Man I really wish Mana Khemia had a 3rd game.
Atlier Series is good and all, but in the end Mana Khemia did something that make me want to wish for more.

If you meant the combat systems for both games, then yeah it's their best attempt at making a turn-based combat.
If you meant the Grow Book, then it's a great concept and was a good direction to head onto because it eliminates Combat Level grinding and Alchemy Level grinding. Still unpolished, but it was a good concept to introduce and had massive potential to be expanded upon with current Atelier.
Everything else? I don't want those back. The writing on the two games were very questionable. Dusk, Ryza 1, and Ryza 3 were able to pull off nicer writing than those two games. The visuals are arguable since Mana Khemia 1 & 2 had really flashy and extreme combat animations but you can check Ryza 2 and 3 and it's pretty close (still tamer than what Mana Khemia 2 was able to achieve but it's still flashy)

I consider Atelier Escha & Logy to be "Mana Khemia 3"
The game features 2 protagonists, kinda like Mana Khemia 2, it even came out in Japan with a download code for Mana Khemia 2 for the PS3! Both protagonists even share the same hair color as Vayne and Jess and the game even features an "abandoned floating ruin" that, honestly, felt like an reference to Al-Revis Academy. It's probably something completely unrelated as I never played other Atelier games to see if those have floating ruins as well... but damn, it gave me chills.
And the combat in honestly Mana Khemia's but with added mechanics, seriously, I felt at home playing Escha & Logy :)
Can't say too much about the story other than I liked it. Give it a try if you haven't yet!

@@AlphaPHK I don't know how you came with the conclusion that the combat resembles Mana Khemia 1's since the only thing that's remotely similar to it is just the Support Gauge. If there's an Atelier game that directly reuses Mana Khemia 1's combat then it's Atelier Shallie (aka the game after Escha & Logy).
They do make a reference to Vayne's skill via one of the items Logy uses in E&L but anything else that's presented in E&L are just completely different to Mana Khemia 1 nor Mana Khemia 2 gameplay lol
