few projects once I finish this trip!

      Let me know if you have any ideas for the seat!
      I plan on swapping it out entirely and/or try out the seat extenders on my next adventure. They give you the ability to slide the seat back an extra 4".

    The best way is to do the inner and outer skin. It will be much better speaker quality and will help keep the frost from coming inside.

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  Год назад +1

      Hi James, I read a lot of conflicting information on how to install the sound deadener (anywhere) but I do believe you are right.
      From what I recently read, its best to apply this particular type of stick on mat to the inner skin of the door and use more a rubber mat on the outer skin. What do you think?
      I'm going to borrow a thermal imaging camera from work and take a few pictures of my car and take it from there :)

    • @Aijames
      @Aijames Год назад +1

      @@HondaFit4Adventure the thoughts and principles behind it all is to block the cold before it’s to the inner panel in the first place. As far as sound goes , that’s what I do for a living. The principle behind it is that you are keeping the panel directly behind the speaker from resonating therefore stopping the back wave of the driver from interfering with the front wave. As everyone knows when you have a metal panel behind a speaker you can feel that panel moving. When sound treated with deadener and closed cell foam you no longer can feel the panel moving . Panel movement is lost sound energy to the resonance of the panel.

    When I installed sound deadener on my doors, I applied it only on the outside sheet metal. I would peel off the tar lined plastic and reach into the door cavity.

    How many pads total of Kilmat for the whole Fit? Ceiling and flooring included?

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  Год назад +1

      I purchased 3 boxes of Kilmat. There are 34 sheets to a box. amzn.to/3Dw9Cf8
      1 Box for the Trunk area to the edge of the rear seats
      1/2 a Box or less for the roof. I used the other half of the box to cover the floor boards.
      Last, I barely used 1/3 of a box for the doors.

    Hi, love your videos. Just got mine 2019 gk5 fit today. It is the basic Japan trim so no back speakers. Through your videos I'm confident to install them myself. Do you happen to know the rear speaker diameter I need to install? Thanks in advance!

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  Год назад +1

      Hi Dins. I had no idea the Japanese base model came with no rear speakers.
      Crutchfield.com listed the rear speaker size as 6.5" and 6.75" inches or 165.1mm and 171.45mm
      Does your rear door still have a place to secure the speaker behind the panel or will you have to create a bracket?
