DJ Riz..this is an old friend of mine. We go back to HS..35 years ago. The guy is a music geek, combined with having a PHD in turntable engineering… but most importanly, he's one of the most down to earth, coolest peeps you'll ever meet. Great stuff Riz.. bringing us way back, with smooth mixes!!
"DJ Riz kills the turntables", such an understatement. The amount of work, digging and editing those tracks, is crazy. This clip is a MUST for all fans of (sample-based) Rap.
Supertyyli can't wait to see your body 🦄🦄👸🏿👸🏿🙎🏻👩❤️👩👨❤️💋👨😀😀😀😀😍😍😍😍😅😅😅😅like music sound better loud more lessons learned that bff and record cd pop hip hop 😍💙
I do but I'm not well known and some people just don't get it. They want songs that they are used to hearing that's why you have DJs doing similar routines.
We do🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I remember a guy here in Philly said he wish he could play like this 🙄 and all honesty I asked them why can't you? And he blamed it on the promoters and club owners..... I told him what's the worst thing that can happen? You get fired lol? I play whatever I want where I'm at especially if it's my personal situation..... And I got some heavy artillery in this lane 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Folks in the comment section getting on Flex about his lack of knowledge of some of these classics and gems! There's a lot of joints I'm unaware of or didn't know there were samples or accapellas of. But after all this is one of the reasons flex is bringing these guys up there. So let's all enjoy and rejoice these dope sets!
Exactly. Easy to say when you're on the internet and can Google anything. I've been DJing for 15 years and I run into stuff I've never heard all the time. That's the fun of this craft.
Thats because they don't know the difference between a DJ, Turntablist and what Flex is "a record player". Flex Plays records he dosen't DJ in the artistic sense. I've been listening to DJ Riz for years, back with Stretch and Bobbito.
beatnuts haven't had a 'hit' in 15 years meanwhile flex is going through hundreds of tracks of music a month not to mention lyrics and freestyle drama...can you blame 'em
Riz !!!! #LEGEND I can listen to Riz do his thing no matter what he’s spinning. Hip Hop, Samples, or Even when he’s on his EDM steez. One of the greatest to ever do it
Finally I've heard rare mixes that I've never heard before. On the real, I get so tired of the same ol song selection from DJs. DJ Riz, you're the best I've heard so far. You had me wondering what was next and I'm impressed my brother. Thank you.
I make it a point to play this set at least once a month. So masterfully crafted, and any DJ who keeps going back to preem joints is A-1 in my book. Thank you, Riz!
I Like Riz mixes. Even though I wish people would learn more global music and bands and blend that into their mixes I.e: los muñequitos de matanzas (Cuba) Tinariwen (Algeria) Children of Zeus (UK) The Mighty Diamonds (Jamaica ) etc…
The fact that Flex couldn't remember The Beatnut's record, but then pulled Ed OG out of his brain before the actual song started playing makes me happy.
The fact that this dude is not one of the most well known hip hop DJ’s is absolutely criminal!
Totally agree. Riz has a permanent spot on my top 5 favorite djs list

Canarsie Finest!!
Wht Don't You Play Mass Apeal
Been DJing for 35 years and I always hear classics that i've never heard before. It's a pleasure seeing Flex listening to another DJ spin the unknown.

Riz is flawless even with the Serato needle/signal issues.
one of my favorites. The level of crate digging and genre hopping is Fire

I grew up listening to Riz and I am indebted. His shows are the soundtrack to my experiences during the 90s. Stretch & Bob too.
Thank you DJ Riz representing Bklyn on the map. Nice clean set.
Funkmaster Flex and Hot 97 are keeping real hiphop alive!!!!!! Flames!!!!
Riz is one of my favorites ever. Beyond the musical knowledge and creativity, he is technically insane.

Dj Riz killed this especially when he went in the crates wow.
Way too dope Above the Clouds is my favorite Dj Premiere beat
Best thing about the whole video, Riz doesn't touch the laptop once.
I guess you weren’t paying attention to his left side. Touching all over the laptop at 15:00. Still a dope set.
@@dj_saint once.
He is using the laptop with the cuebuttons, the browserknob and loop and playbuttons on the mixer (Rane 62)...
And so what if he did?
You mush have your eyes closed the whole time!
He killed that set 🔥
people be thinking djs be having all the songs in the world....WE DONT LOL
He mixing Guru saying "Take money never have to run" What song is that?
True story
@@tricknolte3222 Gangstarr-Dwyck ruclips.net/video/3V8gXmORTCQ/видео.html
Carl Charles People who think DJs have all the songs in the world obviously are not DJs themselves. DJs are not jukeboxes.
Just a clean set. That is what it's all about.
this set is so cleeen big respect to dj riz
Above the clouds 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
I make it a point to play this set at least once a month. So masterfully crafted, and any DJ who keeps going back to preem joints is A-1 in my book. Thank you, Riz!
