I think this is partly incompetence and partly intentional by the vested interests (neo cons, defense contractors, multinationals) to create the conditions in N years to give cover & justification for US troops to back in for Afghanistan 2.0. All cooked up by the CIA. They will say it is to stop terrorism and will probably have (another) false flag immediately preceding this.
Kamala was instrumental in the debacle..
They need to do something with the petitions that are signed. The Government can just pick whoever the hell they want to run for office after having to kick sleepy joe to the curb, they can get the right people into this country and the wrong people out. Shawn, I just joined and when I can do more I will because this work you are doing helps me as the mother of a veteran who cannot and will not speak about his deployment to Kandahar while in the AF. As a medtec, he saw things he still has nightmares about and has PTSD. The day of the withdrawal from Afghanistan happened, my Daughter-in-law called me about my son. He was beyond angry and he felt betrayed. It took everything in me to try to talk him out of his depression. He’s ok but the damage will always be there. I personally need you to continue this work. I am from Afghanistan and i blame my own people for trusting American politicians on surrendering Afghanistan to Taliban.
Let me mention all the support that Taliban got from USA before taking over Afghanistan.
1: They were send to European countries to train for debating against Afghanistan government.
2: They got safety pass to do anything to Afghan people if they don't kill Americans.
3: They punished people that were fighting against Taliban in all provinces in Afghanistan. in some cases they ordered to AFG Government to kill those who fight against Taliban. the best Example is Genral Raziq.
4: in 2 pervious elections USA supported a president that won by cheating and had close ties to Taliban.
i am extremely grateful to all soldiers that came to Afghanistan and did their best to proved security for Afghanistan people. i will never forget seeing American army in streets of Kabul they were always smiling to people and saying HI.

@SlW-lp1ol yeah pretty much everything issued to you is borrowed in the military. There are some things you keep like clothing, certain tools like Leathermans, ECT. But for the most part you have to return it. The soldiers in Afghanistan during the withdrawal left their assigned gear because they were told to by their chain of command. Got back home. Had to pay top Dollar for government issued equipment they left. Shitty thing is if you don't have the money to replace it, since it's government they take it out of your pay regardless who's fault it was.
That is not protocol. In Niger you couldn’t even leave a paperclip.
So to just abandon everything was intentional
Just like the dogs left behind...did ea dog handler have to pay the government back for being ordered to leave/desert those working dogs. Left in a warehouse type bldg, locked in their own kennels, just waiting to be let out...I doubt any of them survived. Our government is the epitome of all that is evil..

I plan to retire at the end of 2025 at 62 after 36 years in Telecom as a sales engineer. My wife will retire in May 2026 and she's loving life! I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
My advice: for newbies to grow financially this year, invest. Saving is good, but investing elevates your finances. Why newbie make huge losses on trade is because investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. that will stop you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problem to new traders, I've learned this from my own experience

When I found the Shawn Ryan Podcast; I sensed the desert walk I have done myself in the relationship to ex work and faith.
Now I won’t stop praying for Ryan because that’s what I do the best. It’s an everyday task. You’re family now. And I don’t back down.
This is just so sickening to me. I am sure it is the same for all veterans who served time in Afghanistan. This information needs to get out to the entire U.S. and it needs to have consequences to those who are involved from top to bottom.
Likewise for all the veterans of the “coalition nations”, like the UK, Canada, etc. Here in Canada many of our Afstan vets are abused, neglected, offered MAID (medical suicide), many homeless or severely PTSD. Our government-media complex says nothing about the truth of Afstan.

It was agreed we would scale back gradually, not how Biden did it. Also, we were supposed to have control over the airport/base. Biden made an under the table deal.
