Great review guys. The Glenfiddich 15 is a trust worthy bottle and budget friendly at under $100 CAD and that is a good value for a 15 year old. The only gripe I would have is it would be a phenomenal bottle in the 15 year old category with a little higher abv of say 46%. The solera vat process definitely allows for older juice to blend in with the newer spirit offering an interesting layers of flavors. I would skip the 14 year old bourbon barrel though.
We do prefer higher ABV scotches, but then we look at our wallet and the price they command (the good ones at least) then we fallback to some 40% that pack more punch and better symphony of notes. We haven’t tried the new 14 and it’s been a while since we had the old 14, we shall review the new 14 soon and revert back 🥃🥃
i love this 15yr solera - but, instead of this bottle, go for their Airport Retail version (Perpetual 15yr Vat 03) of this same one - it is at 50.2% abv - like plugging this one into an amplifier
