I’m currently a graduate student focusing on programming. I really want to reclass because my current MOS has 0 relevance to what I’m going to school for. I noticed the video mentions computer programming towards the end but I want to be sure, so would this be a good choice to reclass to?
@@jonathanruiz9062They give you all of the training that you’ll need. I’ve attended a STEM school and a tech high school, so I had experience in tech; but they teach you everything you need to know.

100 times yes. ever since I got out in 2015 I've bounced around to different contracting jobs. Having a security clearance comes a long way. One thing I high recommended getting while you are a solider is a security plus certification. You make the Army pay for it and it opens a lot of doors for you when you have the secret clearance, security plus, and military 25 B experience combo.

@@prettyboishah2898 I used to enjoy interacting with people until I did 5 years of helpdesk, it makes you not enjoy it anymore. People are aggravating to support, even moreso in the 2020s. Maybe military helpdesk wouldn't be as bad as the public, but any helpdesk is in general a miserable job imo. I'd prefer a hardware or cyber sec MOS

I'm sure that all MOSs are deployable units, the difference is the frequency of those deployments. You could get one with almost guarantee of being deployed but you could get one that you'd have to be lucky to be deployed
@@FadeHook23 I mean, that's probably better. I was expecting packet tracer just for some fundamental and low level stuff. But it's better to work with the real gear. I'm pretty comfortable with Cisco iOS so I'm not too worried and would rather work on real gear anyways

100 times yes. ever since I got out in 2015 I've bounced around to different contracting jobs. Having a security clearance comes a long way. It covers both hardware and software. You could pursue a career doing customer service on a help desk.
