My son just enlisted in the army for this Job. Makes me proud on keeping the signal corp tradition going in the family as I was a tech controller 31P back in the day
@@orbenpastrana5975 I was able to very easily. I had a job locked with 5.5 months left before I left the Army. Granted, I was in for 10.5 years 7.5 in SATCOM and I was really good at my job and networking through phone calls and visiting each other paid out for me. 1983 when I got out of the Army.
@@ET2carbon You can get disabled driving to the work site in the civilian world. At least in the army if you get hurt you can go to the VA and try to get some benefits out of it.
Ah good ol 25S. Just know you will all mostly go tacsat and not strategic. Well when I went through AIT in 09' we all mostly went tactical. Granted GWOT was still going on. But I loved my job and can say I am continuing to do that in the civilian sector. Just know I recommend staying in for more than 4 years as job experience will be a big factor in getting a satcom job outside the military without a degree. But nothing beats sitting around in Afghanistan antenna is up so you get to relax and play xbox all day... Until CSM walks in and loses his mind.
