Among hundreds of amateur and enthusiastic videos and also all the modifications made to an Anet 3D printer ive seen. This design is by far, the one that is best designed. I am almost certain that there is a gain in stability with this horizontal geometry of the axis.
It's a clean and inspiring job that you present here in this video.
Keep up the good work! PEACE!
FYI, the horizontal rods on the X gantry is standard on the A6 - it’s the major difference between A6 and A8.
Cannot thank you enough for this content. Well done. And thankyou to all the thingiverse makers too.
I have the a3 and it has same direct drive which is terrible! I plan on upgrading to the Bowden setup same as how you did. Thanks for leaving all the info in the description
Haven't even watched the video yet and I know it's gonna be great. Keep up the excellent content !
Thanks mate! :) Best regards!
great upgrades i have just got a printer but never done any 3d printing before you video was very good keep up the nice videos
Awesome job man! Looking forward to install these upgrades on my newly acquired Anet A6
Glad you like it man! Take care.
@@NexiTech Happen to have any tips on improving the printing quality by changing the default parameters? Already added lubricant to bearings, improved belt tension and tried varying the bed level. Im currently reading about the different types of fault mechanisms during printing
Good job. You should start experiment with the print settings and print temperature in your slicer. That will have major impact on your prints but it takes time to master it. Also if you want to print every model as fast as possible in best quality possible you would need to adjust print settings for each model you print. When you master it over time 3D printing will be fun and cool as you can print almost anything :)
@@NexiTechThanks for the tips, i feel welcome already in this community. I discovered your A8 videos, so i will use them as a reference. Subscribed btw!
Amazing quality .... i will buy A6 3d printer and i hope to have the same quality...
Beyond awesome!
Jason Burt Thanks mate ;)
where did you get the bearing for the X-axis print? The linear ball bearing linked above would be used for the heat bed. Great Video!!! Did you simply remove the bearing from the housing and slide it into the new X-axis carriage?
midsouth360 Thanks. Yes I just re-use bearing from original X carriage.
Really nice work, thumbs up. A question you use PLA or ABS for the parts?
Great videos on A6. I just got my A6. People are saying braces that you linked to don't work on new A6. Do you have links to braces that will fit the new A6 models? Do you know what changes have been made in newer A6's?
Nice!!!! would love to see you print some flexible filament, and share your best settings for it :) Great Work
Thanks mate! I try to make one video for flex filaments. Cheers!
Nice video! Have you noticed a big difference between the MK8 extruder vs the E3D extruder? I'm planning changing the MK8 extruder to the E3D clone, although I can't find information on the internet about the benefits of the E3D. If you could tell I would appreciate.
Hi, what kind of proxy sensor are you going to use for auto bed leveling ? what do you think of glass bed ? i hope stage 3 will come out soon. Thanks for sharing so many usefull info
Nice Video like always Nexi, did u print all upgrades for the A6 with the A6 or did u use any other printers ? maybe you can upload some settings from your slicer for us.
Best Regards
Thanks Sinan! Well to be honest it was mixed to save some time. If I remember correctly CR-10 print out X carriage. One Z carriage print A6 one Cr-10 and rest of parts was print out my mighty A8 :) There is no need for extra settings for this parts but I do recommend to use lower speed and 0.1mm layer height. Best regards
Hi Nexi Tech, I like this video. Very informative! :)
I'm thinking of upgrading my anet a6 with a bowden extruder aswel. And was wondering if what settings I need to make after it's installed? Or will it work as it is straight away?
Peter W Thanks Peter! Settings are the same. No need to tweak anything in Print settings. Cheers!
Hi, I did the upgrade as you should in video, Thank you for video it is amusing, finally, somebody made decent upgrade for Anet A6
I have a problem with X switch it hasn't stopped the carriage it trembling in his place.
Please help
Brilliant....!!!!
Jakkris P. Thanks mate! :)
Another great set of upgrades, I'd love to have the files for them.
I just saw the links mate, awesome.
great upgrades
TechyRodsWire Thanks mate! Glad you like it :) Cheers :)
Did those upgrades did any difference in prints quality? Can you print now faster but retain the precision?
The x axis where the x endstop switch is mounted.
What did you use? PLA? PETG? Or ABS?
And what infill etc.?
Z-rod bearing = always a bad idea. If that fixes anything you have other problems :)
Other then that i did about 90% of those upgrades as well! Now I bought a creality cr10s.
What do you mean by z rod bearing?
Oh wait, you meant the constraint on the top of the leadscrew. Lead screws and ball screws are always supposed to be constrained on the ends. That’s how they work. It’s only a bad idea when you’re using threaded rod as lead screws which are always bent. Even cheapish four start 8mm diameter 8mm pitch lead screws (as used in most printers) shouldn’t even notice whether there’s a bearing on top or not - except that we usually underconstrain them at the motor end by using shitty couplers, and you get around that by underconstraining them at the other end as well. It’s a miracle we can print 0.05mm layers, frankly.
Your axes move so quietly! Did you change the bearings? Mine make alot of noises :O
Nope I use lithium grease to lubricate bearings. Look on my Anet A6 review video you can see it there ;)
Cheers mate, Im going to watch the video!
I ordered some for my own printer - looking forward to the results! I want to stick with the linear bearings even though people say that friction based bearings are more quiet, they tend to have, well... higher friction. I suppose this is not good for the motors on the long term?
Very nice upgrade plz can you share a link for the fan duct you use
Thanks
Ahmed Farouk Thanks mate! Fan duct are included with x carriage. You have link in video description.
Nexi Tech thanks
Hi Nexi .. may I know what material u using for all the support u printed .. petg or pla? thanks
Hi Joey! I print out everything in black PLA because I didn't have PETG but I did testing. I heat up nozzle to max temps and I leave it for 15 min then I measure temps on upper part of heat block and its was way below PLA melting point so no problem using PLA on this X carriage.
oh .. Alright nexi thank you so much .. I had just purchased the a6 from the link .. can't wait for it to arrived !!
You welcome mate! Thank you so much for supporting my channel. Best regards! :)
Nexi Tech Hi Bro .. I got my printer .. may I know what the configure (add printer ) setting for cura 2.5 .
Yes mate! Settings fro stock A6 right? Go to: Preferences/Printer/Add/custom/ write Anet A6 /Printer settings
X 220
Y 220
Z 230
Build plate shape (rectangular)
Heatbed (checked)
Machine center is zero (unchecked)
Nozzle 0.4
X min 0
YMin 0
X max 0
Y max 0
Gantry height 0
GCode flawor RepRap(Marlin).
P.S. Cura 2.5 can't be connected to PC , CURA 1.56 works with PC. Check SD that you got with your printer you have everything you need to set up your A6.
Good luck! Cheers!
wow COOL! I just subscribed to your yt account. im gonna buy this printer. and maybe the upgrades of the bed/microSD card
Thanks mate! Welcome :) Cool!
Did you get a sensor yet? I got mine but when using auto home the sensor is to far away from the heatbed to trigger. Did you solve that problem?
I find it kind offunny, that there are enough people that upgrade their Ender 3 to direct drive, while others mod their Anet A6 to bowden tube. Maybe the grass is greener on the other side?^^
Do you have a different link for the bearing used in your Z wobble upgrade? The link you provided doesn't work anymore. If not could you maybe give some measurements of the bearings?
i think i found the correct link :
www.thingiverse.com/thing:2084622/#files
but what for bearing we must use please Nexi Tech ?
and a correcting is made:

If the anet a6 worth the extra money or should I get an a8? Or is it better to get a tevo tarantula and then get a larger bed and a dual extruder?
Tiberio Cellini Anet A8 has more upgrades and A6 has better LCD and knob. Other then that A8 is nice 3D printer with very affordable price. Go with A8. I don't recommend Tevo tarantula and especially not dual extruder. Tarantula is harder to assembly, dual extruder is harder to level and tricky to use. During printing other nozzle can also knock out the print and mess it.
Nexi Tech thanks
I like your video :) can you make Auto bed leveling video for Anet A6 plz 😀
Hi Nexi Tech, i will place the mosfit-module at the same place as you did : above the connection-print of my Anet A6 3D-Printer.
But i searched for the mounting-plate of the mosfet-module in your list and on thingiverse.com . Maybe it does not exist?
I know its a kind of a square above the mosfet-module but .
Please can you show me where to find or can you give me the *.stl ? Or must i make it myself?...i don't know...
Thank you for making all this videos to help us building the A6....it is very good explained.....great work....
Oke....i am so sorry but i did find on thingiverse.com alot of examples to make .......
but if there is a same module-holder then this from you, Nexi Tech , please can you let me know?.....thanks....thanks.....thanks....
Do the X carriage upgrades really help that much?
amazing
Did you have to go into the firmware and adjust anything for the new E3D V6
hello nexi i want to make my anet a6 bowden but i already have a sensor working on my machine rn is there room on the x carrige your using rn for the sensor?
much thanks
did you use any glue to mount the flexible filament guide to the extruder?
Jasson Sanchez Yes I use double-sided tape.
For the BOWDEN and the X-CARRIAGE you have put the same link??
Check the part 1 video. I think the links are there too.
Fixed! Sorry for wrong link. After whole night of working It seems I missed it.
Nexi Tech, did you drill the holes in the endstop wider ?
W. Toelis Yes I did.
Thnx for your quick reaction. What size ?
W. Toelis I sorry it was long time ago i don't remember. I believe it was 3.5mm
what firm ware are you runing and what and how dit you change this for the e3d hotend
Helloo ...
So since you tried both A8 & A6 .... which one is more reliable?
When you said ''reliable'' that remands me on car. You mean which one will last longer? Well both printers have same extruder, steppers, motherboard, power supply etc. They share same components. So I would say they are pretty much the same in reliable comparing.
Nexi Tech Thank you for your reply.
Okay, let me simplify what I need to ask...
If you were me, which one are you going to buy?
A8.. A6... Or creality CR 10?
hesham zakaria CR-10 but I3 mega is very good as well. Check it ruclips.net/video/j3dEJdK10YY/видео.html
Nexi Tech
Thank you very much for your quick reply :)
I watched your review about the i3 Mega, the quality looks very good...
But as far as I know... CR10 product dimension is 300 x 300 x 400... And i3, as you are saying in the video, is 210 x 210 x something :D
Both prices are close...
I think in this case I may go with the one which has bigger printing dimensions...
Thank you for your help, and I wish you all the best...
hesham zakaria I agree! Go with CR-10. Check this link :) ruclips.net/video/cRpmjDcGVfg/видео.html under video description in this link there is link of CR-10 and there is copong for cheaper price as well. Best regards and thank you for supporting my channel :)
hi there
i have anet a6 with main board virgen2 do you know how to upgrad it to auto levleing i try the sky net framwork but at arduino hade error " rong board" becuse the frame work for v1 not for v2
regard
hay nexi . sorry i keep bugging you about the anet a8 with the E3D v6, but i cant get my retraction settings right. what are yours? :
Ryker Try to use same as print speed or little lower. If you print at 45mm use 35mm(retraction) or similar. If that don't work check your Teflon tube is it insert all the way in to the hot block and check your nozzle for any leaking.
what is your retraction distance? thanks for replying
How does the z/x-carriage upgrade help?
Can you share the power supply cover with LCD window please?? This link have no LCD window...........
hacker tom Yes of course my bad. I upload file and link it soon as possible
Nexi Tech ok my friend send me a message please when you upload this file.....
hacker tom ok
Here you go mate! www.thingiverse.com/thing:2367445
Nexi Tech super support thank you my friend! I add it in my Anet a8... :)
Do you have link of 3D model for printing air nozzle?
Can you please review the tevo tarantula
How about TEVO black widow? ;)
What fillament type did you use to print the upgrades?
Christos Drougkas Just cheap Black PLA. You have link in video description. Cheers
Is it holding up ok or did it got deformed by usage? I would like to place my printer in an eclosure for better result in ABS prints but I am affraid because of higher temps the PLA printed upgrades of the printer might not be as strong as in an open enviroment use
Christos Drougkas Yes, it's holding fine. But in your case sense you will use ABS and in enclosure I recommend that you print X carriage in ABS, for Z carriage and other upgrades parts you can use PETG. But for ABS keep in mind shrinking procent is around 2.5% so incense model scale for better fit.
does anyone know what the travel limits are after homing for the stock x carriage on the anet a8 !?
i need help :(
Ryker Flash it with Skynet3D and check it yourself ;)
I changed to the Bowden extruder and changed the Homing limits, and now I went back to the stock anet a8 extruder and I need to know the limits, I'm trying to get the easy way out and not have to measure everything. thank you for replying once again :) you're one of my favorite RUclipsrs btw
But... you’ve accidentally bowdenized it.
Where is the link for the belt stand off mentioned in the video at.. ruclips.net/video/Mh4pvePZfKw/видео.html
Jimdandy1958 Try this one Anet A8 Belt Y-axis holder found on #Thingiverse www.thingiverse.com/thing:1930742
I've never understood these lead screw "supports". They can only possibly make Z wobble worse, either install straight units or mechanically separate the lead screws from X and Y motion. The "supports" only clamp them down tighter so any wobble in the screw is more likely transition into X and Y rather than orbit around freely in the open guide at the top.
i think i found a correction for the above from Stan Boer :
www.thingiverse.com/thing:2084622/#comments
there you can read the same problem as you did........
