Keeping Carr for another year helps our long term salary cap issues. Since the consensus was that Rattler wasn't ready maybe keeping Carr makes sense. I think we should use our draft to rebuild the offensive line next year. Keep McCoy as the line leader and extend his contract. Use what cap room we have to sign some one year contract veterans for the defense. I wouldn't bitch about using the 1st round pick on a QB or WR if a super talent falls to us. Win out baby! 22:30 - Rewinding MANY years, when I was a kid...my step-dad was stationed at Columbus AFB in Mississippi. After being there a few years he was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK. So I moved from Mississippi to Alaska when I was a kid. And the weeks without daylight only happens north of the Arctic Circle. But with that, even down in Anchorage you go through extended periods without seeing the sun because you're stuck in school or work for the 1-3 hours of daylight over winter.

We must keep Kubiak at least until 2026.

Ownership may be the problem there. Have the Rooney’s or the O Maras always owned the Steelers? (Great, now I’m thinking of Rooney Omara, yuk) Could it be the Steeler family’s ownership is the key to ongoing success- only three HCs in the last 40 years or whatever? Also on the Steelers- that one time they got to pick first, they picked a QB, he coulda been a bust, more than half first round QBs are,- but he wasn’t, won them two pairs of back to back SBs. They also had a really good coach and the #1 defense that year. Do we have anything comparable for a rookie quarterback to step in and have similar success? It’s not necessarily about the player you could draft but how you leverage the draft capital via trade and such. If you had 2 first round picks a season ago, Lamar Jackson could literally have been your starting QB. Teams that had two first rounders look like morons not jumping on that opportunity. Hell this season for a 3rd or 4th round pick, top Wide receivers were being moved. Draft capital matters!

The only guys that are possibly 1st round caliber QBs are Quinn Ewers and Shedeur Sanders and the Saints fans screaming to dump DC4 would absolutely RIOT if the Saints drafted Quinn Ewers.
