UPDATE: I purchased five of these traps to exterminate groundhogs, opossums and racoons terrorizing my garden. Works great and is humane for that but THESE TRAPS CAN MAIM YOU! This guy is playing with dynomite. If you're going to spend the money to purchase the trap; please buy the tool to set it with. I'm a 65 year old hunter and trapper, even with the tool this trap is Extremely Dangerous and can break a limb easily!
Yes, I have single spring conibear 110’s and even those would break your hand easily. Any wood chuck that will fit his head in there is done. That moment when you’re going to release the trap and the tension on the trip bar is very hectic because you wanna release tension but if you release too much, it will snap on your hand if the trip bar isn’t on there good.
Hi! Will Duke 160 bodytrap work for skunks and raccoons? Its just 220 are a bit pricy for me. Thanks And yeah, i will buy a tool to set it up. Maybe should buy 2? What do you recommend for safety?
@@SH-jy6lc Hi sorry it took a day to get back with you. Yes the 160 will work fine for rabbit, skunk; squirrel and the likes. Make sure to get the tool to set these traps. These traps are dangerous. I'm a seasoned trapper and hunter and I wouldn't set one without the tool. It also makes it easier to remove the game from the trap.
They make a safety you put on the jaws when you set the trigger. You should always use that. Also position the trap when you set the trigger so the 2 spring safeties don't fall away.
Definitely not a trapping expert. The title should read “Noob trying to figure out a Duke body trap” rather than a demonstration. It’s a great video of how not to set a trap. I’d probably look for a different demonstration video if you really want to learn how to set trap safely and effectively. Heck maybe I’ll make a video and teach ya something so you don’t end up hurt!
@@benjamincolston4211 Yea you can tell that he's never experienced these dangerous traps before. I have five that I use to keep critters out of my garden. I'm always very, very, very, very, very careful and cautious when setting them. They can give you some serious injuries.

I think you'd best put those traps up before somebody gets hurt. And don't play with them again.

This guy shouldn't be doing demos on trapping he doesn't have a clue.

One piece at a time lol
You just scared the crap out of me.
