This is weird. To me... krump is about having an art form to express your emotions through, especially difficult ones. It's a way to show others who you are and be witnessed and validated by your peeps. The biggest difference I see between Tight Eyex and Beast is this... Eyex is saying "I'm the only one worth listening to" and Beast is bringing all the other quality teachers onto his platform and letting them share their wisdom. It doesn't matter who's the better dancer. They're both great. What matters is how they're introducing new people to the art. And in that arena, Beast is #1 because he's inclusive instead of being divisive.

I know krump is much more than that, but PART of it is taking your life, your feelings, your identity, and creating powerful, expressive art out of it. The thing about this art form is that you never know what someone will get out of it down the line... many years after it was created. We all have our own reasons for doing something, and they might be different from yours. I think it's cool to just ask people why they do it. I've asked teachers and students, and many of them have agreed with what I said in my comment.
