    I'm gonna use the opportunity of this getting a lot of traction to advertise on a good cause, copy pasted from my discord.
    We are going to do a fundraising stream for the American Cancer Society on November 16th, starting at 3pm CET and going until 9 or 10!
    @Chomps will be joining me for this & I hope we can raise some money for a good cause :CaroLove:
    I'm very honored to have been picked for this so it would make me incredibly happy if we, as a community, can make an impact, even if it's just a small one. ❤
    The timeline will be as followed; We are gonna start with WvW since that's Chomps normal stream content. After that I'm gonna do some PvP or PvE & at 8pm there's a 1v1 tournament happening that I got the allowance for to cast. c:

    the only problem for permastealth is the shadow arts traitline + hide in shadows heal, remove both and d/p thieves need to play with skill again, but the thing is they need to remove the permastealth from the game and make power traitlines viable again like Deadly Arts and lower the initiative increase on specific skills on thief's weaponsets again, coz for example currently a d/p thief can just 5-2 you to death and thats because of shadow arts, but no.. instead what arenanet does, they increase cooldown on UTILITIES like brooooo what? so now EVERY OTHER SPEC IS useless coz of that rofl, ITS THE TRAITLINE! not the skills or utilities, its the damn traitline that carries d/p thief and mainly i also think that wvw has way too many rune/sigil/stats choices, where its basically bunker fiesta and now they are adding another stat to wvw that is giga broken.....

    'Shadow Arts' needs to be completely reworked and 'Silent Scope' shouldn't provide stealth on Dodge.
    Having an option to stealth without counter is just terrible design. Like the heal, 'Hide in Shadows', at least has an interruptable cast time.
    I'd have to give it more thought to come up with a new niche for Shadow Arts to fit in, but it's absolutely making Stealth far too rewarding.

      So well, it's actually not super hard.
      Deadeye...
      Silent Scope; will no longer gain Stealth on dodge. You will now gain 2 seconds of Superspeed on dodge. (Help repositioning)
      Shadow Arts....
      Merciful Ambush; will no longer heal upon entering or exiting stealth.
      Shadow's Embrace; will no longer remove a condition upon entering or exiting stealth. You will now be granted 2 seconds of Resolution and Resistance upon entering Stealth (also up to 4 allies you stealth).
      Meld with Shadows; will no longer grant Superspeed upon entering or exiting stealth. You will now Blind up to 5 enemies for 3 seconds upon entering Stealth.
      Shadow Saviour; increase the healing done on Shadow Steps to slightly compensate for healing lost at Merciful Ambush.
      Leeching Venoms; will no longer provide Spider Venom upon entering or exiting stealth. Increased base health siphoning damage/healing by ~35 each.
      Cloaked in Shadows; will no longer blind enemies upon entering Stealth. Base life siphoning increased by ~35 each.
      Cover of Shadow; will now only provide Protection (3 seconds) upon entering Stealth. It will now also provide Aegis for 3 seconds upon entering Stealth (in PvE only), also up to 4 allies you stealth.
      Shadow's Rejuvenation; will no longer grant Initiative upon entering or exiting stealth. This trait will now share a small percentage (5%?) of Life Siphoning done by the Thief, to their allies in a 180 radius.
      So nerfs stealth abuse, while making Thief (actually (support) specter etc.) more useful.

      the only reason why silent scope is useful is because of the shadow arts traitline btw due to its 1 second stealth giving superspeed, without shadow arts, deadeye is unplayable

      Stealth access without counterplay is just poor design by default... Heck, I'd gladly see Bound altered for similar reasons, but I'd hate to do it to the two S/P players left in the game, lol.

    All I know is the current system so I can't say much on it I guess but so far I haven't heard anyone who has been playing longer than me say they like the current wvw alliance system. I would love to see more small scal groups or I guess roaming groups and if changing the system creates that then I'm all for it. As well as more solos running around
    6:18 100% agree damage while in stealth reveal them. It's an incredibly simple idea but works. currently as is, there is NO negative to being stealthed it feels like. There's also no movement negative for thieves while stealthed which in a sense isn't all that big of a deal but thieves have zero negatives while in stealth but have ALL the advantage. Even as a new player to GW2 I can see how broken stealthing is in the game. It is so annoying to fight I just avoid thieves if I can. idc if I know they're horrible or not. It's just not fun.

    I understand the argument against alliances, but I don't think they can remove it. Since essentially the problem is something like "All the top zergers group together instead of fighting each other" and I'm not sure there's a fix to that. The only way to stop people from stacking that way is to reduce the number of players that can join the map, which would be bad for everyone.
    There's really just no way to split up lazy players that don't want to compete against each other and then are starving for content as a result of that and harming the entire map

      Yea that's true I guess. I don't want it to be removed honestly, as I said I think the core system is really good, the algorithm just isn't there yet.

      the only thing that might change that mentality is if in wvw there is a sliding scale on reward. 50 man zerg takes out 5 defenders, no reward. There is no challenge, no skill and no risk why should there be any reward?

    My recommendation is that base condition damage be lessened by 40% for all dmging conditions and allow the condition damage to scale as well with precision (only doubling the dmg when crit) but not with ferocity. That way condi builds are forced to get another stat precision to do dmg and they would now have to decide if they would need to trickle their remaininng stat points to expertise for condi durations or toughness/vitality for sustain.
    I think this could effectively even out the playing field for power builds to contest them as condi builds would now have to decide on going glass canon or being a bunker but not doing so much dmg due to lack of expertise that was placed in precision

      This could also work, but since expertise is already in the game my approach would probably be to just lessen condi duration by a lot to make expertise matter and a neccesity. Then it's 2:3 but condis have the disadvantage that you can cleanse them

    Former thief main - I've completely swapped to playing support specs due to a couple of points in the video:
    - Stealth isn't interactive and lack of build diversity on thief. Anet has balanced thief around shadow rejuv which is the main issue. Thief shouldnt be rewarded for not interacting with the enemy. Initiative costs are too high to not take it.
    - Everything is too tanky and doesn't die. Toughness and sustain in wvw is overtuned so I'd rather just heal my allies rather than hitting like a wet noodle unless I play power willbender.
    - Alliances has caused everything to become blobby - may as well play support to take on larger numbers.

      - I agree, I used to like playing thief but i genuenly REFUSE to play like I'd have to to win mirrors.

      as a support main, please don't buff minstrel... I'd love to see more offensive stats including healing power though, you can basically do everything in the game on any class anyways so like Major Power Major Prec Minor Vita Minor Healing Power sounds wicked

    Idk man, I'm not a fan of cele myself, but I see myself using cele more lately, because it's all group play now, I rarely run into a 1v1 in prime time, always 3 or more
    And no matter how good you are, if you're running a zerker build and face 3 noobs they will just stun lock you until the next day while having a stupid sustain because guess what, they're using cele as well, and even newbies now always run with a support, yesterday I ran into 3 reds on the camp, hammer druid, support fb, and a cele reaper. I was on my wb, and the amount of cc's I had could kill a dungeon boss, stun, daze, fear, chill, knock, my God! I downed the druid twice and reaper once but couldn't finish because the condi pressure was high and the perma cc's were annoying.
    Eventually I lost, then changed to my cele harb and looked for those lovely guys again, and I killed them with much less effort. I could do the same with cele cata.
    As much as I don't like cele, it's a bad solution to an annoying problem, but a solution nonetheless.

    Doing any attack should reveal you from stealth 100%. And stealth on dodge shouldn't even be a thing I mean comon Anet.

      Neither should Leap on dodge (bound) imo. You already get 15% damage from Bound dodge ;-;

      Full Celestial w/ Surging rune & Rivers relic. I haven't really tried it a bunch in WvW but I'd almost assume Power is just better. It's a PvP build :)

    I find it a bit strange that so much was discussed about stealth and thieves, but nothing about Willbender. Thief is one of the least-played classes, while it feels like every third player is a Guardian. Also, roaming is just a niche that players have adopted for themselves. In my eyes, all the support and tanky nonsense is slowly ruining the game mode. Holy Trinity in competitive settings is just garbage, and that's exactly why so many MMOs have terrible PvP.
    it's a shame because GW2 was one of the only MMOs at launch that managed without the Holy Trinity-until all these WoW-minded people came along and ANet started doing the same rubbish as Zenimax did with ESO.

    agreed, and even from a zerg perspective the alliance is making the whole thing much less fun. one big problem with alliances is that by now all the sweaty zerglings have formed alliances with each other, and all the casuals end up allying with each other, so the result is that people are always fighting the same groups. it was a terrible idea to allow 500 people in one alliance, they should limit any wvw guild to 60 people so that realistically you'd only see like 20-30 from one guild playing at a time. then small scale would be much more common

    When you stealth, you should move significantly slower (baseline, half speed). Perhaps traits might be introduced to specifically improve on stealth speed. The fact that, at the moment, there are mechanics that specifically provide superspeed on stealth is just absurd - I enjoy them on a regular basis, but they should have no place in a credible implementation of stealth.

    Agree to most of your points. The stealth nerf would be to hard, but its atleast a good idea, maybe buff then on the other hand.
    Fact is: Anet dont care for roamers since over 8 years. The roaming time is just gone

      Yea it is pretty dark. I've changed my mind on stealth a bit since. Many people have pointed out that stealth is solely an issue on SA Thief and I agree. They need to nerf SA heavily.

    Don't really have anything to debate as I agree with most of what you said, but I would like to add a little something to the condi balance.
    Aside from stats, the other thing is that there aren't as many condition damage modifiers in trait lines compared to power either, which also allows them to take more defensive trait lines without losing much or any damage. Playing power, I really feel the reduction in damage if I swap a damage trait line for a utility or defensive trait line, but on trailblazer it makes little impact in terms of damage. So not only is there the stat budget difference, I'd also say trait budget difference too.
    Also, at minimum, expertise should not affect non-damaging conditions.

      This is true! I probably should've at least had a notepad open with things to talk about. I completely didn't talk about mounts & I'm a certified mount hater.
      I feel like the better way to make expertise matter is by greatly reducing condition duration by default so you NEED it on condi builds. That way you at the very least require 2 stats instead of 1:3.

      That's a really good idea!, reduce the base duration of all the conditions with damage, so they need expertise as a second mandatory stat to deal damage in a condi build, and remove all the runes with insta 50% condi duration and remove Trailblazer or rework, condi, vitality and expertise, idk.

    I don't agree to limit the stats of wvw with the pvp stats, one of the reasons i prefer wvw than pvp is the theory crafting, mix different stats, etc. Once said this, yes, some sets of stats are problematic and need balance, like you said, to play power you need to sacrifice defensive stats but to play condi damage you can go full healt and thougness without losing damage...

      I think it would be fair if expertise actually mattered/required. That way you need 2 stats over 3 but your stuff can be cleansed & you can't be insanely tanky.

      @@CarolinDnB An alternative thing I was thinking but it might be too dramatic of a change would be for power to only have 2 offensive stats needed. Like if they removed ferocity as a stat for example and scaled damage accordingly or had crit damage partially tied to both power and precision. And yeah if they also made expertise more important for condi then both forms of damage would require 2 stats.

    Bunch of yapping from a solo player in a large scale group mode. It has been said since the beginning that wvw is large scale pvp and spvp is a small scale pvp game mode. Roaming is just a niche within the wvw environment. If you want to solo duel or play without tanky stats then go play spvp and stay solo on a node.
    Stealth is busted in gw2. Nothing they can do about it without changing the whole class. Which they wont do.

      I'm surprised how many people got recommended this that have no idea who I am.
      I main sPvP, but it all started with WvW, just like with many many other players. It's just sad to see the moments I logged into to find good and interesting duels all day turned into.. well.. this?
      Also, yes they can. The SA traitline needs to be entirely reworked.

    2:19 my speculation is to prevent exploitation which they can never fix lol but I'm not sure tho, just randomly guessing ;p I'll pay attention to the impact
    I personally am not super against it bc I have a free acc, aka mountless, so I can imagine it is a good change for new players who don't have a warclaw yet^^

      It doesn't change stuff. You can solo any boss on deadeye including every keep boss on T3 with iron hide in the entire game.
      Also, a friend of mine reported about 10 ways to get into multiple red keeps a few years ago & they just threatened to ban him for showing it to them lmao.
      ArenaNet themselves said that fixing this quote "isn't on their priority list"

      @CarolinDnB yeah, they couldn't fix it since I heard it created more bugs once they tend to. We'll see if it works bc if it takes longer to kill the lord then it becomes less attractive to exploit, also gives mountless players have more time to catch on the ring.

    Put the PvP amulet in WvW and we end up with the exact same meta ? When a class is strong everyone gonna play it and roll on other class don’t think it’s a viable solution

    I play gw2 gor about a year now got 750hours into it and about 160 matches in pvp and i hate thieves and mesmers they are not fair in any sense their stealth options are wayyyy to strong even if they are lil harder to play. Riskvs reward is to high

      Thief is NOT hard to play. The only reason high ranking players will tell you it is hard to play (in PvP) is because of rotations. Mesmer stealth honestly isn't an issue imo.

    There should be a movement penalty while in stealth. Switfness and superspeed are just negated

      Well currently if you are in stealth and you play SA you actually GET Superspeed, I guess it could be an angle to remove speed in stealth yea. 0:

    It feels like most people can figure out "the problems" with WvW (PVE foods, PVE stats, nobody defends etc), but every patch still adds on top with things that make fighting larger groups harder, and flipping stronger, so zergs just never engage & are bored out of their minds lol
    Roamers having more impact on winning a matchup leads to zergs caring about them, which splits manpower, naturally leads to meaningful fights in different scales etc. sucks to have a gamemode with so many potential builds and everyone builds for 50vs50 yknow
    I also always thought the pip system discourages defending/camping objectives longterm as you often have to run around and gain participation somehow

    LOL talks recently? Roaming is afk walking simulator since 2020, it's completely dead for years, and no wonder since Anet let thief run rampant. The gamemode is a pvdoor blobfest for years because Anet is inept and it's how it will continue. The game is actively getting both worse and more dead with Roy, Cmc and whoever parasocial devs they got, talentless people, absolute cope.

    They need to create a quick ui button for tricks & traps, so we have easy access to the reveal trick. Buuuut, they’ll prob just restealth again..

    You seem to be confusing PvE (player vs Environment) with WvW which is Player v Players!!! It is a huge difference. In WvW you're not fighting the environment unless you're talking about lords... Otherwise you're fighting other players whether in an organized group or solo it's still you against other REAL PLAYERS not computer generated environmental players.... Also Condi builds require Condi, Expertise, and power (which does add to per tick dmg on condi) so it's 3 stats for each!
    I do agree about the ridiculous amount of stealth Thieves get as well as huge number of nearly endless ports.

      Respectfully what? I know? I've played the game since 2012 and I only got into Fractals literally a month ago. I breathe PvP & WvW & play both at a respectable level I' d say.
      Condi builds do NOT require Expertise nor power. Power has 0 Influence on your amount of condition damage and the base condi duration is so high that there is no point in even taking expertise, only on a very few select builds like burn stuff or core necro for fear duration. That's it.

      @@CarolinDnB W8 a sec. Expertise affects the duration of fear? I thought the game considered it a cc even if its a condition, hence no longer duration on expertise. pls tell me if im wrong so i can go craft a demonic fear chain build :D
