No matter you are familiar with Chinese Mythology or not, no matter you like this type of game or not, you can't deny the Chinese developers put sheer amount of work in game play, sceneries, art work, music and representation of the myth. This might be the best look & feel of a game out of the box. Absolute respect!

The best part is that the chanting is an actual buddhist mantra. Called "Pure Land Rebirth Mantra" or something like that. Forgive me (other commenters) if I got some bits wrong but from what I remember it's recited to guide the dead into a better reincarnation or guide them into the Land of Ultimate Bliss.

I think you misunderstood and underestimated what the 72 Transformations mean my friend, so as a Chinese I have to correct you of how you are underselling how overpowered Wukong truly is. 72 Transformations is a misleading name, but it doesn't mean Wukong has 72 shapeshifting forms. What 72 Transformations truly means is that Wukong has 72 UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT ABILITIES. Shapeshifting is just ONE OF THEM, and his shapeshifting is limitless, as in he can literally shapeshift into ANYTHING, not just 72 things. There are other abilities in his 72 Transformations, like superspeed, superstrength, weather manipulation, immobilisation/paralysing others, creating impenetrable wards, astral projection, telekinesis, entering dreams and dream manipulation (like Freddy Kruger), soul destruction (he can destroy souls or soul like entities like ghosts, and once your soul is destroyed there is no afterlife nor reincarnation, it literally is the end of your existence), invisibility, phasing through walls, rock and the ground, flying, waterbreathing (can breathe like normal underwater, which also means he can't drown), substitution (like Naruto leaving behind a substitute when hit), summoning items (like Harry Potter using Acio to call his Firebolt broom), communicating with and commanding animals, drawing energy from the surrounding and eliminating the need to eat or drink, changing Fate (Wukong literally has the power to interfere with Fate. Game Science has recently registered 3 more Black Myth titles. A few years back, they had expressed that they plan on a trilogy, so 2 of these titles maybe used.
It's not a souls-like, don't worry, the main inspiration of black myth wukong is God of War, it's not going to be that difficult, it's going to be a challenge but not as difficult as elden ring, sekiro etc
Black wukong is more like a hack and slash, like bayonetta, ninja gaiden, DMC and GOW. souls games are slow, repetitive in gameplay, and you don't have skill tree. Nowadays every third person game is called souls like game, but hack and slash games came out before the souls and were always third person action and with fast and better gameplay than those slow repetitive soul games. The main reason why the souls games are called hard is because of the bad gameplay that is very slow and simple, so that makes things hard, but the difference of the gameplay of the souls games is that is not fun to play, like hack and slash games.
According to players who attended close BETA last month, this is more of an action run, though it does use souls-like bonfire, etc. I do hope the difficulty is high, as long as it handles superbly.

As matter of fact I hoped they’d go towards Chinese mythology and some way incorporate Atreus into being some off shoot of wukong, which would give us an explanation to Atreus developing more transformations. But we still don’t have concrete evidence on if the next installment will be in Egypt. I say off shoot of wukong. Because I’ve watched some lore videos and theory videos about this game. And some theorized that this monkey may not be the “original Wukong” but another going on a journey of his own. I believe you theorized that as well in one of your videos. So maybe some how they could of incorporated Atreus into this mythos when he came looking for “giants who escaped to other lands”. But that’s just something crazy I thought of. I’m sure you could come up with a better theory than me and flush it out with more details. Also the only the only way I see them not giving him too much transformations is because it’s a smaller game like ghost of Sparta or chains of Olympus. I LOVE different mythologies and that's the only reason why I'm looking forward to this. As far as the "GAME" part of this game is concerned, I have zero interest. I'm just so bored of games where you run around and kill everything on screen... it's so boring. I wish this was a different genre ngl
