At 2:30 into your video you show the phone hard wired and mounted on the handlebars with the usb wire hanging loose outside of the box. Since the phone has to be hard wired to use CarPlay, can you create a video and show how the usb wire can be run inside the box and behind the screen then come up from below the handlebars so it is not loose? I think you need to show how to remove the panel and screen to get to the back side the box. I would like to also avoid drilling another hole in the box and use the existing hole where the usb currently comes into the box.
I did a similar “cheat” by purchasing a cheap headset from Amazon and I just turn on the receiver and it thinks it’s connected. I’ll check out your adapter though. Also is the connection at the usb for the car play loose? Sometimes I have to fiddle with mine to get it to connect. Thanks for the video
I have used a spare set of Bluetooth headphones to accomplish this. Issue I am having when directing the sound to the speakers on the spyder, while playing music, and having maps open on the screen with a destination entered, when the assistant gives audio directions ( make a right turn in a quarter mile ), the Xm audio will cut out and the assistant voice goes to the Bluetooth headphones that are connected to make the spyder allow the audio to go to exterior speakers. Would have been much nicer if they would have just allowed you to choose exterior speakers without a Bluetooth device connected. It’s bad enough you have to have your phone physically connected. The CarPlay in my Toyota, when you enter the vehicle, will pair with your phone automatically and at that point you can use CarPlay.
@@pierre-spydertvpoliquin-sp9082 I have chosen the speakers option, not the Bluetooth headset. The issue is it sends the audio for my maps to the headset. After the audio from maps has completed, xm will then continue to play from the external speakers. I would never know it was happening except for the fact that I had one headphone in my ear and I heard it’s instructions through the headphone.
Nice to know, still doesn’t help me much :) , I got a RT24 and car play works….but no sound if I used the intercom with the passenger….shoei Noetec 3 with the integrated Sena SLR3, I think I will have to spend even more and get the Cardo I just hate that I have so much money in that Sena SLR3……as I understand it the slr3 unlike the slr2 only have one Bluetooth antenna, so can only choose between music or Intercom…
