Ive got 2 fz110s and a dz160 all almost 20yrs old and are running superb still with no parts replaced except glow plugs. Already the third owner. It can be a bit high maintenance tho but the power you get from fuel injection is literally the best in each class esp when flying pattern.
I have the DZ direct injection its very powerful but they are kind of engine where have to tinker with. I have had a few before this one is the most powerful one I have. Problem is they are not cheap most used ones like you said have a problem the it only takes a few parts to exceed the value of a used motor. With the recent retirement of Richard from YS engines the new place took over is charging about double what he was charging.
Hmm ... another teaser. I was hoping to see a whole engine run but I see that it has to wait. I am quite interested to read your comments as you fine tune the engine
An engine run video has been made and is coming. But to tell the story I must release the videos in a certain order. Seldom do my videos not have multiple parts that collectively tell a story.

An almost perfect preserved engine, YS in the right hands are extremely strong, reliable, and long lasting engines.
That’s a great buy David and sounds superb idling. Waiting for that explosive acceleration these engines are renowned for producing!
Very nice Dave. Cant wait to see a run video. I have a 140 limited I bought a while back for a Variant kit but need to get it unstuck first.
Beautifully made engine. I won't pretend to understand the plumbing on it. Give me an old O.S FP any day 😂
Very nice, looks very well made engine.
The pressurized fuel system is nice, especially if you want the fuel tank on the center of gravity.
Yamada are great engines !
Cool engine 👍🏽

this is great for a pattern plane... what fuel are you using for this engine? and how much did you pay for this one...
Nice.👍🏻👍🏻
That’s the stock exhaust and the header you have is for YS as well
One wonder if you have ever run an Kavan FK 50?? "Tween Engine" they are some what of an unicorn to me! kind of impossible to see or to buy!!
No I have never had a Kavan
@@dmrcflyr2 Thank you for taking the time to answer, best regards!! today I receive my firs Saito engine.. they are incredibly suit!!

Is this engine supercharged or is the carb/plenum on the back like low pressure fuel injection?

Don't use a Dubro tank on YS "Pressurised" engines - they burst! "Tetra" tank is the safe option.
You'll only make the mistake once, I know 😉
Well I did not experience such a failure in the times I ran the engine.
