Oooof. That is a challenge and not something that we have ever had to do. Can you not remeasure your client but this time take those measurements? Good luck!
Each technique is different, we place the fingers under the arm to add ease to the armhole. We are currently changing our measurements system and block drafting process to remove this ease and replace it with a more dynamic ease. However, if you prefer, you can measure the armscye depth without using the fingers to create a more fitted armhole and sleeve.
Hi Shahid. The armscye depth measurement is the armhole depth measurement. We've simply added three fingers ease. If you want to take the armhole measurement, place a pen up into the armpit. Make sure it sticks out the back of the arm. Draw an invisible line from this pen across the back until it reaches the centre back line. Measure from this point to the nape of the neck. That is the true armhole depth measurement. Hopefully this helps answer your question?
Very helpful ☺
Thank you!
How to calculate armhole depth with only armhole and bust measurements ?? Any idea ??

0:07 flexible fingers!... or can everyone hold up 3 fingers without their thumb helping out?
It should be a simple/ natural posture for the hand.
How to record the armcye measurements
Hello can you please explain why we have to put the hand there? Some books say we just measure from neck to the level of arm edge.
