  • A quick overview of my Dingwall D-Roc Standard 5 in Aquamarine Sparkle.
    Note - swapped the neck and MIDDLE pickup - not the neck and bridge as I (stupidly) said in the video. Shout out to Matthew Checkley for the tip!
    Also, I have a channel called 'V-Town Guitars' which is what I say at the start but I have lost the login details for this page, hence why it's on my personal page (for now).

    Also waiting for that follow up video! Would love to hear the sound examples of the swapped pickup positions 🙏🙏🙏

    Swapping the middle and neck is a cool idea! You gain the jazz bass tone and the P bass tone from neck solo, but lose the Ric and Stingray tones. Does it significantly change the all-in setting? That setting is completely different now too. A different mod to try might be a 6-way selector from Fret Nation, it has all the good stuff and you only miss out on bridge solo which to me is the worst setting.

    Say, I am thoroughly enjoying my D Roc Dingwall! However, I am trying to deal with the strap attachments when standing. The positioning of the embedded straplock buttons is causing my bass neck to turn slightly clockwise where I have trouble seeing the frets when playing standing. I am doing research to try to find simple solutions short of having to drill holes. My previous basses with a similar problem required some creative approaches with velcro!

    I’m interested in hearing how the simple pickup swap would sound!

    Hey mate does dingwall build these mass produced models with mapple fretboard along with the mapple neck? Cheers

      Not the production D-Rocs but it's an option on Custom Shop models. You can buy the production Combustion models with maple fretboards though. Thanks so much for commenting!

    Q: Are those neck illusions you have matte or a gloss finish? I just ordered some and choose the gloss finish after watching one of their comparison video's but I didn't realize until now that the guitar in that video had a gloss neck where ass I have the black and grey D-roc 5 string with the pau ferro neck. Your bass looks beautiful brother. Keep up the great work. Subbed and can't wait to see more of your other vid's.

      These are matte but I've had the gloss ones too. How are you liking your Neck Illusions?

    Hi, how did you managed to swap pickups? I tried to do same to my D-Roc 5, but there was not enough space below the pickups for the pick up wires.

      I actually unscrewed the terminals on the switch and led the wires through the proper holes.

    Hi Scott, great video, where did you get the custom parts? Directly from Dingwall Canada?

      Hey! The knobs came from Bass Direct here in the UK but you can buy the directly from Dingwall. The "Neck Illusions" came from here - neckillusions.com/collections/dingwall-multiscale-bass-guitar-markers-only

    Do you know if Dingwall makes any other models in Korea?

    • @v-townguitars
      @v-townguitars  Год назад

      No, just the D-Roc Standard 5. The D-Roc 4, Combustion and NG models are made in China but they ALL go through the Dingwall facility in Canada before being shipped to retailers. The quality control is second to none.

      @@v-townguitars Thanks for the information. I don't doubt the quality. I have four Canadian-made Dingwalls. (My main concern is political. I'm just not a fan of that particular government.) The D-Roc is not quite my taste, though, but if there was a Korean Combustion or NG, I would go for it.

      I have a Chinese made NG and it's one of the nicest basses I've ever owned. I've yet to own a Canadian Dingwall though.

      And actually the Korea D-Roc run didn't go very well so they shifted it back to China.

      In this video,you told us change neck and bridge,but may it be neck and middle?

    • @jhzhou17
      @jhzhou17 Год назад

      mode 4 is all pickup,3 is middle,2 is bridge and middle,1is bridge
      if I want a jazz bass sound,I must change middle and neck,in mode 2,right?
