I definitely added some of these to my TBR list thanks to this vid! Always looking for new thriller recommendations!
When it comes to Ruth Ware, I love everything she’s written but when it came to Turn of the Key and One by One I saw the twists by the first third of the book. My absolute fave of hers is hands down The Woman in Cabin 10, with In a Dark, Dark Wood as a very close second. And I disagree with you on “the best” of Riley Sager’s 😜 I loved Lock Every Door and I do think it’s faster paced, BUT my favorite one of his is The Last Time I Lied. That was probably one of my favorites I read in 2020.

The Last Time I Lied is the one Riley Sager I haven’t read yet! Hahah I’ll definitely have to read it now!!

If I didn’t went into this backlist videos I’ll never know that those books are like Literary Thrillers. I still am weirded by the phrase “slow yet thrilling” (but it must make sense).
Like, I did call Iain Reid’s writing as Philosophical Thriller when I recommended them to friends.

I loved, The Guest List, but mostly I loved the stormy, sea and old house feels. I live in a city that doesn’t have much weather, it’s practically Spring for like 75 percent of the time.

Dear Ashley, I am looking at the candle on your book shelf. Is it artificial flame? It is very close to your books. These comments are made with respect x

I loved The Guest List and No Exit. I'm excited for He Started It, I love unreliable narrators. The majority of my reading is thrillers so I have a long list of recommendations but ones I thought of right away that I enjoyed were The Other People and The Chalk Man both by C.J. Tudor, Broken Girls by Simone St. James, Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes and Maestra by L.S. Hilton. Maestra is an erotic thriller so if you don't like a lot of sex scenes I would skip it. My last recommendation is more of a literary thriller but it's probably my favorite book of all time and I want everybody to read it and it's The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes.

For those who like unreliable narrators, even though it's always stupid to say this before hand since you don't want to spoil it. But possible unrel-narrator books, if you might like them, are Sleep (CL taylor) and Last seen Alive (Claire Douglas) books.

I finished "The One" last night and thought it was great. I then turned on the Netflix series.....and turned it off halfway through the first episode. I didn't even know what i was watching. Definitely a disappointment.
Evelyn Hardcastle was awful to me. I couldn't get into it at all, so I ended up DNFing it and skipping ahead to find out what happened... And the ending was so stupid to me.
"Lock Every Door" was awesome. Literally a one sitting read for me.

So you mean all of these are literary fiction dramas? With drama elements, and slowburn..? So no thrilling/thriller elements, no suspense? Why are you calling this a thriller list then? Hmm.. Anyway, have heard both really bad (too slow, no suspense) of the Family upstairs but some seem to like it also.. Seems just to be a really slow, slow drama..maybe I'll pick it up.

I added a bunch of different types of thrillers since everybody likes something different! If you’re looking for fast-paced, books like The Guest List and The One are definite page turners!

And by the way, if you haven't read No one Home by Tim Weaver, give it a shot. I was blown away by the book. Three families disappear on a Halloween night, with no clues that anybody left their houses, and somebody begins to search for the answers.

@@ashleyslittlelibrary The No one Home book is part of a series, just remembered, but it doesn't matter, it's totally a stand alone book no problems there. The time totally flies by when you read it and try to figure out what happened to the families.,
