Why does Carlene & Dave sing this together while she was married to Nick? THEY should’ve been put together here (Momma June & stepdad Johnny liked it so much that THEY recorded it together. I guess that counts for something’)! Great band (stockpile), GREAT accompaniment (Carlene), & a great accomplishment. Cheers, everyone! 👍
I mistyped the name “Rockpile” as “stockpile”. JESUS!, I’m so f*****’ stupid! My apologies, Dave & Nick! (See my other comment to know WTF I’m talkin’ ‘bout!) Carry on. 🤔
Why in the hell didn’t this band take a break after their only album. Do some solo material then get back together and record some more albums. I’ll never figure that one out.
It's dreadful, the amount of lip-synching musicians have to do in order to promote their stuff. Rockpile had the best barnets of their time. Alas, their one album does not convey the cracking, driving, swinging rock & roll that they walloped the public with at their live concerts.
It’s hard to figure it out because there was so much talent in that band. They made wonderful solo albums afterwards. I wish they’d given it another go.
@@danielcombs3207 When Rockpile were recording Seconds of Pleasure, Nick Lowe was already losing interest in playing loud fast rock & roll. Dave Edmunds was more than annoyed with Lowe's heavy drink and cocaine habit. It's not hard to figure out--read the superb Will Birch biography of Lowe for the complete details.
Rockpile made roots rock cool and contemporary. The greatest band (as well as Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds as solo artists) of the 1970s and 1980s!
Ah Rockpile! Nothing better
It never gets old, does it? Love their music then and always ❤! So glad I got to see them in person🙏🏻👍🏻🎶🎵🎸.
You might say, now and always.
rockpile ... of course
Love Ms Carter's guitar.
How did I miss this. Great video. Two of my favorites and that third song is perfect!!!!
Real music. Thank you.
The Best !!!!! (from Sweden)
Have played before !
Умели раньше лабать ! Душевно !
Mystery Harmonica solo at 9:22. Think it is actually Huey Lewis.
That's what I'm told - I thought it might be Lew!!
Yeah, Huey was a known associate of these guys.
I thought it was sounding like Magic Dick of J.Geils fame

GREAT band - ROCKPILE (NOT Stockpile!!!! I mistyped. My TERRIBLE bad!)
Dave sings better than Nick.. Plus.. WHO wouldn't want to sing with Carlene? I just wish they done Swap Meat Rag

the very nice guitars aren't plugged in ... i expect more from these guys ...

Yeah, the lip-synching is total crap. These guys should have released a live concert album.

@@mbogucci1That’s absolutely true because they were a great live band from what I’ve heard.

@@ericmalone3213 What a pity. Thanks for recommending the Nick Lowe bio.
